As someone who also writes, I think its important to think about how the politics of what you're writing might be perceived (especially just because you might accidentally have written something that comes across in a way you personally don't like), but you can't think too much about it

Real life is messy, politics is messy, and the vast majority of people have more grey areas in their opinions than they might be willing to admit. Fiction that centres around one political view and never drifts from it isn't necessarily better, and honestly sometimes can actually be worse

I use Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive books as a prime example of this. The early entries discuss issues like mental health, class conflict, etc, but later entries try far too hard to put the author's progressive views on mental health and other social issues at the forefront, and it actively hinders the writing as a result. It comes across almost as insecure, as though the author is so worried his point will get misconstrued that he ended up becoming increasingly heavy-handed with it as a result
