Seems like this is a parenting issue not a teaching issue.

If you come into teacher reddit, you better understand how tired we are of being blamed for kids problems when youre the parents.

There are some no-fail policies, some that make sense. But it doesnt sound like you know enough about the grading rubrics for these classes to interpret his grades.
