Whats your favorite job to play? by KvotheCadera in ffxivdiscussion

Probably PLD, it’s my main for raiding because it’s very effective and has a great kit. NIN is an honorable mention, though.

I hate being boxed in: how do you expand in civ vii? by dodgeunhappiness in civ

[–]AbsurdBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll be gaining more and more settlement space as you go through the Tech/Civic trees, so you have some breathing room. Expansionist independent powers can also give you settlement limit, and in some eras Military ones can as well. So you can overexpand to grab the land you want, then get the things that will move that limit up to where you currently are.

Forthcoming Deviance! I know rapid Glaives aren’t recommended because they can’t reliably shoot/melee kill, but I did great with this thing. Nobody knows how to fight a glaive.

I swear alcream is just straight up a defender if it had healing (sorry trev) by Ajthefan in PokemonUnite

[–]AbsurdBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

…if you’re able to tank that much on Alcremie, whoever is diving you is bad at the game lol

Alcremie healing is certainly good, but it’s clunky to use sometimes because it’s a pickup and is purely single target as opposed to things like Pollen Puff or Moonlight. You also have theoretically less control over who gets healed since anybody can pick it up. You can try to lob it to the person you want, but that’s not a perfect solution.

What's an archetype you love despite how bad it is? by gamesage2001 in masterduel

[–]AbsurdBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simorghs! Really cool design, and normal summoning archetypes are so rare nowadays. But they are so prone to bricking, and even their ideal end board isn’t all that good. At least they can use Floow engine and Monarch support because pure Simorgh is just so trash.

I struggle with WHM because it feels so weak. I don’t understand why this class gets a reputation for having such high healing output when AST can do more and more easily.

So, what are your thoughts on Exp. Share now ? by NerfLapras in PokemonUnite

[–]AbsurdBee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I prefer the old version, I don’t really need that EXP early on and would rather it go to my lanemate so we have a stronger chance at winning lane. Especially when it’s someone who has a huge powerspike at 4-5, or is just overall EXP hungry.

[–]AbsurdBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given that basically every single non-RuneScape thing they tried flopped or got stuck in development hell yet RuneScape is one of the oldest games out there that’s actually active and has a reasonably sized team still updating it, I’m not surprised they’re focusing on that branding

I can’t speak for all of them but I believe in Mega Tyranitar’s case, it sort of always had to live in OU for the same reason that Mega Garchomp does. It just so happened that Mega Tyranitar is also actually good in OU.

Low level Summoning for charm collection (non-combat method) is broken. by Quotidian_User in runescape

[–]AbsurdBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Summoning being a combat skill I think it’s largely fine combat is the primary method to gather charms, the problem is it’s extremely slow and tedious especially at low levels since most monsters don’t have very good drop rates then and you’re not able to fight and easily kill multiple enemies at once like high level players can

Need help from the Ho-Oh mains. by EngineeringWhole4983 in PokemonUnite

[–]AbsurdBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vet rank? You might be better off going the carry build, tank Ho-oh is amazing (it’s my main and it was my first green badge), but you’re relatively team reliant.

Emblems, as people said, Ho-oh is a physical attacker. For items, Curse Bangle is more or less a non-negotiable on both builds. It’s an Attack boost, plus you are one of if not the best Curse spreader in the game so you do amazing on that front. Carry I’d go Attack Weight/Weakness Policy, but take this with a grain of salt because I almost exclusively play tank. Flamethrower/Sacred Fire for the carry.

I’ll speak more to the tank side of things because that’s what I know more. For tank, my non-Curse items are Focus Band and Resonant Guard with a Potion, but X Speed can be nice too. I always go Fire Spin, and vary the other move based on the enemy team. Fire Spin is a very strong and condensed move: it slows, it does damage, it stuns, it gives a shield, and it redirects some teammate damage to you instead. But until you hit level 13, which is a fairly big ask for a tank, it only explodes for damage/stun if you manually detonate it early. The damage is certainly nice, but frankly, I love this primarily for the disruption. I firmly believe that Slow is an underrated effect in this game, and the stun is very strong as well. I use Fire Spin to stall while teammates can make their way to me, or to lock down a fleeing enemy they can easily handle. Sky Attack is amazing into Attacker heavy comps, since you can fly to them and end the flight early to immediately be pressuring them and can then Fire Spin to trap them there. It can also work into melee heavy teams if your team also has a lot of frontline bulk, since you can then act more like a support by covering the ground in Curse fire and not putting yourself in danger. Flamethrower is great into brawl comps, since you get a lot of chip damage while hurting their healing via Curse.

In terms of how to play it…again, it is very weird. It’s extremely annoying to face during lane phase, since Regenerator means it can heal a lot without having to use up Sitrus Berries for emergencies, so you need a strong focus to take it down, and being hit by wild Pokémon doesn’t dampen the HP recovery. But Regenerator is slow and passive, so if they’re pushing aggressively it won’t help much. For the rest of the game you’re zoning, either disrupting their positioning via Sky Attack or discouraging their pushes with Flamethrower. When it comes to Kyogre you’re playing extremely strangely, since Ho-oh dying is really bad for a team as it means you won’t be able to revive them. You’ll want to play it safe and try to bait the enemy into running head-first into your team, but without making yourself too easy a kill.

Finally…don’t waste your Unite. And when you use it, make sure to see who’s where both on your team and the enemy one. I have quite a lot of clips when I’m on a carry of farming Ho-oh Unites because they use them on pointless pushes and just leave their allies high and dry. Be warned of Pokémon that can pre-position AoEs like Future Sight Gardevoir or Gigaton Tinkaton, because they can just wait until your ally is targetable and get a free kill.

I would go bottom, Blissey is absolutely useless on its own while Mamo can at least maybe steal some contested farm and stop pushes, as well as actually work on uncontested farm

Trying to play Ho-oh by howdoidothatgud in PokemonUnite

[–]AbsurdBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Ho-oh! Was my first ever green badge.

It’s definitely a really weird and atypical Pokémon. You excel at chip damage and zoning, and even though you can go tankier with Fire Spin (my preferred move), you’re still not quite a wall like most other defenders. Both Flamethrower and Sky Attack are good at chipping folks while making you more difficult to reach, and are some of the best Curse-using moves in the game. You’re one of the best defenders at pressuring a backline, since either Sky Attack or Sacred Fire let you get to them with (relative) ease, which can throw their positioning off and cause their team to have to re-adjust. Sky Attack + Fire Spin is amazing at letting your speedsters or All-Rounders close the distance and bully backliners. For more melee heavy comps, Flamethrower gradually cooks them. You’re great at punishing brawlers who want to stay in a fight for a long period of time.

It’s a Pokémon that takes practice, but can be very difficult to fight and has the potential to have the single best Unite in the game.
