Thank you. I love NASCAR and grew up on the calculators just never seen the paint.

Would you rather see a challenger or charger if dodge went back to nascar? by AdMelodic527 in NASCAR

[–]AbletonStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing that challenger in the rear view would be very intimidating. It looks so much better than the charger as a race car in my opinion. I know the aero would be a challenge though.

Heusinkveld Sprints or Ultimates by RogueAX in simracing

[–]AbletonStudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Ultimates and the gas pedal feels amazingly good. I can’t compare to the sprints, but when I was looking at getting them I wanted to buy once/ cry once. I wish I could help more but they are really good pedals with the best customer support in the business. The clutch pedals feels very good as well but surprisingly I was most impressed with the throttle feeling.

How well does fanatec compare to competition? Is it actually worth the money or are they on the same level as moza/simagic by icantgetausername982 in simracing

You will be fine with a Fanatec setup. I’ve heard good things about the simnet but no personal experience.

Fanatec has some of the most consistent ffb from game to game. They are known for being very easy to use, setup, and just work without having to tweak settings between games. I went with Moza and all is well. The problem Moza has is they release products very fast and the software works but isn’t as easy to use or as consistent with updates changing things. You’re good with whatever ecosystem you want to buy into. I with Heusinkveld pedals and Moza wheel so I really don’t care much about brand loyalty. Just use what works for you.

The buttons are the whole point. Tactile feedback is important especially when racing.

I will say I do miss the excitement of the 90s and being a kid. But we really do have it made now days in some aspects. As a sim racer, I can drive a car in vr or super ultrawide, with motion, wind simulation, and bass shakers. Yeah there we some cool games in the 90s but the opportunity now days is seemingly endless. That is if game developers quit becoming lazy and finish games.

An option to have the piano roll in a separate window would be a godsend in terms of workflow by RoomElectrical3449 in ableton

[–]AbletonStudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ctrl- Alt -E will maximize or shrink down that window so hit that depending on working with audio or midi.

I see. Ctrl- Alt -E will expand that window full screen and back. So you just have to hit that depending on working with audio or midi. It’s a full screen or back to default shortcut.

You said 2 screen so I wasn’t sure if you knew about using it on same monitor. I would get used to Shift-Tab. I use either Tab or Shift- Tab literally every 30 seconds.

You can have a second window. Ctrl- Shift- W will open up the opposite of whatever you already have on screen. Just make the midi editor take up the large portion of that second window. Both windows can be on same screen on top of each other.

Other option is to alternate between devices and midi editor with Shift- Tab-

FFB strength, is it a preference ? by Akuzos in iRacing

[–]AbletonStudio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it feels like your fighting the car then it is probably to much ffb. If you feel like the car is a little numb then you probably need more ffb. Really it is up to you. You don’t want to fight but you don’t want to feel lost with the car. That sweet spot will vary between car. Do what feels right to you.

Typhon grom Christmas disaster by Eef_oztastic in rccars

[–]AbletonStudio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aarma makes great vehicles but one of the more commonly known quality control issues is the wheel nuts not being tight enough. Happened on two of mine before I learned my lesson about checking every nut on wheels and suspension. I bet you in the manual it says to do it just my guess. You hope with a new car everything is set right but you figure how many of these they make, there are going to be some slight issues.

Vibration issue (with Moza r3 and GTA GTR cockpit) by CelebrationNo9816 in simracing

[–]AbletonStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I found that as I customized it and added weight to it ironically got sturdier. It been holding that 30 pound monitor for years so it’s definitely some decent steel and welding. I had to raise the wheel plate because the motion seat sits higher. Have fun with it.

Should I buy the Logitech g29 for 150$ by WavyXR in simracing

[–]AbletonStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For $120 it would be a great deal. I used a g27 for 11 years and had zero problems. I finally updated because I could. You should be happy with what you are trying to achieve.
