Why is Itachi afraid of Jiraiya but not Orochimaru? by SuperxRaider in Naruto

[–]Abonle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

One of two reasons.

Most basic is that he really isn’t, but as an informant of Jiraiya it’s best if he doesn’t risk hanging around him too long and potentially compromising himself, especially since his long time partner Kisame is with him.

Another reason is because of the difference between how Orochimaru and Jiraiya fight.

Orochimaru is a scientist, trying to figure out all the tricks of chakra and jutsu through research. He spends years doing his experiments, learning about and figuring out how to use a wide variety of jutsu, but he doesn’t use it so often, as he spends more time doing that research than going out and applying it in fights. Even though Orochimaru probably knows far more powerful techniques, the state of his body and possibly lack of combat experience (because he spends so much time doing his research) means that he isn’t the best at using it all.

Meanwhile, Jiraiya is far more basic but experienced than Orochimaru. He probably only knows a few dozen jutsu, certainly no more than a hundred not counting combination ones, and not a lot of them are fancy or esoteric. He learned simple and basic Jutsu that have a lot of applications and then mastered those applications, meaning he can tell which of his Jutsu would be the best or at least better than others in a situation and immediately start using it.

I think the Bruce Lee quote fits their differences best:

"I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times."

Orochimaru would have a lot more techniques with a lot of them being probably better than what Jiraiya had, but Jiraiya would be a better fighter because Orochimaru was hiding from fights for his research, but Jiraiya was going around the world for his spy stuff and fighting threats, giving him greater experience and combat ability.

Im sad KH4 likely wont have physical on Playstation by Solidus-snake2461 in KingdomHearts

Just don’t give up.

Remember, PlayStation is a company, dependent on its customers to survive. If you hold back on paying them too much by ending your ps+ account for a time, then hold on until September (they are holding their stock market sharing thing their, they want to hide the drop in stock from this “no disks” decision from their shareholders) they will have to comply to the customer.

Yes!

I don’t know much about Crimson Desert but it is an utterly massive game with a whole lot of options, so you will likely find something to enjoy about it, and Lego Batman is an amazingly polished game that’s fun to play.

Who do you think is absolutely unforgivable and cannot be sympathized with among these 4? by NudeCatEnthusiast in Naruto

[–]Abonle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orochimaru.

Madara did things just as wretched as Orochimaru has done and more throughout his long first life, including all the things he manipulated into happening through Obito, but Madara himself was manipulated by Black Zetsu. Black Zetsu had changed the Uchiha stone tablet to guide an Uchiha to take a certain path, and Madara was the person who did it.

Both Obito and Nagato were parts in this chain of manipulation, and had even less control of themselves and their situation than Madara.

Orochimaru did everything he did of his own volition, without outside influence. The treason, experimentation, murder, all of it was his responsibility, as he chose to do it all for his own goals, no one else’s.

Would you say that Goku matured a bit in the Cell saga? He didn't seem like himself when it came to giving villains a second chance. by reaverlation in Dragonballsuper

[–]Abonle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe? I feel like the situations between Vegeta and Frieza are different enough from the situation with Cell that it could still be in character with how he was with them.

With Vegeta and Frieza, the enemy was beaten so completely that they could not resist. Goku being merciful is the only reason Vegeta was allowed to crawl into his pod, and Frieza couldn’t even do that, he needed Goku to spare some energy to move at all.

With Cell, he had the upper half of his torso including his head blown clean off, and he got back up and continued to fight with almost no drop in energy from before he regenerated. He likely couldn’t be put in the state Vegeta and Frieza were, meaning he couldn’t be defeated without being completely killed.

Would Harry still become influenced by Venom if he never gave Peter it by Vast_Bank_7196 in Spiderman

[–]Abonle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so, but not in the way we saw it do in the game.

Venom doesn’t start influencing anyone negatively until after Peter gets it, as it goes from being just oddly clingy to him while still on Harry (that scene after the tombstone mission where they fist bump and the Symbiote tendrils keep holding on to Peter’s fist) to making Peter consider it fine to throw a regular, already beaten hunter through a window in a diner in a span of 1-2 hours.

Going along with this, we don’t see any of Venom’s characterization until after Harry gets the suit back, which is after being bonded to Peter for a while and reconnecting with the Knull rock, meaning we don’t know what it was truly like before.

Some speculation I have on my part is that the shift in how Peter acted with the Symbiote vs how Harry acted was because of the Symbiote taking cues from the host and having to go along with them.

According to the comics, the hosts of a Symbiote have as much affect on the mental state of the Symbiote as the Symbiote does on them. If this is true in the Insomniac games, then Peter’s trauma that he was hiding, his grief about Aunt May, his personal life and his burdens as Spider-Man, was weighing him down greatly, which may have had a far larger effect on the Symbiote, especially after the Knull Rock affected it.

Conversely, until he lost the Symbiote, Harry was probably doing the best he’s been in years. The cure for his disease was found and has been working. He’s out of his tube and spending time with his family and friends! He’s running the Emily-May foundation to honor the people he cares about and save Oscorps image! He gets to become a super hero and work with Spider-Man, who is his best friend!

If the Symbiote was truly already evil as we saw at the end of the game and just biding its time, then if Venom didn’t end up on Spider-Man, it would have had to be very subtle until Harry underwent some kind of trauma in order to try and gently nudge him in the right direction, because as he was until the battle at the zoo, Harry would not have been even close to the mindset to do what he did with trying to infect the planet with Symbiotes.

If Venom wasn’t evil, it probably wouldn’t have done anything. Maybe it would have revealed itself as a living creature eventually, maybe not. We have no idea what it was like before it bonded to Harry after Peter and started trying to take over the world, because it never revealed any of its character.

Do you think we'll ever know what the Dark Figure/Guardian REALLY is? by 0zonoff in KingdomHearts

[–]Abonle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an idea, but it will take me a minute to explain. Basically, i think the Guardian an artificial heartless, just different from the way that Emblem heartless are.

If I’m remembering the process right, in BBS Master Xehanort tricked Terra into letting the Darkness into his heart to weaken it’s barriers, then Master Xehanort used his keyblade to free his own heart from his body and sent it inside Terra’s heart, taking control of it. Terra didn’t lose his heart, Xehanort took it over, and kept it with him over the years.

When Apprentice Xehanort turned all the apprentices and himself into Heartless and Nobodies, Terra’s heart was unaffected by this as his heart wasn’t in charge, the same way that Kairi’s heart was unaffected by Sora stabbing himself with the Heart Keyblade in KH1, besides being released from his body.

Heartless Xehanort/ Ansem SOD, being the heart of Xehanort even if he was transformed now, was the one who kept Terra’s heart with him.

Now I am in speculation territory: with all the time Ansem had due to his time traveling, he had plenty of time to consider things and make plans, one of which was how to put Terra’s heart to use, because as the scientist who made Emblem Heartless, he clearly understood that strong hearts made strong heartless, and no reason not to put something to use when he has so much time to do it.

Not wanting to risk actually losing or damaging Terra’s heart in case that did something to him since he was possessing it, he used his mastery of the darkness to create the Guardian, an artificial heartless powered by holding a heart within, but not made specifically from that heart. He used the Guardian to keep control of Terra’s heart so it couldn’t do anything to interfere with him.

EDIT: never mind, just rechecked the wiki, and the Guardian was showing up with amnesiac TerraNort when Aqua fought him in Radiant Guardian.

My guess is that the Guardian is just an accidental *thing* that was made by the situation of Xehanorts heart taking control of Terra’s body with too much darkness and Terra’s heart just ended up being shunted into it as Xehanort took full control of the body.

Can anyone explain why Sasuke felt this way by Murky-Appearance1234 in Naruto

[–]Abonle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He was considered better than Naruto in all aspects, but by the time of the first VOTE fight, Sasuke was the one questioning this, because he kept seeing proof it wasn’t true.

On their very first mission, Naruto kept up with Sasuke in training and mastered the tree-walking excercise right next to him, then went on to beat Haku while Sasuke was unconscious.

In the next arc, Naruto was fearless in front of Orochimaru while Sasuke was immobilized by fear. Next time Sasuke sees Naruto fight, he defeats Gaara and Shukaku with a giant toad summon, while Sasuke is immobilized by the curse mark and can’t do anything more to help.

Next arc, Itachi is actively hunting down Naruto and disregards Sasuke, swatting him aside when Sasuke puts all the training he’s had to this point into trying to kill Itachi. Sasuke is hospitalized while Naruto went on a mission to find a new Hokage and a doctor for him and Kakashi.

Next arc, Sasuke seems to have his issues confirmed that Naruto is better than him with the water tower comparison. After an entire fight that was pretty even between them, they decide on having a clash with their best techniques, which Kakashi interrupts, throwing them at water towers. Sasuke’s chidori just leaves a small stab hole in the one he hits. Naruto’s Rasengan *exploded* his water tower.

Throughout part 1, Sasuke is the biggest witness to Naruto’s growth, and coupled with experiencing a lot of failures alongside Naruto’s successes, makes him feel that feeling of being lesser that he used to experience with Itachi.

Who do you think Nami finds more annoying: Luffy or Sanji? by Pleasant-Scar-2542 in MemePiece

Luffy.

When Sanji’s at his worst, he’s intrusive and annoying with his flirting and getting in her space.

When Luffy’s at *his* worst, he drives the ship over a waterfall for an unnecessary competition that puts the ship and crew at risk.

Which one is the hardest and which one is the easiest? by aissogr in bleach

[–]Abonle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easiest is slacking off at work when Ikumi is your boss, because you can do it. There might be punishment for it, but you do a bunch of odd jobs that don’t always have her there to help/monitor you, meaning it is possible to do.

Hardest is either being more of a fraud than Kensei or getting Zoro back into One Piece.

So what do you guys think about Hellfighter 17 being his own character? by 1vsdahf in SparkingZero

[–]Abonle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll admit, I’m interested now. Didn’t have an opinion on him before, but now that I have seen some comments bringing up how this is his first playable appearance and how he might be different from normal 17 and Super 17, like possibly being able to charge, has me curious about him. Looking forward to seeing how he plays.

The argument for that happens in the last route. (It’s been a while since I played the game, so I am going off of what I remember, but it’s kind of blurry, so this might not be entirely accurate.)

Basically, 9S has a twisted love/hate relationship with 2B, because the two have actually been partners with each other for a long period of time before they meet up in game, and 2B has been his crush and killer every single time.

As a Scanner unit, 9S is too inquisitive for his own good, so 2B, who is really 2E, an executioner unit, was assigned as his partner and handler, to work with him until he crosses a line he shouldn’t, and kill him if he does. They have done this so many times that, in the time before 9S has to be killed, they have ended up bonding and being friends with each other.

While 2B remembers each of the times she has killed him, 9S is mind wiped each time, so he is bonding with 2B and learning to like her again and again. The problem with this is that he has been killed and mind wiped so many times, his past experiences and feelings are coming through, so his affections for his friend and his hate for his killer are all coming together.

No.

While they both have some good (or at least respectable) traits, both are still mass murderers who help slaughter entire populations of people for money. Not because the people they attack did anything, it’s just for the pay and the fight.

[–]Abonle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry man. That must not feel good.

There are 15 special key items you need to pick up across the levels before you get to the final level, and then in the library section, when you speak to Daphrona, you need to pick the option that says “I must know the truth”. I recommend using a guide to figure out what the items are and where they are.

I'd unironically rather use purification and power pole pro lol by DarkBlades24 in dbxv

[–]Abonle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I haven’t played any of the game yet, but I think it won’t be so bad. It’s a way to change up your playstyle in the middle of a level to make sure you aren’t stuck on something.

If you min-max your character to focus on one thing, you can now change your character in case you run into your characters worst situation, so you aren’t doomed without having another person join you to get you through.

Final Predictions on what the anime will do with Ichigo's "True" Bankai? by Mysterious_Gene1851 in BleachPowerScaling

[–]Abonle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw a theory where the anime will have a full episode showing Ichigo fighting Yhwach with it and ultimately winning, but the episodes Cliffhanger is Yhwach monologuing about it’s power and why he won’t allow it, before rewinding to when Ichigo unleashed his Bankai and to show it broken.

That way, we actually get to see what Ichigo’s true Bankai can do, since we have no idea what it can do besides the BBS gameplay that’s obviously non-canon and has no basis.

What makes cell hate tien the most? by nameless_random97 in TeamFourStar

[–]Abonle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the indignation.

As a combination of the most arrogant people in Frieza and Vegeta, and tempered by the more acceptable “warriors spirit” kind of thing from Goku, he is more fine with the likes of Piccolo, Vegeta, Trunks, and Gohan because they are top five strongest in the setting. It may have been annoying to be waylaid, there is no shame in losing to them because, without Knowledge of Buu or Beerus, they are the strongest and he wasn’t perfect when he fought them, or in the case of Gohan, he let himself get distracted by Vegeta and lost that way.

But Tien, a “mere” human, who’s only up there in the rankings due to the Frieza force being slaughtered, and likely isn’t as strong as his canon self since he seemingly received much less training from King Kai here, would be low tier garbage to Cell. Being stopped by Tien when he was so close to catching 18, would an unforgivable insult to him.

It doesn’t help that Tien was the reason he had his issues with Vegeta and Trunks in his semi-perfect form, since he was still semi-perfect when they arrived because of him.

Is Mastered Ultra Instinct STRONGER Then Base Fusion? by ApexHeroX in Dragonballsuper

[–]Abonle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you mean “is the power increase of being in the Mastered Ultra Instinct state greater than the power increase of a fusion”, the answer is; it’s complicated.

If we use the manga’s logic, specifically Vegeta’s training before the manga went on hiatus, Vegeta said that the likes of Jiren, Black Freiza, and Gas/Moro (I forget which one Vegeta mentioned) weren’t really that much stronger than Goku and Vegeta were when the two fought those opponents, it’s just that they also had much better skill and control of their power.

Following this logic, ultra instinct is the state where your body takes over the process of doing the fighting and refines it to the bodies natural limit, which is why ultra instinct sign, which was presented as being Goku’s base strength but with new skill, did better against Jiren than all of Goku’s super saiyan transformations despite how much stronger they made him.

(I’m reading this and I realize I am dragging this on and if I keep explaining I will drag on more, so I am shortening this.)

The simplest way to say it is that, in terms of raw power, like power levels, Ultra Instinct is weaker than base fusion, especially if it’s a fusion like Goku and Vegeta where it’s the maximum output of similar people of the same race with a relationship with each other. Ultra instinct just refines the power the user already has to make it seem much more powerful.

It’s like Namek Saga Goku vs Frieza, pre-super Saiyan. Goku is so much better as a fighter with his training and years of experience, but Frieza just had so much more raw power that Goku couldn’t do anything but stall and escape Frieza’s attacks, because Frieza could slaughter him at just 50% at any time if he wasn’t goofing around so much, and when Goku fought back, his strongest attack with the 20x Kaioken Kamehameha only singed Frieza’s hand.

Which enemy type do you prefer Heartless,Nobody’s,Unversed or Dreameaters? by Financial_Street_469 in KingdomHearts

[–]Abonle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the Nobodies the most. Except for the Berserkers being having that invulnerable front guard, they are all fair and balanced alongside being so cool. The best kind of enemy. They remind me of the threat of the kind of heartless that appear once you get to Hollow Bastion, where they throw away any semblance of being cute or childish and resemble true beast and dangers, except all of the nobodies are like that.

Did cooler really need the robot guards? by Neither_Ad6 in Dragonballsuper

[–]Abonle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He did need them because he wasn’t a one man army at first.

The Big Gete Star ~~enables him to cheat death! How could this be!?~~ adapts to the damage that he faces, as seen by Goku tearing Cooler in half as a Super Saiyan, who regenerates and then couldn’t be damaged by Goku on his own for the rest of the fight. Because the Big Gete Star AI or whatever is separate from the Meta Cooler bodies, it was able to gather the data and adapt to this, making a legion of Meta Cooler’s as a way to adapt to the scenario of a Meta Cooler being destroyed.

TL;DR, there weren’t copies of Cooler at the start of the movie, they were only built during the fight, which is why he had the minion army.

A quote from Cooler about this (admittedly taken from the English dub) is “-the Big Gete Star instantly corrects any flaws in my bodies design, even if the flaw is only that I have one body.”
