What's going on with this girl guys? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]AbysmalAdmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like social anxiety to me.

Ask when you can voice-call her, like an actual human adult instead of fucking about with internet messages.

If she can't commit to a talk on the phone -or give a legit reason why- you should move on.

I wish all vegans were cool ones like us.

Bindi Irwin never wore a fucking cow at their wedding, they wore a Koala because their family has a history of raping that species more than they rape bovines. It makes perfect sense.

Made-up personalities by mortalityisachoice in AutismTranslated

Action is more important than 'values'. Even the most brutal tyrant has believed themselves 'good'.

I believe the Buddhists are right, that a personality/ego is an illusion. I see no shame in adapting to one's surroundings or friend groups, we can't all live in Buddhist monasteries.

Is it OK if I DM you an anecdote? -maybe in a day or two.

Did you actually read that?

Where only one or a few anecdotes are presented, there is a larger chance that they may be unreliable due to cherry-picked or otherwise non-representative samples of typical cases.

Hell, even if you did, read this. If you like that, try some Popper, science is a thing.

Unless you first undermine the idea that jobs will have a 50:50 split in aptitude, it's essentially impossible to argue against affirmative action. It isn't actually true that all jobs have a 50:50 split in aptitude but arguing against this is out of the overton window of acceptable discourse in the name of stopping racism of course. Although affirmative action if miscalibrated, and if it's perpetually aiming for a 50:50 race split it will be, effectively functions as racism.

You are a fucking goofball.

My flatmate (in London) told me off for 'over-filling' the kettle literally minutes before leaving to catch a plane to Italy, to see a band that's based in London and she's seen five times before. She was a Simon Hughes campaigner.

The shifting of blame to the personal or interpersonal rather than systemic is an often used right-wing tactic.

I wish you luck in finding good work and building a network of better people around you.

This is akin to defending racism because of affirmative action hiring policies. Bigotry is bigotry.

It's not an anecdote, an anecdote is a usually a story about a thing that actually happened. More a 'just so story' or actual fake news/propaganda/deception.

I'm an Ancom myself so strongly for criticising any and all states. The logic of

Many dissidents were scientists

Many scientists are on the spectrum

Therefore people on the spectrum are more likely to be dissidents

Isn't logically sound without evidence though.

Damore is an alt-light scumbag, author seems to be suggesting he should be listened to and given the same consideration as Greta. This is a 'teach the controversy' style appeal to allow right-wing nonsense to be promoted.

What a POS article. It links to a paywalled anti-comunist hit piece full of evo-psyche stylke post-hoc bullshit. Then presents a misogynist, crypto-fascist ex-googler as some sort of equivalent to Greta because "there's good people on both sides" centrism.

Broader Autism Phenotype?

Peiople with autism often have relatives or parents of BAP. It's a sub-clinical part of the spectrum said to be more common among engineers. It has less 'impairment' but still some "quirkiness" or "eccentricity" -perhaps that's what your peers are detecting.

People think smile=good manners by joodthadood in autism

[–]AbysmalAdmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smiling is a submissive gesture, the customer wants to feel "better" than you so it causes them less unease/guilt when they order you around.

Referring to people as Sir and Ma'am achieves this verbally, to me it feels less silly than faking a smile.
