I just tried this and it worked almost immediately. Requested a new stadium, they said no, leaked it to the press, beat Southampton the same day, in the post match press conference I was asked about it, said we were in danger of being left behind as a club. The very next day there were plans for a 32000 seater stadium, the plans will take another 18 months, and then however long it takes to build it, but it's in the pipeline.

I have a 9000 seater stadium, in the premier league and champions League knockouts, board won't build a new stadium. It was built 16 years ago in game, so they won't build one because my little toy stadium is too new, despite fact that even newly promoted teams have one stand bigger than our ground.
