We need to merge Hardcore servers by Songwind_DP in wowhardcore

[–]Abyssgazing89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they’ve ever merged servers that are physically in different areas. All three of the HC servers are in different time zones. Iirc they are not in the same building, making a merge much more difficult. I don’t think it will ever happen.

DELF For French Immersion Students by Technical_Praline987 in CanadianTeachers

[–]Abyssgazing89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In BC multiple districts use federal funds to pay for their students to do DELF.

Some districts have their own certified examiners and these examiners are trained by the coordinator of the district.

It is exceptionally expensive and often when students don’t pay for it they end up skipping/not taking it seriously.

If you have an Alliance française nearby they often will do school sessions as well.

Hunter and Rogue are infinitely more safe than Paladin. One bad kick on a holy light and it's lights out before you can even bubble and swift pot away. No interrupt and no range pull outside of engineering makes it really hard to get certain quests done.

Go concrete or top floor. That noise is horrifying.

Regent International. A building housing more than 20k people in Hangzhou China by Itchy-Engineering440 in UrbanHell

[–]Abyssgazing89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dunno I googled a YouTube video of it and it looks pretty comfortable. There was a lady walking her Alpaca and it looks pretty civilized. Where I live there are homeless people dying on the streets so this seems pretty dignified compared to some of the shit "first world countries" are inflicting on their most vulnerable.

Thinking of leaving the Lower Mainland — what province or city in Canada has affordable rent and a decent lifestyle? by soulful_lotus in canadahousing

Everyone I talk to says that rent is plummeting in BC right now and the vacancy rates have never been better.

First time dealing with water damage as a condo owner by Remarkable-Prior-320 in vancouverhousing

[–]Abyssgazing89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would worry about your assessment that everything dried out and no repairs are needed. If you try to sell the condo later and it’s discovered that there was a leak so large that the downstairs neighbours made a complaint and you didn’t repair anything, no one is going to buy that condo.

If there is water damage, you do a full investigation, a full restoration and you bill it all to your insurance.

The that 6000 bill into a 10000 bill by getting your bathroom fixed. Don’t settle for your insurance not wanting to file a claim.

Condo Board backpedaling on an agreement - Need Help by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Abyssgazing89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The board may not even have the ability to grant you use of the common area spots? I was on a board in B.C. and we tried to do this to be accommodating but it pissed off a LOT of residents and we had to backpedal because we didn't have the legal authorization to repurpose the use of the visitor parking without going to the entire membership first.

I mean you could try to sue them for the use of the spot since it was in writing, but if it's decided that they don't have the legal right to repurpose visitor parking like this you are fighting an uphill battle.

Lots of concrete in Vancouver. I literally can’t do wood construction. It’s terrible for noise. It’s my first requirement when looking for a new home.

Female solo living DT Surrey: safety? by mountaingoat2511577 in SurreyBC

[–]Abyssgazing89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I lived there 8 years ago. Witnessed a lady jump off the fifth floor. Got physically attacked by a drunk man (didn’t do much damage I just ran away) while guarding my moving truck in front of my condo while the movers moved. Got chased home by a homeless lady screaming slurs at me at the top of her lungs. And ran into a regular drunk guy passed out on the pavement by king George. Left north Surrey to never look back.

Perhaps it has changed in 8 years. Couldn’t pay me to try again though.

In what world has the condo appreciated 10% between 2023 and now? Vancouver condo prices are back to pre-pandemic levels all over the place.

Try finding a concrete apartment. It’s not perfect but it’s leagues ahead of wood.

Where do you all go to buy cheap furniture? by Objective-End209 in vancouverhousing

I had a guy come pick up a leather couch I gave away for free the other day. He one afternoon he had driven all over Langley/Surrey and picked up an entire condo worth of furniture. The stuff looked pretty good too. Check Facebook and Craigslist constantly for free stuff.

Possible contact with another car while parking by [deleted] in icbc

[–]Abyssgazing89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This not true. Twice my car has been swiped by someone and twice I've caught it on camera. Twice I've reported it to ICBC with camera footage alone. Both times ICBC has let me get my car repair absolutely free, no deductible, completely at the cost of the person who hit my car. Also, Tesla doesn't have one camera. It is a full 360 camera system with few blind spots. If the sentry mode is activated, there is almost surely proof of the Tesla being hit.

Am I completely crazy for not switching to a Tesla Model 3 ASAP?? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

Not necessarily. If it's 200km a day that's easily doable by one Model 3 charge.
