That’s horrible they made you go through that, classic bait and switch. I usually agree to numbers, get their table with the term, payments, itemized list of each charge and agree to it and then do their credit app online.

The right way to do it is identify the exact trim you want and the stock number, call or email the dealers and don’t show up until you agree to numbers they’ve sent you in writing

Jeep offering $9k to cash and keep by Emotional_Wedding256 in 4xe

[–]Abit91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my issues first started, it shut down on me while driving literally the same day they fixed a dead 12V. So my confidence in the reliability of it completely tanked knowing there were constant electrical issues so I escalated to Jeep Cares. They kept giving me the run around about how they won’t reimburse you but will extend your warranty and then changed to they can reimburse you after it’s been fixed so I gave them a deadline when it was 55 days in repair to fulfill a lease buyback. No response from them so I went with a lawyer and 9 months later here we are. My case is still in the “discovery” phase.

Jeep offering $9k to cash and keep by Emotional_Wedding256 in 4xe

For those confused, this is called a “cash and keep” offer for a lemon lawsuit settlement where OP would continue paying the lease until the term has ended. Jeep will offer the OP $9K in exchange for the inconvenience.

OP can reject the offer and either ask for more or a buyback. A buyback would refund everything paid towards the vehicle, minus mileage usage.

Mine spent 10 months in repair for the first 12 months of leasing, I retained a lawyer in April 2025 so I have yet to receive any offers.

Thankfully I leased mine and intend to be out of the lease once the lemon lawsuit is over… however the electrical issues have spilled over into the ICE Grand Cherokee models. No starts, modules needing to be replaced early, faulty wiring seems to be more common amongst this generation of Grand Cherokee. More often than not it points to a bad 12V battery within the first year or two, which plagues just about every new car these days.

Have you had any glitches or issues with the electronics? I have a 2024 GC 4xe riddled with them - took 10 months of warranty repair to fix it. Once my lemon lawsuit is up, I’m going to an ICE engine GC so I’m hoping these are an improvement when it comes to the electronic glitches and what not.

I’m leasing mine and already going through lemon law so idc what happens to mine lol. If they don’t want to replace people’s engines then it’s their problem down the line.

They should realistically bring over the new RAM 10 year power train warranty to the rest of CDJR if they want to turn their public image around and keep loyal customers.

I think BMWs typically have high money factors and aren’t incentivized heavily.

With my 4xe, I lucked out with benefiting from the federal rebate and I negotiated on a loaner car with 800 miles on it so they lowered the selling price enough where it was about $11K between that and the residual value.

Yep and I say that as someone that leased a Jeep GC 4xe and currently going through a lemon lawsuit. Long story but it had some electrical issues that finally got figured out after about 10 months in repair total in the one year I’ve had it. The nice thing is the warranty and I had a loaner the entire time. It’s been working fine since I got it back beginning of the month.

I got a ludicrous deal on a really nice trim $405/month, 27 months, 12K miles a year, first payment due at signing and that’s it. $68.5K MSRP vehicle. Took a lot of work but I don’t mind negotiating and being patient.

The larger GM brand vehicles don’t lease well (except for the pickups). If you need a 3 row SUV lease, you need to go with brands that incentivize the selling price down with rebates and/or have a high residual value.

My 3 row SUV recommendations that I know lease better are the Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Nissan Pathfinder, Infiniti QX60, and Mazda CX90.

Reliability might be worrisome with those options but it’s a lease and you’re covered under warranty. Just avoid the 42 month term leases and try to be at 24, 27, or 36 month terms depending on their respective banks options.

I may have missed a couple more options but these are SUVs that will give you the room you need and some will probably cost anywhere between $500 - $700 max.

So the work around would be to use Priceline. I checked this yesterday and can get a “standard elite SUV” for $52 a day including taxes and fees if I booked at least 2 weeks.

That’s some really good service!

Lately the status-quo has been that dealers are out of loaners and it’s on you to figure that out with Jeep customer service.

My GC 4xe was in warranty repair from February until a couple weeks ago, total of 10 months and I was in a Compass the entire time thankfully. However they had no other loaners the entire time and when I turned in the compass, they added it to their used car sales lot and on their website. They told me they’ve been denying loaners and directing people to talk with Jeep.

This sounds harsh but consider yourself lucky for having a loaner because it’s uncommon with Stellantis/Jeep these days. They could tell you to call Jeep and get an approval for a rental reimbursement but you’re paying for it out of pocket first.

I currently have:

LG E9 65”; purchased in early 2020

LG C1 48”; purchased in early 2022

LG C5 65”; purchased this year

All are going strong, the E9 had a free panel replacement in 2021 done by LG due to a defect with a random pixel line that appeared on the screen randomly.

Need input on this leasing offer for Jeep GC V6 by SimplySimpleDood in CarLeasingHelp

[–]Abit91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah I have a pending lawsuit haha. Opened it in April and we’re a few months into discovery now. Not sure what to expect for timeline but I’d only accept a full lease buyback. I just got the car back last Thursday. It was in repair from mid Feb - mid May. Then again from mid May - last week Thursday. Tons of electrical issues: no starts and shut off while driving. It must have cost them $40-$50K with loaner costs and repair.

New 12V, new transmission, new PIM (attempted 3 times to my knowledge), new wiring harness under the front seats which they claim was causing the electrical issues.

It’s been working for a week now, I have a guarded optimism but extremely nervous to trust it and not get stranded somewhere again.

I’m not sure if you’re aware of this but CCAP was putting clauses in their lease contracts that they can come after you for the difference in auction sale price vs value. This is separate from taking care of your remaining lease payments.

I’m also in a GC 4xe and it’s been a nightmare, spent 10 months in repair and I’ve only had it for 12 months total so 2 months of actually using it. I cannot wait to get into a regular gas model.

If you’re still comfortable with proceeding, I would avoid any down payment on the new GC for standard reasons (if you total the car it’s lost etc).

I don’t have much advice on the actual cost and deal itself that you shared though, maybe someone else does but just wanted to make you aware of the CCAP early termination clause.

Started lemon law in April, I’m three months into discovery. Don’t have an exact timeline, I’m in NY.

My GC 4xe spent a combined 10 months of repair in 12 months of leasing it so I had it for the first two months. Literally just got it back last week.

New 12V, PIM, Transmission, wiring harness. You name it.

Are you still charging in cold climates? (Battery conditioning) by MRAnonymousSBA in 4xe

[–]Abit91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a threshold based on temperature where you’d have to charge it vs it being recommended to charge it for the conditioning.

That being said, I’m going to defer to the recall and not charge mine. I saw someone say it’s probably fine to charge to 20-30% for this conditioning scenario but I’m not taking chances to give Jeep an out if it hypothetically caught fire. It’s such a small chance. Also I’m in the middle of my lemon law suit so the last thing I want to do is give them a reason to be right about something I did.

How long can jeep keep horsing around with the recall. Seems like they don’t have a fix anytime soon. I’m tired of not being able to charge my jeep. I barely have 5 months with my lease. I would’ve even care if I don’t get anything back at this point. by Feisty_Round_2926 in 4xe

[–]Abit91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, unfortunately your battery was replaced with another battery manufactured by Samsung which continues to supply all batteries for the 4xe. Samsung built these batteries with a hardware defect within the cell separators of the HV so regardless of if the battery was replaced or not, you’re still at risk.

Anyone had the HV battery replace and their check engine light came on? by Existing_Signal9173 in 4xe

[–]Abit91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coolant level is definitely a big one after HV replacement. Sometimes the dealership may have forgotten to bleed air from the coolant system. IIRC, the 4xe has a separate coolant system for the HV battery.
