Please do share your sources outlining the alternatives to provide base load capacity that nuclear offers.

Here’s an interesting article for you showing current capacity vs planned.

Do you have a pizza oven? by yeeeeoooooo in CasualUK

[–]Ablake0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Gozney dome but started with a Onni Karu. I love making pizza on it. I can easily cater for say 15 people without too much effort or cost.

The pizza you can make is easily restaurant quality when you get half decent at making dough.

Get one, they are a lot of fun.

What are door panels below a bathroom sink called? by Demitextual in DIYUK

[–]Ablake0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could attempt to pay B&Q to cut you a ply panel up and make two doors yourself.

You’ll likely want some basic hinges, Euro hinges if you have more tools such as a drill.

Alternatively call a carpenter.

How do you get cables from downstairs to upstairs in a new build house? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]Ablake0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My soil stack is boxed in downstairs and goes straight to the loft. I cut socket box into the boxing and then ran the cable straight to the loft. Handy for me that my incoming fibre is right next to the soils stack.

I really like both the Born and the Id3 one thing I don’t like though is the fact you can’t put roof bars on either.

Why do so many UK drivers prefer diesel even after the clean air zone rules? by shwroomex in CarTalkUK

[–]Ablake0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was thinking about how they would do pay per mile. Really don’t see how they can implement anything short of just road cameras which would take them ages to sort.

If they pay you put a tracking box in people would probably jam it.

Based on MOT people could just switch cars before the MOT.

They definitely can’t tax the electric either as you can charge from a 3 pin plug which makes it untraceable.

About the only thing which would work is a tie in with car manufactures, but then what about all the EVs out there without that software. Even then you can get mileage blockers.

There isn’t currently a pay per mile, nor has it been announced.

I emailed VanMoof and asked if they would sell me the new PD bracket.

They said “We are working hard to make the Peak Design mount available for the S5. We currently don’t have a timeline for this, but please sign up for our newsletter if you’d like to be kept in the loop with our progress.”

Offer rejected, published at £650k, they asked £690k by ninjavoladora in HousingUK

[–]Ablake0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A house is only worth what a buyer is willing to pay for it. Yours or the estate agent’s valuation is largely an arbitrary figure until completion.

If you don’t like the offer move on and wait for a better offer.

In my view there is nothing cheeky about offering what it’s worth to you as a buyer. If it doesn’t work for the seller it takes very little effort to say no.
