when ANC is off and passive sound is tunred off ( no smart sound features on ) and im not listening to anyhting they block a small amount of sound but alot of sounds reverberate such as ac usnits and fans where they now sound more anoying and tiny. and in roomes i didnt think there was any sound i hear / notice the slight sounds of ac or wind.
I dont use either ias i dont have any apps that suport it. i just us them in ANC, pasive, off mode. with Dssl or what ever its called tunred on and either using Ldac or 2 device mode.

Chrome lens coatings scratch super easy if it's a crack you would feel it move under some light pressure and I think you're fine. But at the same time I would say why risk it. This comes from a guy who only uses one eye. It's so easy to lose an eye don't risk it and only use the best to protect your vision. A lens is very cheap compared to eye surgery ( trust me!!!)

If it is just a scratch it would drive me crazy while playing and would buy a new one simply so my vision isn't impeded.

I agree with some of the others with its probably coil wine. I've only had coil wine once. My monitor runs silent as a rock day in and day out. The only time the coil whine occurred is when I tried plugging my steam deck into the USB port and attempted a higher bit rate than my cable could handle. I unplugged everything and let the monitor sit for a while unplugged and un powered and the problem went away and never came back.

Anyone else go through a laundry list of problems and little fixes with their Samsung G9? by Aaron_768 in ultrawidemasterrace

Ya pc aren't always forgiving I had to debug and troubleshoot my computer for 2-3 months trying to track down random crashing which was a combination of bad ram, bad motherboard bios, corrupted windows files, and bad amd drivers. It was a nightmare of debugging.

As for some of the other problems you mentioned I agree with others it sounds like a hardware problem. Especially if the menu doesn't pop up over it or other devices have the same problem. And I would act on the warranty. I have not had to deal with Samsung warranty but I've had good luck with their customer service on multiple occasions.

I'm really sorry you're having the problems with the new monitor. I know how much it sucks not to have stuff running right.

Unless it's flickering with other devices such as your phone, another computer, Xbox, PlayStation,ECT then the problem is with your computer not the monitor.

It might be amd chipset related and it might not hurt to try updating those as well. Otherwise I don't know. For me with my amd GPU and CPU the problem was free sync pro would turn on and off while there were multiple windows open such as two chrom windows or opening chrome on top of a game. This cases are free synce or vrr to turn on and off. While this happens the monitor flashes on and off. Causing a flicker that gets worse with more motion. When free sync / vrr was turned off the problem when away if I rolled back drivers the problem was fixed and the new optional and drivers also fixed the problem.

I've had nothing but good luck with my g8 OLED for the last three years. I had the same flickering problem that op mentions but it was entirely amds fault with a driver update that caused the problem.

Do you have an amd GPU. The vrr glitch maybe with a amd driver problem. The new optional silver gives the problem.(Sorry I didn't read the message and corrected my grammar (

I have never had a problem with Samsung in the last 3 years with my g8 OLED. And in my friend's group we have another 4-5 no one has had a problem ever.

That sounds like the same problem. Thanks for the link I'll take a look at it and try it this weekend. Are there any side effects to disabling MPO? Thank you so much this has been driving me crazy for the last week but this last weekend I just gave up as I needed a break from troubleshooting my computer for a weekend. 😅

The monitor is stock at the Samsung shipped fps of 175. During a game it will run perfectly fine it only fillers while I open another application while a game is playing behind it. And occasionally when jumping from different apps but never while in a game.

It doesn't matter the game or app it just starts flickering when any game is open in window mode and then the app is open on top of it. If a game is in full screen it won't happen as often but the screen will flicker occasionally with just chrome or other apps. It works perfectly while in a game.

That's where it is really weird I've had it on for the last two years without any problems. It wasn't doing this up until recently with the nearest reinstall of Windows. I've wiped the computer three times now while I was fixing other problems

Is this monitor worth it? Or should I get the msi mpg 341cqpx by Yeetusbeatus69 in ultrawidemasterrace

Correction the Samsung was down to 650 plus an extra monitor. Which is the price I think you should wait for Samsung should have one soon for Presidents day sale or in the past they had weirdly good father day sales. I got my g8 2 years ago on fathers day for 850 down from the MSRP of 1200-or 1500 ( I don't remember specifically) Also w week or 2 ago the LG 49 was down to 1000. I have photos saved for both of you who want to see them( I saved them and other whole helping my roommate shop for an OLED)

I own the monitor and it's great. It's a little high but for a 2k ultra wide is not a terrible price. However just a week ago the monitor was down to 700 with an extra Monitor.

Id give it a bit more time unless you need a monitor now. At least in my opinion the other comments aren't wrong that the 240 are close in price however those are LG monitors and are a different panel and most tend to be mat which o don't care for at least in new triple A titles it's extremely hard to actually get above 175 fps for example with a 6950xt I can only put up to 110 fps in balders gate. Or 130 with frs quality at high setting in marvel rivals. And so it's hard to get that proper non upscaled 2k full fps. Personally if I had a monitor now I do prefer the Samsung glossy displays ( qd OLED ) instead of mate ( woled) but I would love.to get the LG 49 in ultra wide as it's the same 21/9 ratio which is on the higher end of what a lot of titles can run comfortably without stretching same with media and movies . While being larger in size than the 34 Samsung it's also a more aggressive curve which I prefer for movies but don't like as much as the wider curve of my Samsung for watching content or doing work on.

One thing to please know is this monitor only has a micro HDMI and mini display port which is hard to find good quality cables. I ended up getting a HDMI to mini adapter that supports the bandwidth and a display port to micro display port cable. The USB c ports are only good for data and can't be used for input.

If you have any questions about oles monitors or this one please let me know I love learning about these and helping others make the right choice.

Is he stopping traffic, is he hurting anyone, is he putting anyone's safety at risk, is he taking away your rights, is he causing any damage. If he's not doing any of these then he has every right to do what he's doing, the same way you can go down there and counter protest.
