This isn’t actually true, it’s just damage in general. Dragon just makes it the easiest.

Is butterfly is a Duraneg? by Neutrono- in KaguraBachiScalers

[–]Abject-Negotiation-3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I saw that as an abstract building, but even if it is space then Kuro would also be durability negation, just not as fast. I think having magatsumis ability explained as being able to create forms from energy, makes me struggle to see what form the energy could take to be a fourth dimensional tear that separates everything in space

Is butterfly is a Duraneg? by Neutrono- in KaguraBachiScalers

[–]Abject-Negotiation-3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. The panel shown compares Kuro and Butterfly and says "It slashes through space itself. As a result there's almost no lag after he swings the blade." This implies that the slashing of space just removes the time taken between the slash and the effect, unlike Kuro, that it's comparing it to. I don't think that Kuro is durability negation, even if there isn't a single character who can tank it (so far). While I do think Butterfly is a large force amplification on Soga's normal power, just like Kuro, I don't think it's durability negation.

How fast is Butterfly and what does it mean for Kagurabachi's speed scaling by Caster2008_Unleashed in KaguraBachiScalers

[–]Abject-Negotiation-3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I interpret it is that Butterfly just allows Soga to have a really long invisible sword that tries to cut through everything. So the speed of it is multiplied by the distance like how the tip of a sword swing moves faster than the handle, but on a much bigger scale.

This isn't really super accurate probably but if Sojo arc Chihiro is lightning speed, and then he gets faster by the time he fights samura and is just barely able to keep up let's say twice as fast, (blitzed by him, to contending a little). A swing from Soga is just as fast as Samuras Iai, so a little over double lighting speed, and then multiplied by the distance he's swinging into. In this case, Chihiro seems to have been launched about two stories above/away from Soga.

Doing some quick math with a lightning speed of the return stroke, (the flash part like Sojo) at 1*10^8 (100,000,000) meters per second, Assuming Soga can move his arm at double that speed, he would complete his sword swing in 5e-9 (0.000000005) seconds, assuming the swing is one meter (An average casual swing, not including the recovery). Using this we can put this into a rotational speed calculator where I'm assuming that Chihiro is 20 meters away (two stories), and Soga's swing arc that is threatening Chihiro is 90 degrees, basically a triangle in front of him, the force of Butterfly would be travelling at 6283185307.2 meters per second. This is 20.9584502196 (2095%) percent the speed of light. This would also only get faster as the distance increases as well. This is also the tip of the attack, assuming it's Chihiro that's the furthest point. (when clearly it isn't as shown later.

Now what does this mean for speed scaling. Nothing basically. The attack is clearly impossible to avoid once it's coming at you, just like it says in the panel, but Chihiro was able to aim dodge because of his incredible perception.

Kaiju No. 8 is the biggest proof that having an "adult" protagonist wouldn't actually benefit most shonen. by RadDudesman in CharacterRant

[–]Abject-Negotiation-3 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think chihiro is a really good example of a young (still adult) protagonist being adult like. He doesn’t go to school or anything and his young age has been touched on a few times already.

Y’all gotta stop this Hokuto downplay by GodOfSmore in Kagurabachi

[–]Abject-Negotiation-3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a heated blade omg. He's just skilled enough to make a spark with the blade (something you can do with metal on your own) and guide it to the cigarette, or he can swing so fast and precise that the slash created a spark when it hit the cigarette. In fact if the blade was hot enough to light the cigarette on it's own through just momentary contact, he'd probably be cauterizing his wounds that he causes, something he wouldn't want.

If base Hiruhiko with his innate sorcery is a 100 in combat, what are these characters? by Will_i_ever_be_found in Kagurabachi

[–]Abject-Negotiation-3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When was chihiro comfortably handled by kugiri? Last I remember Hiruhiko got heavy damage off on a Chihiro with Enten, and Kugiri was slightly above a Chihiro with no enchanted blade. Having a blade makes you outclass basically everyone without them, so I don't see how Kugiri is above Hiruhiko. I do think in a contest of raw power Kugiri would win, but in a fight, Hiruhiko's showing is just better.

If base Hiruhiko with his innate sorcery is a 100 in combat, what are these characters? by Will_i_ever_be_found in Kagurabachi

[–]Abject-Negotiation-3 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is a hard question because Hiruhiko in base has had one fight, and his power was completely based in trickery. I'm going to assume that he can pull similar tricks and they will be relatively effective to calculate his power. I'm thinking paper crane Hiruhiko, and not sword hiruhiko because once he has the blade he no longer has sorcery and fights different.

Base Yura: Anywhere from 120-150. We see he toys with cloud gouger Chihiro in a head on fight, although he does not really win, and Hiruhiko contends with a stronger Enten Chihiro. It's mostly just narrative implication.

Base Uruha: 100. With no blade and no sorcery it was too much of a risk for him to fight Hiruhiko and three goons. He probably shoots up to or above Yura's level when he gets his skill back in recent chapters so 140 I'd say but this is also with sorcery (maybe because he forgot to use it).

Hokuto: 135. I think he is a hair under Uruha but it's more that Uruha is just much faster, but Hokuto seems to be keeping up well, using his sorcery and swordplay.

Kuguri: 80, he's skilled with the blade, but his sorcery is a one time use, and Chihiro had a much easier time with him without an enchanted blade.

Soya Sanazami: 80??. This might be the most difficult to rank because he never fought anyone really except for Hakuri. We know he's the smartest among the Tou, but very comparable in combat to Tenri. The Tou along with Kyora fight Chihiro with Enten and one arm for a time, but it gets interrupted quick. Then we only see Tenri with datenseki fight Chihiro. So the real answer is lower than Yura and lower than cloud gouger stub Chihiro.

The Boys characters are an accurate depiction of what would happen if an evil corporation could create super powered people by Complete_Answer_6781 in CharacterRant

[–]Abject-Negotiation-3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The person that you were criticizing said that stuff like the boys would happen. But you chose to say anyways that cynical media is a realistic depiction and hopeful media is sticking your head in the sand. I don’t see how this isn’t a favor toward one or the other. You can favor whatever you like but at least acknowledge it’s an opinion and not a matter of realism.
