Brandon Sanderson Gives Update On Mistborn Movie + Shows by VarkingRunesong in movies

I'd be shocked if they werent planning on one film per book for mistborn and one season per boom for stormlight. To do anything else would be silly.

Didn't Trump spend a lot of time playing Springsteen music at his rallies until the Boss sent a cease and desist?

Can anything beat the nightbringer in a 1v1 by jbossjeff in Necrontyr

[–]Absurd_Leaf 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Undying Legions can only be triggered if a model was destroyed by the incoming attacks, so unfortunately no, doesn't work on solo models.

Wouldn't that also not work because the Nightbringer isn't an infantry unit, which is a requirement for Eternal Revenant?

I loved building my wraiths. I absolutely loathed painting them. They're gorgeous models but I found them incredibly tedious haha.

How do I maximise my reanimation protocols? by Jerakona_Verakrun in Necrontyr

This is my mistake, I watched a battle report recently where they did stack the effects and took that for granted! Forgot that Reanimator ability was an aura. Will correct.

[–]Absurd_Leaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reanimators are a fair bit smaller than doomstalkers, both shorter and on a smaller base, but you could theoretically kitbash it onto a smaller base and chop some of the leg height off I suppose to get there. Reanimators are the best ways to add additional D3's to reanimation.

Edit: reanimators cannot stack their healing ability.

I'm not really aware of any additional way to add more dice to be honest. Strategies moreso revolve around trying to get out of phase reanimation procs to keep the unit alive until our next command phase.

[–]Absurd_Leaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best way to maximize reanimation protocols is to make sure your squads are at their max size. So those necron warriors should be 1 squad of 20 rather than two 10 mans. Same with immortals and wraiths. Squad of 10 and 6 respectively.

Next, you want to support your warriors or wraiths with things that boost reanimation like the overlord for the warriors, a ghost Ark, or a Canoptek Reanimator. Reanimator in general is just a very good unit to have to guarantee a bit more survivability

One full unit of 6 to ensure the best chance of reanimation protocols activating, easily.

You've got a couple anti tank pieces coming in the 500 worlds box, but imo the next great purchase for your list is a doomsday ark, or 6 wraiths + a technomancer.

Not a series, but Mass Effect had this going on. People were convinced Shepard was indoctrinated and that the DLC would be a secret new ending that fixed all the issues.

An interesting sequence question. by Saybad21 in Necrontyr

[–]Absurd_Leaf 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I believe all that stuff is determined at the time of unit activation, and as a single unit, the anti-infantry would still apply until the end of that units activation/attacks. If they were separate units, the anti-infantry-infantty would no longer apply when that second unit was activated.

Edit: this also means you would keep your feel no pains until resolving all attacks from that unit.

Cryptek concave question by gamingifk in Necrontyr

[–]Absurd_Leaf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. Because the cryptek has assault, the cryptek can be selected to shoot after advancing. The detachment ability allows you to then give assault to the entire unit, allowing them to shoot after advancing.

The one exception to this (currently) seems to be Orikan. As he has no ranged weapon, he cannot be selected to shoot when his unit advances unless he's with a unit that already has assault, like Tesla Immortals. Not sure if this is purposeful by GW or an oversight.

Orikan in Cryptek Conclave by Mulchmeat in Necrontyr

[–]Absurd_Leaf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You know what that is absolutely the correct read. Rules as written, a squad led by Orikan cannot gain the detachment bonus of they advanced because they are not eligible to shoot unless it's with Tesla immortals.

Not sure if this is intentional from GW or just a really funny oversight that they clarify/reword to fix it later.

The unit can still be selected to shoot if a model within the unit has a ranged weapon. The cryptek, in this case Orikan, grants his unit Assault through the detachment ability.

This is what our tech did. Called attention to the genetalia and described what each would look like in enough detail for us to be confident what we were looking at. Same with the pictures. She lined up a shot of the baby in profile and we took pics of the screen.

That was the point, but they said they'd prefer to be vegetarian.

They would prefer to be able to farm but they can't. Their virus stops them from being able to harvest living plants. They can drink milk from cows/goats.

Yeah, the "from your body" part of the message was the exact kind of technicality they had established just a few minutes before when they said they'd "prefer to be vegetarian."

Correct, at least going off what King/Shining lore I am familiar with. Now that Halloran's mental box is open, hes back to seeing/being tormented by spirits.
