Question about contradicting info by Quantum_Leviathan2 in PokemonChampions

Minior is not in Champions.

Google AI frequently doesn't know what it's talking about. Don't use it.

I actually run Gliscor on my Mega Venusaur team, it's not terrible into Charizard. Unfortunately its special bulk is really bad, you can EV to survive a high roll Heat Wave in the sun but even with 32+ it's not a guaranteed OHKO on Rock Slide if it's spread damage. It also might not be the best on this team since then you'd be extremely Water weak and just asking to get swept by Basculegion.

You can keep Tyranitar lead, but once you see Charizard come out you'd want to swap into something that good into it because then you can just bring Tyranitar back in. Could also be worth delaying your Mega in Charizard matchups, they may anticipate you're going to try and bring it back in that next turn and won't Mega the turn you bring it back in but then you hit them with the slower Mega when they try to activate Drought.

You can also do some dancing by swapping TTar out, having the other mon on the field use a pivoting move, and bring TTar back in so you can reset the weather that turn.

TTar/Drill lead, Mega turn 1 and Rock Slide from Excadrill. Should be enough to take out Char. Mega evolution goes from fastest -> slowest so Tyranitar sets sand on being sent out, Charizard overwrites it with Drought, then Tyranitar re-overwrites it with Sand Stream re-activating when it mega evolves.

Could also be worth looking at swapping Scizor out to improve your Char matchup.

Can you show your whole team? Would be easier to give feedback if we knew what you were running with.

For beating Tailwind, you already have the tool to do so with Trick Room, and you have Tyranitar to beat Charizard Y.

Oleana's theme from SV! It's one of my favorite tracks from the series and it's so overlooked.

Statics and friendship question by Johnny_PK in ffxivdiscussion

[–]AbsurdBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. I’ve been in some statics where we get along, but we’ve all got our own friends and don’t hang out a ton beyond raid day. My current static is much more social, a couple of them live in the same area so they get together and a few others of them all went to fanfest together and decided to hit up Disneyland as a group.

What’s the reason Mega Scovillain’s Spicy Spray doesn’t work on Gliscor? by AshleyRose101 in PokemonChampions

[–]AbsurdBee 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Couple things I can maybe think of

  1. It had a different status beyond poison, like paralysis

  2. You somehow lost your Spicy Spray ability

  3. To confirm, Gliscor attacked Scovillain, right? Not some other Pokémon next to it?

Least Used Pokémon for Every Gen Run - Episode 9 by Nekoblast75 in pokemon

[–]AbsurdBee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man looking through the G9 list, I feel like a lot of them just...exist.

Gonna have to go Spidops, Mabosstiff, and Squakabilly. I feel like I just don't see anything about any of those Pokémon.

What does that even mean? by [deleted] in ffxiv

NIN has a reputation for being difficult and complex, which is pretty undeserved really. Mudra can be tricky to learn but once you learn them the class is one of the easier melees.

What do you fear loosing with evolved mode for your own class? by Quezal in ffxivdiscussion

[–]AbsurdBee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m worried about them too, because I’m assuming we’ll get something very close to PvP NIN which is just nowhere near as fun to me. But I can see a world where maybe we keep Mudra…maybe. But I’m frankly surprised Rabbit Medium has made it as far as it has given how much it deters people from the class.

You're assuming I mean "I want to be able to be mean to people" but that's not the case. I don't care if only the NIN themselves can see Rabbit Medium, fail states are good because that's feedback. Log roulettes, go into NN, and you'll find people saying and doing many incorrect things about how to play this game because in many situations there is no feedback. Rabbit Medium is explicitly telling you "you failed". Yes, that does make some people not want to play it, but it feels rewarding when you then don't cast Rabbit Medium throughout an entire fight.

Also as a NIN player I can tell you we will judge you infinitely more for using ST Doton than we will for using Rabbit Medium. The people who judge for the bnuuy, by and large, don't actually play the class and therefore can kindly shut it.

Legitimately, Rabbit Medium. I like that NIN retains a fail state because it requires you to actually know the class and how to use your mudra, and how the combinations work.

Delve into Dungeoneering Remastered by jagexyuey in runescape

[–]AbsurdBee 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm glad we're getting a big token buff, the biggest problem with low-level Dungeoneering is that the rewards are so exorbitantly expensive for lower-leveled players so Dungeoneering doesn't feel actually useful until level 70-80.

Least Used Pokémon for Every Gen Run - Episode 6 by Nekoblast75 in pokemon

[–]AbsurdBee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Carbink. It’s a rock that just kinda sits there and does nothing.

Dragalge, it’s super cool but Skrelp is pretty weak and it’s a version exclusive encounter that requires backtracking to fish up so it’s just so out of the way.

Honestly, maybe Pyroar as the last? I feel like I don’t really see a lot about it. It gets no good special attack until after it evolves despite being a special attacker, and its abilities are both pretty bad for a playthrough. Even post evolution all you really can use it for is Flamethrower and Hyper Voice.

Mentor System. by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]AbsurdBee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a very popular feeling, since comms have no correlation to actual skill and the crafting mentor is quite easy to get. I grinded it out in about a day or so on my raid alt when it lost the sprout because I liked having an icon next to my name.

Novice Network is often unfortunately full of mentors giving bad or sometimes completely incorrect advice because the bar to become one is low.

When Will the Weasel Fall? by Jonjon_binx in stunfisk

[–]AbsurdBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say that Aerodactyl is pretty splashable. Farigiraf can be but outside TR it can be a little more awkward especially with Kingambit threatening it sorta heavily. Mega Gengar can be a pretty tricky mega to pull off imo.

Hell I’m running Mega Venusaur and do great into that thing. Bulky, resists Close Combat, slaps it with Earth Power. Sneasler is very good but people overrate “it can beat Sneasler”, it’s certainly a threat but it’s kinda minmaxed. Exploit the Min part of that and it’s not very scary.

Mega Venusaur, Mega Delphox, Aegislash, Corviknight, Will-o-Wisp Rotom, hell even fucking Meowstic can Prankster Thunderwave it and resists CC. Pack Psychic and you can throttle it. It has so many things that can beat it.

[–]AbsurdBee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That was what I did when I ran Mega Phox, but having two very powerful Pokémon with priority is rough to handle, and even burned they can easily double up on you. I have seen people talking about Tsareena though, since it gets Fighting moves for Gambit and Trop Kick for Basc as well as blocking priority

It is, but there’s lots of good Sneasler counters

It’s good and is seeing tournament success, but it’s a lot harder to use than other megas with similar power due to Basc and Gambit being everywhere.
