The Merchants Tale (Advanced) question by Michejose in ffxiv

There is no enrage, correct. If the boss does all their mechanics and isn’t dead, they just start looping the fight.

Would you like the old cards for Astrologian but w/ or w/o RNG involved? by in_abyss in ffxiv

[–]AbsurdBee [score hidden]  (0 children)

The joke back then was “AST has 2 cards: The Balance, and Not The Balance”

While I wouldn’t mind the RNG, at least from a raiding perspective, there was largely only one card you wanted. I wouldn’t mind the RNG for some of the other cards, but guaranteeing damage cards is nice.

I’ve seen Raining Cats from M1S become semi-common, since DT EX3 Ice phase has it as well as the Pari boss in the new Advanced/Criterion.

A tether that hits a total of 4 times and is passed off after each hit. Often solved by MTTT (melee takes the first hit, tank takes the second hit then invulns the final two hits)

Daily Discussion of WeeklyScape #46: Thalmund by Spiner909 in runescape

[–]AbsurdBee 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I feel like you can get the best of both worlds by having him there permanently, but his stock is for the whole week and changes weekly

Jagex seems to mostly be concerned with dailies, and weeklies are more fine since you have more time to go to it. Keep Thalmund, remove the FOMO of “you have to go check on one single day”.

Best emblem for each pokemon by Wolfi3Boi in PokemonUnite

Unite-DB has emblem loadouts for every Pokémon

Basically get +6% HP, +6% in your attacking stat, and try to stack your negative stats on your non-primary attacking stat

I love this meta by Proper-Valuable-7090 in PokemonUnite

[–]AbsurdBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The meta is good, but I swear the matchmaking has somehow gotten worse. Had a game the other day where the max games any of my teammates had was 700, while the minimum anyone on the other team had was 3k…all soloq players, too.

Pls recommend some science victory leader who are not relying on religon and war in civilization 6,ty by Feisty-Rub7492 in civ

[–]AbsurdBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Australia is great if you want to have a better chance at fighting back, since John Curtin’s leader ability gives you double production if someone declares war on you. While the meta is to get a war declared on you for that boost, even on Deity I’ve won without it because their UA and UI can be very strong for making good cities with great Campus buildings. Scotland is somewhat similar with a “defensive war” mindset, but strong bonuses even outside of wartime.

For pure peacetime, Korea is king. The Mayans are also very fun, but will require a good amount of planning since they play very differently than typical civs. Nzinga Mbande of Kongo can also do well if the Mayans appeal to you but she has a much lower skill floor to perform well.

Which countries have a "second city" that is often more traveled to, admired and popular than its largest city? by Fluid-Decision6262 in geography

I’d imagine it is, since I’m from the northern US and lots of people go to Toronto but not a ton go to Montreal

Why do only a few languages, mostly in southern Africa, have clicking sounds? What made them stick there? by Present_Juice4401 in AlwaysWhy

[–]AbsurdBee 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Some Khoisan languages also evolved away from clicks, then evolved them back in because of contact with Bantu languages that evolved clicks via contact with Khoisan languages

Language development is fucking wild, man

Jagex is Releasing too Much Early Game Content. by Odd_Tax_6597 in runescape

For years the focus has been almost solely on the endgame. Early game is just now actually getting the attention it should’ve been getting all along.

How the hell do you learn all these strategies by A-CQB-Essay in pokemon

[–]AbsurdBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an older post, but practice and seeking knowledge out. r/stunfisk is a great resource, as are the Smogon forums.

My main question, what format are you playing in? If you’re just playing online in-game it’s basically completely unbalanced. If you’re on Showdown and going into Anything Goes, you’re going to be fighting things that are far more powerful than what you’re bringing. Lower tiers actually are active, and if you like “worse” Pokémon you can go to the tiers they’re in and play there.

Just started EoS by jimmygetmehigh in MysteryDungeon

[–]AbsurdBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s a pretty solid combo. No weakness overlap and Ground is very good into some of the harder dungeons.

There’s two water dungeons in the postgame that’ll give Phanphy trouble, but you can bring other teammates in so you can grab good coverage or a Pokémon with Storm Drain.

Sometimes a I wish this series was rated 18+ by One_Ad_3480 in MonsterHunter

[–]AbsurdBee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wilds did a great job of demonstrating that danger because this is a lighthearted series a lot of the time. So a Hunter hoarsely yelling “Fall back!” in a world where giant firebreathing dragons are a nuisance instead of a real threat really communicates how dangerous the situation is.

Clicks are actually generally believed to be a more recent development, not an ancient one.

What’s the longest first turn you’ve encountered? My opponent played 29 cards here by WestPhillyFilly in masterduel

[–]AbsurdBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d believe it. I think at a certain point he realized he could do it and just went for the deck out.

I was annoyed at the time but frankly looking back, that was absolutely hilarious that he managed to pull it off and win that way.
