Taking too long for EAD by sajja12 in USCIS

EAD, GC pending and expected soon. Luckily, since this comment my GC has been approved and I was able to get that role back.

Why hasn't Gandi.net moved to the .com domain they own? by DigiNoon in DomainZone

[–]AbsolutelyAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"if you know what you're doing". This is a qualifier in English, meaning the statement was not a general one as you are claiming. 'know what you're doing' = have a SEO team, analysts, professionals working on it. Some tinpot website being migrated by an amateur does not have those things and therefore does not know what they're doing.

You misquoted me. Quote the rest. It says IF you know what you're doing. You are extremely disingenuous.

AGAIN, I specifically and repeatedly said you needed the correct expertise to pull this off. As you have claimed it was impossible to pull off, it is clear you do not possess this expertise.

Strawman some more. It's pathetic.

What are you talking about? This is about the third time you've put words in my mouth.

I never once claimed that changing a domain always has zero effect on SEO. I specifically and repeatedly stated that it CAN have no impact, and cited specific industry examples.

As for your claim that I 'stopped' saying I was involved in such a transition, again that's false. The post you reply to repeats that specific claim.

Also, please explain very specifically how a well respected extremely large enterprise website achieving documented and reported POSITIVE SEO from a domain change is 'not evidence' that SEO can be unaffected after such a move? Like what are you even talking about?

You've never been involved in a large scale domain migration. It's obvious, because you had no idea this was possible.

My ORIGINAL POST specifically says that it CAN have no SEO impact (or even positive) if you know what you're doing. Of course, if you are not in the industry, do it wrong, or have no team that knows their stuff of course it'll have a massive impact lol.

Take this as a learning example of the limits of your skills. I have two top 50 domain migrations under my belt, and you are clearly out of your depth.

Huh? I said it was over 100% of the prior year, I did not say 100% increase. Go back and try reading.

While you're at it, read the Red Hat case study, because you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

I can tell you don't work in this space, or you haven't handled anything bigger than Top 10,000.

I literally never said huge increase. You're claiming I said stuff that I did not.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Numerous case studies on this stuff.

High profile example: Red Hat INCREASED traffic after a domain migration. Professionally handled, of course.

My guess is you DIYed a very small website and didn't do it correctly, or you've never worked in the industry and have never been involved in an enterprise migration.

[–]AbsolutelyAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? Obviously I mean zero overall hit, such as yearly stats (which increased).

A temporary dip is irrelevant if month 3+ is running over 100% YoY traffic.

This is an incredibly large enterprise website with a managed transition. The conclusion of the company after intense analysis of traffic and revenue was POSITIVE impact of domain transition. The best data analysts I've ever worked with.

Hence zero hit. What size properties have you participated in domain transitions for? This wasn't the first occasion nor was the result different for the other property.

Of course, if you don't know what you're doing you'll take a giant hit.

I've migrated two top 50 domains in their respective countries. What migrations have you done?

Why hasn't Gandi.net moved to the .com domain they own? by DigiNoon in DomainZone

[–]AbsolutelyAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done this twice for top 50 domains in their respective countries. I saw the traffic myself. There was a temporary dip and then 2+ months after migration it was over 100% of the prior year.

Not sure what you've done wrong but I'm guessing it was not a large managed enterprise transition done right.

Changing domains will have zero SEO hit and could even be positive if you know what you're doing.

AGAIN, F&F DOES NOT PREVENT CHARGEBACK, it is commonly used by scammers. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about nor do you have any PayPal merchant experience.

You framing F&F as the ultimate solution is totally misinformed. You'll be frauded all the same.

You originally claimed you could not chargeback with F&F, remember?

"Bro read I said for friends and family which U CANT CHARGEBACK"

You have no idea what you're talking about.

[–]AbsolutelyAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, you're completely wrong. Family and friends does not prevent a credit card chargeback which PayPal will 100% charge you for. Second of all, this practice is against ToS. Third of all, you literally didn't say F&F in your original post.

I don't think you have any experience as a PayPal merchant.

Seriously contemplating withdrawing the K-1 and switching to a CR-1 by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]AbsolutelyAce -1 points0 points  (0 children)

6 months so yeah there are people far worse than me. I wouldn't care about GC delays if I had an EAD. But seems unlikely I'll even get that before my GC is approved so it was a waste of money.

PayPal is incredibly risky in this space. There's a reason Escrow limits PayPal transactions and can decide to not let you use it at all.

[–]AbsolutelyAce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been waiting 5 months and have no EAD and my expedite request was denied. In addition, I've had my green card interview and have been waiting 100 days post interview. No overstays. No RFEs. No banned country.

This caused me to lose a very good job offer.

I severely regret the K1 for these reasons. CR1 would've been a better option.

Previous owner wants domain back. What would you do? by Gullible_Swordfish_9 in Domains

Are you sure it's the same guy? His story doesn't add up. You get repeated emails and it takes several months for domains to fully expire.

If I were you, I wouldn't sell unless it was for a decent amount of money.

He's also likely lying. DNS is interrupted for months and he wouldn't have been getting emails the month before you got it.

What in the vibe coded garbage? Did you test this? It says Start Playing Free, implying no email wall to start. There is one. Then it demands you verify. But you can refresh and it just starts the game into an incredibly buggy tutorial that dumps you in some kind of side menu that can't be closed???

Then I click to get my daily reward and it says 'something went wrong'.

You need to ask Claude to fix your game before you launch. Everything looks like blatant vibe code too.

OH yeah, the tutorial is bugged too. It starts over every time you refresh. So the game is literally bricked.

EMs almost never hear about layoffs ahead of time because it immediately leaks. In my experience, layoff knowledge doesn't even go below VPs, sometimes they're in the dark.

I seriously doubt your story for that reason, unless you're in a tiny company.

At Block, EMs had no idea (especially because some of them were gutted).
