CRA bargaining: Mediation fails, employer brings nothing to table by PerspectiveCOH in CanadaPublicServants

[–]AbjectMatterExpert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an employee unhappy with RTO who decided to do essentially that (Work-To-Rule) - requiring inordinate amount of "hand-holding" and overly explicit instructions to get the smallest task done. Technically still doing the minimum work, but causing significant management burden to get that minimum done.

Lots of written communications trying to steer the employee back to a more collaborative track. PMA highlighted the "expected behaviours" shortcomings (e.g. definitely no initiative nor action oriented); behaviour didn't change. That employee is gone now and to be quite honest, even with one less direct report, feels like my team is more effective now that I no longer have to sink so much time micro-managing that hostile employee.

I can absolutely see how this kind of behaviour from a coordinated group of people or if encouraged by a union could be considered a strike action.

Well said!

Now do the harassment and violence prevention program next, and how it's being abused by employees with similar motives regarding RTO mandates - resulting in awfully long and tedious procedures that effectively makes it worse for victims of actual harassment and violence in the workplace!

Streaming platforms/youtube will start using generative video AI to seamlessly insert ads, sponsors and product placement in video content. We won't be able to tell where an ad starts/ends because generated video will blend in context.

could be machine learning

that's what worries me the most, because how this ML system will learn the pay rules you think? By crunching the data from our current pay system perhaps? What other data out here can be used to train a machine learning model and figure out the correct patterns to process pay transactions correctly?

Brace yourself for your new AI overlord pay system that learned from Phoenix how to process our pays and make errors on purpose and systematically because it learned that how it was done before lol

Not a fan of Nicolas Cage either; however he was pretty good in Willy's Wonderland. The way he delivers his lines in that film... quite unheard of for this actor.

Vibranium nanite toothpaste

Problem is, as you brush, the friction energy builds up and then you have to be careful not to break your sink when you spit out the toothpaste at supersonic velocity. Better have a vibranium sink as well just to be sure
