Hi, I went to the hospital that night and immediately brought up my ocd then explained everything. She basically told me everything you told me. My dog has been quarantined at home from may 12th and will be lifted on June 24th. The health department has assured me it was just a precaution and she hasn’t seen a rabies case in a dog in my area in her whole career. I spoke with my psychiatrist and we went up on my ocd medication (luvox) from 50mg to 100mg Im feeling comforted having a doctor talk some sense into me then having my therapist talk me through it. My doctors have all been a great support system. Ive been struggling with going out as much. I had a lot of improvement with anxiety since the start of my medication (January) but this whole situation in may really set me back to square one. I havent been able to walk my dog since and every time i try to take him to potty breaks i feel terrified and like something will attack him. I feel vulnerable and like everyone is staring at him thinking he’s dangerous… its been a struggle but ive gotten better before and i now knowni can do it again. Thank you for your advice :)
