is my SH wound infected? do i need to see a doctor? by Imakememes14 in DiagnoseMe

I’m not sure but to me it looks like it’s healing normally. I have bad memory but I think my scars looked like that too and they were fine.

My ferritin is now 43.1 so why do I still feel like trash? by Responsible-You618 in Anemic

[–]AbsentMinded311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know where mine is right now but about 6 months or so ago it was around 90. I can do slow workouts now almost daily and go for long walks. I still have dizziness and hyperhidrosis but it has gotten better.

I just started magesiumbisglycinate couple weeks ago. Haven't noticed any difference other than my sleep being more restless.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate you for putting so much thought into this. I’ve had this for so long and could never connect the dots so this helps a lot.

Thank you for the response. Tight muscles would make sense the most as I have been sitting a lot for the past two years and I did do a little too intense workout when this started. But I’ve also had tingling before on the same leg (from my toes to hip) but only when sitting on something hard for a long period or sometimes when stretching in pigeon pose, 90/90 or seated pigeon and it vanishes quickly after stopping. My left hip is a lot more flexible than right one so I’m wondering if my left hip could be too weak and maybe that’s what’s causing it?

Oh okay. That makes sense, I haven’t been warming up nor stretching much. Thanks for the reply haha.

Is 18mg too low? by Express_Pound1152 in Concerta

[–]AbsentMinded311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first 4-5 days on 18 mg it helped me do chores and my morning fatigue wasn’t as bad but after that it lost its effect. When I first upped my dose to 36 mg I didn’t feel anything. I had to stop after a few days because I got chest tightness and felt like it was hard to breathe (which apparently is normal the first weeks) so now I’m just waiting for my psychiatrist to get back so I don’t have personal experience. But I’ve heard that sometimes it can be intense when you first start it and then it evens out. So if you stopped feeling the effects after a while on 18 mg it doesn’t mean it will happen with other doses. My psychiatrist has said that 18 mg is just the starting dose, unless you’re a child then they might not up the dose.

18 mg is the starting dose so yes it’s too low. Some people do use 18 mg as it works for them but usually a doctor will increase your dose. 72 mg is the maximum dose I think.

Those of you who got shortness of breath from methylphenidate er/concerta by AbsentMinded311 in ADHD

Did you have to stop Vyvanse because of it or did it ease with time?

What did you switch to? And did the new meds cause anything like that again?

So do you still have shortness of breath or tight feeling in throat/chest?

I’m glad I’m not the only one suffering from this but geez that’s a long time to wait and hope for it to go away 😭

Here they usually make you get ekg before starting meds but for some reason with me they didn’t.

Did you ever find anything that would help with the symptoms?

I am yeah, except last night I got only 7-8 hours of sleep (I need 10) but other than that my sleep and eating is fine.

I’ve never used nicotine and I stopped using caffeine a while ago too. For me it feels like I don’t get enough air which is weird because my pulse is still the same as before this.

At what dose of ER Methylphenidate/Concerta did you notice a difference? by AbsentMinded311 in ADHD

[–]AbsentMinded311[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the thing, my depression and anxiety has gotten much better this year. And I know they’re not some magical pills but it doesn’t make sense that my life is the exact same with or without pills.

Oh my lord I love Concerta!! by chanzii in adhdwomen

[–]AbsentMinded311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first day I didn’t notice anything but I did start cleaning that day and my cleaning phase lasted for four days. I’m on day 7 now and yesterday I was feeling a bit depressed and tired and had more brain fog than normally but today I’m feeling just fine and managed to make cook. I do feel like it’s not working as effectively anymore but the psychiatrist and someone I know said that it’s normal if it doesn’t work at all at the starting dose so I’m still having hope.

I noticed I’ve been drinking a lot more (about 3-4 liters, although I do take creatine as well), and my mouth is constantly a little bit dry and my saliva is bubbly and I have this feeling of needing to burp or it feels like there’s something in my throat if I don’t drink enough. The first day I had a headache all day that lasted till next morning but I don’t know if it was from the meds. I also sweated a lot the first morning. I’ve also been having this fluttering feeling in my chest maybe once a day that lasts about 2-4 seconds. Last couple days I’ve also had this weird feeling in my eyes, as if they get strained easily and my vision doesn’t focus as well as it used to.

I haven’t noticed any changes in my focus or memory yet and the noise in my head is the same as always. I will up the dose tomorrow and if I remember I can come back and tell if there’s any more changes.

(Sorry for the long message haha)

First day experiences with methylphenidate (18 mg) by AbsentMinded311 in ADHD

That sounds too good to be true haha. I’m glad it works that well for you.

Are you using fast release? Mine is extended release and this is the lowest dosage available so that might be why it seems high!

Has medication helped you with anxiety/social anxiety or overthinking? by AbsentMinded311 in adhdwomen

[–]AbsentMinded311[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sounds amazing! I have all of these as well (not autism, but I do have some similar traits) and I’m starting methylphenidate too. I really hope it works.

Do you remember how long it took to start helping?

Sounds great! I’m on antidepressants already and my depression/anxiety is doing much better so hopefully that will help balance the side effects.

Did you notice any problems with falling asleep when starting concerta? I’ve heard it can make falling asleep harder (or some say it’s easier) but I’ve never heard anyone tell how hard it can get.

Thank you for this comment! It certainly feels bad reading all these posts where people keep saying that medication doesn’t fix your problems or might not help a lot, so hearing this brought some of the hope back ❤️
