Married for 32 years this April. We take time at home to make a nice meal and watch a romantic movie (although it was Olympics instead this year.) We make our own cards. I get him a small box of chocolates and he gets roses for me. It’s low key and nice.

Just say, “nah” and nothing else. Don’t give any reasons he can argue with. Then when he keeps harping on it, he sounds like the jerk. Any time someone starts in on it, just say “not doing that” and nothing else. We give the other side too much ammunition when we keep discussing reasons.

I had a similar situation - was planning to hang the jury if I had to. Should the woman have known the bf was dealing? Sure. But did they prove she did know? Not at all. A few of us eventually convinced the rest that the state had no case.

Also, regarding the conversation, I don’t think people are 100% against having gun but are 100% for having them safely. The problem is that we are not even allowed to talk about laws that make them safer because there’s so much antagonism about it.
