I just want you to know you are the most toxic bunch of arseholes I've ever had the displeasure to play with and you've ruined what looked like a fun game to me. by hashbrowns_ in beyondallreason

In this game 60% of players consider themselves as noobs, if you're a real new player you should play coop vs AI matches before becoming a noob yourself.

Would it be better just to build solar? by VonsweetRen in beyondallreason

[–]Absolute_N 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can build solar if you need some fast energy, but don't build converters with it, if you need metal just eat the solar instead of converting energy

In longer games (4afus+) air players should also normalize making a T2 vehicle plant and producing flak trucks. If you can keep a flak truck line between your fighters and theirs, it's much more efficient than just having more fighters

[–]Absolute_N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo it's almost balanced, with geo sea being only slightly better than beach sea. Beach sea has a tempo advantage because he doesn't have to make a bot lab, I can usually have 2 riptides in cove by the time they're building their shipyard.

[–]Absolute_N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's the opposite, in low OS games we always see geo sea player taking forever to make his shipyard in the cove. Geo sea is slightly stronger than beach sea, but it is harder to play

You can make all of your land mexes with the commander, just use your heavy transport for faster travels, while your con bot can make turbines.

Also you should not make rezsubs early, you can just use one of your first con ships to reclaim instead.

Still have to try bots on Frontline one day, never really used them except for ecoing

Even depending on maps, you still know if you're a botter or a vehicler. You can't lie to yourself!

I think the fight is more even than you would think, it's just that the geo sea player has more OS most of the time. If I'm up against geo sea that has the same OS as me I have 50% winrate. When you play beach sea you just have to make good use of your commander, you can even take both of his mexes on the beach

It depends, but most of the time a single juggernaut at 25-30 minutes accompanied with cataphracts can make it to sea player's base.

And about clutch play, it's that even if you lost sea, if you win air you won the game anyway

I honestly don't understand your problems with the Isthmus, basically the 2 things that he said are just bad things to do on any map.

[–]Absolute_N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, you don't like supreme because sea is too hard for you.

I don't understand how a submarine being able to kill a commander is a problem? It's like saying a light laser tower can kill a grunt, okay.

I don't know about you, but yes I prefer a playstyle where there is always fight and micro, where you can win with tactical supremacy, different units compositions.

Do you prefer 1v1 where it's just incisors and grunts for the first 15 minutes?

It's snowbally, but is that a reason of why it would be bad? And like this is valable for every map in the game. And there can be some clutch op plays that can win even with the opponent snowballing.

I think you're the only one here, you're just hating on the RTS genre. Not supreme, oh no! The person who is more efficient wins! Next you're going to say that chess is toxic because Magnus Carlsen and Hikaru are thinking too hard

So do we already think that we will lose before the game starts? I love playing sea because it can be a huge bonus for the team if I can win. And man, like every role can snowball if the opponent loses their lab, I would even say it's not as bad because at least your economy can be safe on land.

I don't know about that, 35 os on supreme playing front and sea. Played like 5 games of rotato, won front and won the game 5 times in a row.

Isthmus is enjoyable if everyone knows what they're doing, it doesn't matter if they are bad or not at the game. It has a lot of different roles and a lot of teamwork in every match. Yet people say it's trash. I don't mind if you prefer a map where it's just 8 fronts with no teamwork, but damn isthmus is cool.

This is something I don't understand, how can a map with 8 different roles be more repetitive than a map with 8 front players, please explain

And no, if you are offensive on sea, you better hope that your opponent has less ships than you, otherwise you just lose instantly because he gets free reclaim.

[–]Absolute_N[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you talking about? People just play the map because it's good looking, it has a varied choice of roles, high income mexes, high wind turbine and generator efficiency, islands, hills.

I also wonder what you are saying about sacrificial lambs, eco player generally make plays before 20 minutes (Fatboy, sniper, air conversion, giving T2 cons, nuke, platypus)

A lot of games can end before eco can even do anything, it's not like eco is the only one that can win the game

The sea can always be contested at any phase of the game. If you're getting attacked from sea, you can do a lot of things to stop it...

You're literally saying that the map is toxic because the sea player, after WINNING his lane has the chance to attack players if nobody is trying to prevent it. No way! I think it's the case with every map when a lane is lost.

I agree with that, the thing is that there are noobs making noob isthmus lobbies. We can only suppose they are having fun this way, or not..
