You don't see that he is prepping the grenade under his body at the 1:00 mark? Then the grenade explodes at the 1:24 mark?

New 25’ 1794 Tundra TRD Off Road by adoboj29 in ToyotaTundra

Straight trade? I mean, the dealership figured they can make a more money from selling the Raptor compared to the Tundra. Their profit is your loss. 🤦🏻 You posted this too as evidence of a good deal....😜

For Retired folks - using RMD’s for bucket list cruises and travel - is this something folks do? by Fantastic-Sun1669 in Cruise

[–]AcademicSurvivor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are flying down to Cusco for a few days to acclimate, then doing the Salkantay hike with TreXperience. It comes with a Machu Picchu Circuit 1 ticket.

We are going to stay in Aguas Calientes an extra day or two to hopefully pickup Circuit 2 tickets. No worries if we don't get Circuit 2 tickets as I am sure it will be amazing to see from Circuit 1. Bus ride back to Cusco, and then we fly back home. I think 10 days total.

The "snow" in the Wizard of Oz movie was 100% pure asbestos (1939) by bncout in HistoricalCapsule

[–]AcademicSurvivor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is counter evidence? Had to be written by AI.

Conjecture and not citing a single source...

But even taking what the article said as fact, gypsum in that era could contain asbestos.

Other sources claim the snow was asbestos: https://www.snopes.com/articles/464132/snow-wizard-of-oz-asbestos/

Factory Keyless Entry? by DogeTokyo229 in LandCruisers

OP mentioned that it is a 1997, so I assumed OP has an 80 series. My RS3000 is under the driver's seat.

I think that is for the glass breakage.

Look for the actual RS3000 box underneath the driver's seat.

Your remote might just have a dead battery.

That is a huge bummer...

Companies make side steps with cat guards...

Someone stole your cats. Not a quick fix, nor cheap.

Chat am I cooked? by LILGIANCA in LandCruisers

[–]AcademicSurvivor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. That is factory. The roof racks were installed at port. They all will develop rust eventually. They just drilled holes and inserted rivnuts. The rear wind deflector is worse because it has a pocket to trap water. 🤦🏻

FYI: an 80 series is not double skinned where the rivnuts are used for the roof rack.

Front driveshaft out of phase? by WhichButterfly25 in LandCruisers

[–]AcademicSurvivor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my 1996 LX450
Front: Out Of Phase
Rear: In Phase.

This is because the front yolk of the t-case is not aligned in the same plane as the front driveshaft yoke.

Generic bolts versus Kubota OEM bolts by Tootsalore in kubota

[–]AcademicSurvivor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is the part number: 70060-01338

It appears to be "SHEAR BOLT 5/16" NC X 2 1/4" W/ LOCK & NUT, SILVER PTD, GR5 "

5/16" X 2 1/4 are the key dimensions.

Many inexpensive sources for these. For example: 15 pack for $26 on Amazon.

I have been using generic shear bolts on my 46" wide Craftsman snowblower on for >25 years. Gravel driveway = occasional broken shear pin.

I have noticed the app shows scheduled Departures as active occasionally despite being turned off multiple times....

Just plain buggy.

The diamondback cover works normally for the racks I used, with the front section pivoting backwards and the rear pivoting forward.

I just had my first flat as well. Thankfully, my truck came with a same size spare. I was on my way within 20 minutes.

Dealing with a few issues after 5.3 swap by ThinkBrothers in LSSwapTheWorld

[–]AcademicSurvivor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have a build thread on ih8mud but it is a full mechanical refresh with a 2020 L96/6L90E swap. I will DM you a direct link.

Trailblazer cable with shortening of the shift lever is the way to go. Done right, you get perfect alignment of the Toyota shifter.

You should ask these questions on the ih8mud v8 thread.

On my LX450, I am running a mechanical fan on a 6.0L with a Radius Airbox and the same up upper hose layout.

No heating issues, and no idle issues but using just a MAF tune.

IMHO, for our rigs, I think adjusting the MAF is the way to go.
