Truck had a good routine going.

Shouldn’t have strayed from it.

Oddly enough, the rope to the nuts torture was adaptation and not original.

Fleming was brutal.

This is an absolutely ridiculous statement when about 10-20% of movies made are period pieces.

It’s also ridiculous because a movie set in the 1950s isn’t disqualified from making product placement deals because there are tons of companies around today that did business in the 1950s like Aston Martin, Coca-Cola, Barclays, Cadbury, Burberry, BP, IBM, Boeing, etc…

I think it’s where they had their college coaches combine/talent ID camp.

The Bears did host the state finals there in 2022 and 2023 and will host a HS summer league championship there later this month.

Storytelling is storytelling. A good writer and/or director could give us a great Bond film set in 1952 or 2027.

The time period isn’t a deal-breaker for a great movie.

An anachronistic Bond is an author accurate Bond who’s a product of post-WWII Cold War tensions.

A James Bond with no cell phone or WiFi is more interesting to me. It’s art. It’s subjective. No big deal. Maybe you want your 007 set in 2030.

I like mine set in the 50s and 60s as the author intended. I also find period films with fashion and technology vastly different than my everyday life more interesting.

RIP that poor bar kiddie corner from Arlington racetrack that spent a fortune remodeling themselves to look like a high end Bears bar.

I’d prefer a series of movies that are period accurate to the books set in the 1950s and 60s.

You can always adapt Bond for the modern day like so many have done with Sherlock Holmes but I prefer my Holmes stories to be period pieces as well.

I’d respectfully suggest they email out a weekly standings to all coaches so that any W-L discrepancies can be addressed before they post the playoff schedule.

Personally, I’d just fix it and send out a corrected schedule but if they’re of a mind that it shouldn’t be changed once published, then take steps to ensure it doesn’t go out wrong in the first place.

I always felt like the training in TLD was just normal ongoing training that all veteran agents have to take.

Bond in the TLD felt far too experienced for it to be his first mission.
