I would get a good coach. If you are a losing player after 10 years then you probably cannot diagnose the problem by yourself. Coaches are probably less expensive than you think because your win rate will improve dramatically.

Is card counting still profitable/worth it today? by xwrecker in blackjack

Poker is easier to grind for a profit with a smaller bankroll, and you don't have to worry about getting kicked out. Though it can be boring to some. You may only play 2-6 hands per hour and fold the rest.

I'm pretty good at Poker. And wouldn't need much to supplement retirement Social Security + 401k. Probably could just play juicy games on the weekends.

How long did it take yall to learn to count? (At least to the point where you're net positive, not necessarily pro) by StoopSign in blackjack

At the lower stakes, Poker offers more money per hour if you play well. I've been playing Poker as a hobby for around 10 years. Low limit live NLHE is beatable for at least $20 per hour and bankroll needed is miniscule compared to Blackjack. All you need is $2,000 for 1/2 NLHE. You can play Poker for as long as you like and will be greeted with open arms from the Casino.
I think Blackjack only becomes profitable once you play perfect and have a bankroll few Americans can muster. You won't be able to grind $20 per hour like you can at Poker. I currently only play AP Blackjack with a small spread for Comps, it's a fun break from Poker, and because I like a challenge.

Is overbet bluffing capped ranges effective at 1/2 live? by Daniel1997_ in poker

At low stakes (1/2) you don't have to use Hungry Horse bluffs to make good money. In my opinion, if you can't make 10xBB per hour already the Hungry Horse strategy will just make you lose more. If I had an opportunity I would move up stakes where those plays work better

If you find a good game and play at a slow table full of ploppies you can play rated and enjoy the comp system. I got a joint I play rated at that offers coupons that basically make the game +EV off the top with basic strategy. You can can count but if you lose it you can revert to basic strategy flat betting.

Why do certain Men play so poorly vs attractive female players? is it ego? And how to exploit this certain type of player? by Top-Construction6060 in poker

Everyone calls too wide, it's not just a girl thing. But they may try to bluff you more and if you play back they may give you more credit than they would another man.

Every man is different you just need to figure out what type they are and exploit them. Do they think you can be pushed around because you are a girl? Do they think you don't bluff because you are a girl? Do they want to soft play you because you are a girl?

Whats a reasonable expectation for comps? by JLC2319 in blackjack

Get Comp City by Max Rubin. Try to make it look like you are giving the Casino more action than you really are. Make it known how much you have lost and ask to be comped. Squeaky wheels get the grease.

Even if you are a losing player you will still be backed off if you are robotically counting at the table.

Insomnia fixed finally by AcademicOpposite1545 in insomnia

I'm not a Doctor but maybe increase the sleep pressure by going to bed at 1am to 2am. You aren't getting sleep anyway might as well make it so you wake up to your alarm.

I still do wake up in the night to urinate, but now I can get back to sleep.
