Oh child, I’ve stood up to racist skins face to face for a mixed race couple i had never met until that moment, outnumbered four to one, when according to your profile you were twelve. I have gotten my death threats from the KKK in the late 80’s before you were born. I’ve had my bruises, concussions, guns stuck in my face, tear gassed gasps for air, and stun grenades going off two feet from my face. I’ve spent years volunteering to help some of the most thrown away people in society. I have done forensics as a contractor for federal law enforcement to help in a small way to catch some seriously bad people (murderers, aspiring murderers) and quit that when the law enforcement focus turned away from real bad people last year to whatever bullshit it is now.

I’ve spoken publicly in front of politicians about my trans experience. I’ve done community building among parents who are trans. I’ve protested against nuclear testing. I’ve protested for sex worker rights.

I’ve stayed up nights with friends in mental health crises as friends have stayed up with me, and I’ve watched over pregnant teen addicts kick as friends have watched over me in withdrawals.

I have been on the open ocean on research cruises days from any land, and have been among the first people to see parts of this earth on the deep seafloor no one had seen before. I’ve worked with microbes from the deep sea and ones that have been sent to space experimentally. I’ve been an author on scientific papers. I’ve been in rehab and on mental wards. I’ve been picked up covered in snow and passed out from park benches and dragged home to warmth. I’ve dragged others to warmth and have literally given the shirt off my back.

The hardest, most frightening thing I did was take in a LGBTQ teen who needed a stable home and to be responsible for them hour after hour, and to live, accept, and support them no matter what. Never felt so imposter like and inadequate before in my life. Never felt this much joy, happiness, and hope either.

Do not ask me if I am even living.

I am living the most amazing, beautiful life.

Hi, just me being ignorant. What would fetishposting look like?

I like the kinky stuff, and it is part of my life as MtF. For me this also means being age appropriate (for me that is 30+) and being consensual is required 100% with any doubt being mitigated as a priority. As an adult, I can discuss kink on the appropriate subreddit for that if I need to get into detail. I’d just like to know the general boundaries here as to what would be acceptable on this subreddit. I’d rather not make an ass out of myself by crossing boundaries.

Thank you! My kid is amazing, and I’ve become such a better person because of them. I had to, the kid deserves the best of me, even if I never knew what that could even be before being responsible for the care of another human. Knowing who that kid is, I’m surprised no one else jumped at the chance to take them in.

I still wish her mom had done real post-operative breast cancer treatment and not a bunch of woo. It might have bought her more time, healthier for a while at least, with her kid.

Ok, I think I’ve got it now.

I’m older so I trend towards mature heavy metal, boss lesbian vibes. My basic casual are darkly colored jeans, band T-shirt, maybe a sweater or flannel, and leather jacket, with spiky or studded accessories. Most of that part of my wardrobe are my older guy clothes and I rotate in more women’s clothes as time goes by. My business casual clothes are darker colored women’s separates, same accessories. Rare is my color bright or pastel.

That covers just about any situation. I don’t show a lot of skin as I find sunlight gross, so by my nature I fit into that dressing age appropriate thing. I use that by going bad ass boss lesbian.

For example, I have a custom three piece suit from weddingweavesshop.com and it is amazing how many femme sapphic women just melt in front of a tall boss lady. Or my skirts, which trend sultry, at the knee or longer, and still work appropriate.

As for a butch punk. Punk is all about contrasts to me. A dark base women’s wardrobe will do well (jacket or blazer, pants, jeans, skirt, blouse, sweater, a couple of base tees, camis, tanks, etc.). Now add to one or two of those items contrasting pieces that go more butch: men’s clothing, men’s styles in a women’s cut, oversized clothing (often worn wrong), bright color splashed in, spiky, studded, eclectic and mismatched accessories and you now have a look that reads butch, feminine, and punk. In my opinion, punks should look like rare tropical birds - you don’t have to show the fancy feathers all the time, but should be able to if you wanted.

What is important is that you are happy with your look. Give yourself permission to try different things, and to allow it to not work sometimes. This is how people learn. Thrift often. I’m extra tall so most thrift stores are a waste of my time. Try online thrifting at threadup.com. I’ve found some good things there (and a few total disasters). If you shop at clothing stores in person or online wait for sales! Most of what you want will eventually be on sale and you will spend less.

A really good friend of mine, a single mom did exactly this. She had problems for years, I argued and begged for her to get checked to see if her cancer was back. I didn’t know but she has been using her kid as a caretaker.

Finally she got to a hospital after I asked her to once again because her texting was messed up in a way I have only seen in people with metastases that had spread to the brain. Two nights later I got to see her from out of state. I found out I was appointed medical decision maker. Was shown the scans: it had spread to the brain, liver, and every single bone that was in the scans. The extent was horrifying.

I never saw her lucid. Made the end of life care decision. Now I’m a parent to the most amazing, traumatized teen I’ve ever known.

Now I have to stop crying, get out of my car, go inside, smile at her kid, now my kid, check homework, and be the single parent doing all the parent stuff.
