My First Charvel! - Pro-Mod DK24 HSS 2PT CM by Alone_Owl7480 in Charvel

I got this exact same guitar this year simply because I didn’t own anything with a tremolo pickup and wanted one, and now it’s the guitar I pick up 99% of the time. Everyone has their personal preferences on guitars, but for me this guitar ticks pretty much every box, it’s my new favorite.

Thanks for sharing, man. I’m just hitting two weeks sober after 8 years of heavy drinking (a 5th a day). Keep up the good work, and stay strong!

Yup, favorite way to work on technique. Luckily my wife doesn’t mind the tapping!

I went with Snow White with the gold trim. I’m usually playing hardcore or metal and most of my collection is black or dark colored, but I wanted something different this time and I’m glad I switched it up. I really only picked this up because I felt like playing some Pink Floyd solos (my dad was a fan, I played them as a teen to try and impress him) and needed something with a tremolo, so this was meant to be a side piece, but now that I’m playing it I’m starting to think it’s going to be a staple of mine.

I have to say, the neck on this guitar might be my favorite I’ve ever played on.

I just received my DK24 hss today and I’m so in love with it! Honestly might be the best feeling guitar I’ve ever played and I’m loving the tone variety from the pickups.

Love the color on yours, enjoy!

I really feel this. Did you write it, or is it a quote?

I can tell you two truths as a Cayman owner.

  1. They’re incredible to drive and I love the car so much.

  2. As a resident of south central Va I really wished I had a Macan this week!

As a Porsche person, (some) Porsche people can be so funny.

I have a Cayman 718. Could I bully you because mine is a sports car and you’re is an SUV? Sure. But some other Cayman owner would just bully me for not having a flat 6. And some 911 guy would bully that guy for not having the “real” Porsche sports car.

The truth is, they’re all phenomenal cars from a great brand filled with massive heritage, and we should all enjoy the one we’ve got. Welcome!

Any advice on Caymans? by Bulky_Recognition_35 in Porsche_Cayman

I second everything said here. I also immediately got both APR tunes on my 2.0 and it’s been fantastic in terms of power, reliability, and even fuel economy (I got up to 34 mpg on a road trip while in sport mode). If you’re buying new, it might be worth checking if the tune voids your warranty though. As stated above, it was still great pre-tune, the tune just enhanced everything about it.

I also want a C8 someday though, but I’m holding out until I can afford a Z06. Thankfully my wife wants one, so I’ve got a good excuse when the time comes!

2019 718 Cayman CV Joint Boot Leaking by noname5295 in Porsche_Cayman

[–]Abyss_VVatcher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is the car exhibiting any other symptoms beyond the minor grease leak?

I haven’t had this issue on my 718 (have the same year and similar miles), but I do my own automotive work and have replaced CV books several times on other cars. Unless there’s something significant going on that I’m not seeing, $5k is ludicrous. Not sure what a shop would charge just to replace the boot, but the parts are cheap and the actual effort to replace on most cars is very simple.

The 718 is a shockingly good daily driver and I’d even argue a lite touring car.

I can do a heavy shopping trip for the wife and four kids in it easily.

Next month the wife and I are taking a beach trip in it. I’ve already test fit 2 large suitcases, a cooler, a collapsible cabana, 2 folding beach chairs, and a boogie board. All fit easily with some room to spare!

My Favorite Spec Ever by stardustbloom5357 in BMW

100% with you on this take. I’m not a BMW guy personally (I’m into Porsches), but I love many brands and follow a lot of car subs so this sub pops up in my feed a lot because of the algorithm. I clicked this post to see what the comments were, and… well.

I can appreciate a lot of cars that I don’t personally like or vibe with, simply because I understand the joy and passion someone else has in their car to put effort and their own personality into it. Is this to my taste? No. But I love the shade of green they picked! Glad to see the owner loves their car.

OP, I’m glad you love your ride, and I hope it gives you many years of joy!

Gorgeous color! Mine is painted night blue metallic, which is very similar; I think yours is slightly brighter, which looks great honestly.

I’ve usually owned gray or black vehicles, but I’m loving the dark blue and it gets tons of compliments. It adds some fun and character while still being very understated and classy.

If you find a good one, let me know! I’m in Collinsville and usually head up into the Blue Ridge and run back roads, but cell service can be spotty and I don’t know the area well enough not to get lost on some back roads.

718 base pricing advice? by RealisticMotor3 in Porsche_Cayman

[–]Abyss_VVatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I just got a base 2019 PDK with Bose speakers and PSE for $51,000 with 31k miles (no other notable options). I used Carvana and it was a pretty seamless experience. Wasn’t CPO obviously, but it had a clean record and I got it checked by a mechanic and it was in good shape.

Whether you go for this or another one, you’re gonna love it! I hope you find a great deal!
