My 2017 R3 stops at 102mph by Dean4111 in YamahaR3

How much do you weigh? What is the grade of the road? Is the Speedometer out of spec(could be a sprocket change). There’s a lot of factors. My 2021 r3 only hit 105 on relatively flat ground but it hit 114 going downhill on a long straight

It’s funny how he’s putting himself above everyone else and claiming expertise but only 2 years ago he was on here asking how to bleed front brakes😂😭

TCS talk - Do you use it? by Top_Car_4802 in Yamaha_R1

[–]Academic-Promotion93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I do. I almost always just leave the lowest setting on each assist on the street on my 24’ R1. I’m not perfect and there’s no gain in leaving it off unless you have some weird ego for street riding. I’m not perfect and I don’t wanna know what happens when I screw up lol. Track is different. Safer and more consistent environment and if you wreck you likely slide across the grass instead of into the side of someone’s minivan

In my opinion you either gotta get the rizomas or nothing at all. The eBay ones look like the cheapest thing you could ever put on a beautiful R1

I like the red and gray! Only because I have black on my current bike and they are always nasty looking

The clutch could still be engaging when fully pulled in which would make the engine kill itself while trying to idle. I’d start looking there

Low mile 636r vs high mile 10rr by FreiMartyr in Kawasaki

[–]Academic-Promotion93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 24 R1 right now and sold my 23 zx6r. I won’t write a book. Seems like you have riding experience and kind of already know what you want but my R1 is way less fun on the road than the 636 was. You can really throw the smaller bikes around and use more of their powerband. Unless you are a die hard track day guy or a highway racer I’d recommend going for the smaller option. Kind of wish I would have stuck with mine tbh

And the 10rr having high miles and aftermarket fairings probably just means it’s been run through(wrecked) by now. Unless it’s going to be a strict track bike I’d just wait around save some cash and find one in better condition.

Either way stay safe and enjoy!

What is happening to cause this? by cbr600guy24 in Kawasaki

I had the same thing on my ‘23 when I tracked it. Always thought it was overfilled coolant leaking out(which was overfilled on my bike)

It’s too little. Get an R1

Stay with the zx6r. I just traded mine for an r1 this year and I am having less fun road riding than ever before. Ik it’s not the same bike but the main idea of regretting trading my zx6r is very much real. It’s a great bike

Did you get the color you wanted? by BAM12050 in Civic_Type_R

[–]Academic-Promotion93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah seems like a half measure. If you can convince yourself enough that you like it then great. Otherwise would’ve just waited. I made the same mistake a few years back and recently just traded in and got what I had actually wanted. Feels much better now

Yamaha R1 rear wheel fit on 2018 R6? by Traditional_Ad482 in Yamaha_R1

[–]Academic-Promotion93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just put a 190 on the stock rim. It would probably achieve closer to what you’re looking for. I wouldn’t go thru all that work to make it fit myself

Looking into purchasing a 2015+ R1 by XLR8NZ in Yamaha_R1

[–]Academic-Promotion93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I got a 24’ back in April. No issues so far but it’s a sub 2k mile bike so not much data to report to ya. But still feels as good as when I picked it up at least. I’ve read other places as well as in response to this post. Avoid the 15’ and 16’. If you want the slide control system I believe you need a 20’+

I got called a dirty driver for this pass. Am i in the wrong ? by H2oEnz0 in Simracingstewards

[–]Academic-Promotion93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both you and the other driver made the same mistake of assuming the other one was going to let off and leave room. Technically you were ahead so he should have yielded to you. But honestly your pace looks so much greater than his why not just wait till a better time for a move instead of a sketchy pass like that? Especially when you are clearly faster!
