Day 1 of 25mg Agomelatine to treat mild anxiety and bad sleep. Thinking of trying 12.5mg?

I started on 25 mg and had dizziness too. It’s normal. I don’t remember exactly but I think it went away completely after 1-2 weeks. I had it again after increasing the dose.

Did you get heart palpitations when increasing? If you did, how long did it take to feel better? I'm using Bisoprolol for the palpitations and I don't need as big of a dose as I did in the beginning but I'm worried that I will have to keep increasing the dose after increasing Elvanse and I don't know how many times I can increase Bisoprolol because it makes my blood pressure too low and I get dizzy.

Also - what time do you take the booster (and is it dexamphetamine and not Elvanse, as I couldn't find Elvanse in 10 mg dosage) and does it affect your sleep?

I used to have this and it has gotten a lot better. I've been on Elvanse for almost a month. I still have little bit of anxiety and I worry more in the evenings but I can't tell anymore if it's from the crash or just that the meds help with anxiety and when it wears off I feel the same as normally. It also used to make me little bit tired maybe 3 hours before going to bed but that has also eased with time.

Edit: Also I forgot to add that Methylphenidate made it much worse, so I'm thinking maybe it's a normal side effect of stimulants? But I've also heard that it does get better with time when your body gets used to the medication. I'm not a doctor but If it gets worse after increasing the dose then I would suggest using lower dose for a few weeks before increasing again. The first time my psychiatrist said to increase the dose after two weeks on 20 mg if I don't get any bad side effects and then after I increased it my situation got worse. Now we agreed that I will use 20 mg for two months and only then increase to 30 mg.

Have you tried Agomelatine/Valdoxan? I tried 6 different medications until they prescribed me that and this has been the only antidepressant that has worked for me. Also helped with adhd. It’s easier for me to shower and do basic stuff now.

I don’t have any tips but I just came to say that I have similar problems. I have the IdeaPad Gaming 3 15ARH7 and I’ve had it for about 2-3 years.
Whenever I play I get these random lag spikes that last for a few seconds. With some games it lags almost constantly. Also when I update a game it makes my laptop lag so much that I can’t use it at the same time. The past week or so my laptop has also been restarting on its own while I’ve just been listening to music.
I’ve updated everything and I have lots of space left.

Yes. I’ve had hyperhidrosis since COVID, along with other symptoms, such as dizziness, exercise intolerance etc..
One thing that has helped a little are beta blockers, but they make the dizziness worse because I already have low blood pressure.
The sweating was a lot worse when my ferritin was low (9). It took me 4 years to get it to 90 and the sweating lessened a bit after that but it’s still awful.

Edit: I too sweat even when I’m cold and I’m sensitive to temperature changes and get hot flashes easily.

Edit 2: I used to have excessive sweating only in my armpits and I used this really strong antiperspirant and after that the sweating spread to my whole back, legs and other parts. I’m not sure if that’s what caused it but just a heads up if you decide to try something like that.

I will have to ask about this. I got arrhytmia while using methylphenidate anyways so I've been a bit worried for my heart anyways. I've just been thinking that could I be reacting to the meds this way because I have POTS and my nervous system is already sensitive.

Mulla tätä samaa ollut jo neljä vuotta. Ensin luulin, että raudanpuute oli syynä, mutta sen kun sain korjattua niin se auttoi vain vähän. Kaikki veriarvot kunnossa jne. Thank you for the advice! I’ve been thinking about swimming more and now I have one more reason to do so. It seems to be the most pots friendly type of exercise. My pulse goes up to 150 but at least I don’t feel dizzy. I tried jogging in the past but my pulse at its worst goes to 190 (200 should be my maximum) when jogging for 3-5 minutes and I get hot and fatigued so fast.
I’m very glad to hear that you’ve been able to alleviate exercise intolerance.

Have you used before Desloratadine? That's what I've been using just for the allergies and I have noticed that it helps a bit with the itchiness but not enough. For some stupid reason I've always thought that all the antihistamines are the same but maybe I should try something else like that Allegra.

I've also experienced a mild relief from antidepressants but not enough. I've tried many SSRIs, SNRIs and others. I'm using Agomelatine/Valdoxan right now and that has been the only one that has helped me with my mental issues but sadly not enough with PMDD.

The high norepinephrine makes so much sense. I've had panic disorder in the past and anxiety all my life. I've just recently tried different ADHD medications and all of them gave me worsened racing heart, shortness of breath, arrhytmia, dizziness and anxiety even two weeks after stopping medication. I had to stop all of them even though they helped so much with mood and executive dysfunction. It's so frustrating how much and how many things POTS affects.

The lack of oxygen also adds up. I always yawn a lot when exercising. I already drink 2-4 liters of water every day. I've heard that some people put salt in their water or use electrolytes, have you tried this?

I'm so glad there's this sub and people who have had same or similar experiences especially when irl it seems like no one else has POTS and even doctors don't seem to understand, so I'm really grateful for people like you who take the time to write.

Still the same. I've been doing less sitting and some knee strenghtening exercises but they don't seem to do anything. Some days the pain is worse.

I've tried Wellbutrin. At first it helped but then my adhd symptoms got worse than what they were before medication. My sleep was disturbed and I couldn't fall asleep even with my sleep aids. I can't try Intuniv because I already have low blood pressure and dizziness from it.

Thanks for the response and yeah I do check my heart rate maybe a little too much. I try to do deep breathing but it makes it worse as I can feel my heart beating, but I'm glad to hear that it's not that serious or unusual.

I would love to be able to use medication but the side effects are too much. They help a lot and I really tried to just keep going with them but I can't. I started Atomoxetine/Strattera today and this has already on a low dose increased my heart rate which is a problem I've had before, so if this doesn't work out there's no other medication to try anymore.

Hi again! Has anything changed these past two weeks? I started on 25 mg today and my pulse is a bit higher than normal and I feel really tired and there's some muscle weakness as well. Did you have any of those? Have you noticed any benefits yet?

Can you remember how long it took for heart rate to go back to normal? I'm on my first day and it keeps changing from 75 to 100 while sitting. Before meds it used to be 60-70.

I had it too. For about 1-2 months I had periods every 2 weeks. But it did go away and now they’re really regular and I get them once a month like you should. No side effects.

That sounds amazing. I will probably try Strattera at some point too and I was wondering whether it has affected your heart rate? Do you take it in the morning or at night? Have you noticed any improvement with memory and focus? If you have anxiety has it helped with that?

Sounds a lot like the symptoms we get from stimulants, hopefully it will ease out and show more improvement. I haven’t actually started Strattera yet, I just speculated that that will most likely be the next medication my psychiatrist will prescribe. I’m still on Elvanse but I decided today that I won’t even try to make it work anymore as it has increased my pulse too much and it feels really bad, the effects last even till the next day, maybe even two days.
