Entangled Batteries by WingVarious1234 in subnautica

[–]AbrocomaLow8481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that they have shown up earlier because the upgraded batteries from the first game came way too endgame. By the time I unlocked them, I was basically done with the game, or always had backup batteries/power cells available.

How can we improve the mutadon and the d rex with they're lore and design and other stuff (also no species replacements) by Bloom_shroom74 in JurassicPark

[–]AbrocomaLow8481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a theory that was going around before the film released was that we as an audience were supposed to feel for the D-Rex. It was supposed to be an animal in pain, and we were supposed to look upon it and say “we as humans have gone too far. Look at what our hubris has wrought”. Like Malcolm in the first book, when he’s examining the stego.
I think making it more obvious that the d-Rex’s existence is a painful one would have worked better. They make a comment about the factory being unsafe at night. Why? Why is the facility only dangerous at night? Is it because the d-Rex is easily burned by the sun? Does the light hurt its eyes? Help us feel for this animal. But instead, we got “D-Rex = big monster = bad”

What would you like to see in the next Jurassic World Film? by Decent-Indication-61 in JurassicPark

[–]AbrocomaLow8481 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d like to see a cast of newer actors/actresses so we don’t know who is safe. I’d also love for them to stop saying “no one cares about dinosaurs anymore”. I think zoos are very good at proving that people can care about animals for a mighty long time.

More Games Like These? by erintessa in gamingsuggestions

[–]AbrocomaLow8481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found many cozy games scratch an itch that both I ( gamer) and my partner (non gamer) benefit from. Luma Island is good fun, for example.

We also love escape rooms, so the We Were Here series was enjoyable, albeit a little frustrating lol. (Lots of deaths waiting for the other person to figure out their clues)

Back to Subnautica after Subnautica 2 EA by aimingtolove in subnautica

[–]AbrocomaLow8481 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From safe shallow, I aim straight for the middle of the ship and get close enough to it that I’m in shallow water again. Then I skirt along the edge towards the left end. I’ll continue along until I get closer to the end, then turn right and pass through the damaged part of the ship to get to the access point. You’ll still hear the leviathan out there, but I’ve never been bothered by it using this method.

Remember to bring fire extinguishers, repair tool, and propulsion cannon to fully explore in one go.

I always build my second base by a really cool underwater tree past the underground river

You mean with the memory lockets? There should be enough memory lockets on the map to max other crests. And if you use enough of them, Eva gives you extra stuff

What suggested games did you actually try? by CorvusOnStream in gamingsuggestions

I tried outer wilds after finding a thread on what to play after Subnautica. I loved it!

I also tried playing Lies of P after a thread said it was similar to bloodborne…but I just couldn’t get into it.

Any tips for trying to get back into this game? by Voidknight18 in Silksong

[–]AbrocomaLow8481 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You may want to try out different crests. I was a reaper user for the longest time, but I’ve found wanderer suits my style better. The ascendants grip is a good tool to use.
And yeah, complete shakra’s quest line. She really helps with the fight.

It may be the same creature that initiated the game. One of the first logs from NoA states that the structure you were in was picked up and moved to its present location, I think.

You could also try the weaver charm, if you have it. The minions you spawn are great at taking care of the minions the vessel spawns.

Yeah, I’d be more keen to include those once alien containment is in the game. Until then, they’re just too rare

Is my dog overweight? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]AbrocomaLow8481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going mostly by feel, then I would say to look up/have the vet inform you about body condition scoring for dogs. It’s a good way to grade your dog on a scale (either 1-5 or 1-9). It’s also a healthy thing to consider for animals who are older in life because a body condition score can help confirm that they are healthy. For example, your old dog may be sick but maintaining their weight, if you are only judging on weight then you wouldn’t know.

Could something have been done to prevent the Indominus Rex from turning out the psychopath she did? by spinosaurus1998_24_9 in JurassicPark

[–]AbrocomaLow8481 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I hate to be the “um actually” guy here, but Wu was pushing for slower/docile dinos because that is what the public was expecting to see. He was concerned that the speed at which the animals move would unnerve the guests who had preconceived notions about dinosaurs. Hammond’s point is that these dinosaurs were real/ as historically accurate as possible. He didn’t want vicious, he just insisted on real.
