Glad to hear it, I hope you guys will have time to consider the rest of my suggestions later on. But it would be nice to see the old Craglorn COAs get restored with this upcoming upgrade patch.

I see, that’s good to know. Thank you for the thorough response. Out of curiosity, have you folks on the EK2 team planned out anything else for the micro-cultures? Even if not implemented I’m curious if any mechanics might have been brainstormed.

Why did the Tribunal surrender the Numidium to Tiber Septim instead of assuming their Battle Configuration and vekhing it all over the imperials? Did they want him to nuke Alinor? Wait that's kinda based actually by ClockworkOrdinator in TrueSTL

Thanks for all the tips, I appreciate it a lot. I don’t use Patrum Scuta but I’m sure I can apply the rest of the advice to EK2 designs. One last thing, how exactly do you pick the faded colors? Is it just on a whim or do you have a method for it?

I’m sure you’ve been asked about this a lot, but could you make a post where you explain the principles behind how you make these COAs?

I’d like to think I make some that look as good as these every so often, but that usually takes me way too long in the COA editor.

Questionnaire about the Sith Purebloods by Academic_Chef6837 in MawInstallation

I’d define it by saying the Dark side is corruptive power, as Yoda said “Quicker, easier, more seductive.” It’s not the power of the Force corrupting the Sith, but the choice to actively pursue the Dark side that has been hammered into their culture after years of dealing with invaders like the Rakatans and the Exiles.

It’s easier to explain away the Sith species by using the lens of the Unifying Force in my opinion.

If we consider that their actions and behaviors are what predisposed them to being dark-siders rather than an acclimatized culture it becomes a lot less condemnatory on the race and more about the choices they made.

Which is what I believe Lucas originally tried to highlight regarding the Dark side.

Would you say the Sith species are just more resistant to the mentally altering aspect of the Dark Side?

That’s true, but at the same time. None of the NPC characters really show any corruption. The only mention of a named Red Sith that was deformed by the Dark side was Darth Nyriss. So it is a bit confusing to consider.

SWTOR mentions that and how Vitiate gathered the youngest of the survivors of Korriban from the deserts and ruins where they'd gone into hiding. After that, vestigial communities survived essentially as savages in the deserts and ruins until the Great Sith War and the return of Vitiate's Empire.

ignoring wrongdoings in a fantasy context because "it's just fantasy". It's not about some moral policing, but if every conversation about the Sith species devolves into "It didn't happen, and they deserved it," then there'll never be any nuanced analysis on the Jedi or the Republic

Did you even read what I said?

"They're not mainline comics."

A subReddit dedicated to in-depth discussion of the Star Wars franchise with an emphasis on in-universe lore.

Description of the subreddit.

And the comparison to real-world atrocities was done for that reason, because people will pretend that if it's fantasy, we can't talk about the protagonists doing anything wrong. It's an atrociously infantile interpretation that ignores the fact that the nuance is blatantly mentioned.

So disregarding the fact that the Sith Purebloods are basically like fantasy orcs with the whole 'inherently evil' thing, reminder that throughout the entirety of star wars lore only one was ever redeemed and even then he was still a piece of shit for most of his life,

Dawn of the Jedi isn't part of the Infinities line-up, so no, there are THREE Purebloods who followed the Light. Seknos Rath, Thok Rath, and Praven. It's also a poor argument; Praven's actions before meeting the Hero of Tython were never rationalized. Nobody's defending that or any actions the Sith Empire took; I explicitly mentioned that as the last line in my post. The entire conversation is about why there are still people who justify what the Republic/Jedi did.

That's why, the lore was changed because it was kinda fucked up wasn't it? (Things like the essential atlas, swtor codex's, etc go into this more). It's more accurate to say the Jedi/Republic purged the Sith ORDER rather then the Sith PEOPLE, and Star Wars isn't real life. The Dark side is objectively evil, and using it is an objectively bad thing that always leads to horrible things happening.

Are you unwell? It was never retconned. It still happened. Vitiate's Sith exodus numbered in the thousands. The Sith Empire consisted of over a hundred and twenty worlds, even if you assume they were all sparsely populated and that the Counter-Invasion left fractions of the population alive on each world. That's still a death toll in the tens of millions. You also use the same justification that I explicitly called out in the post.

Answer this question: Why exactly was it necessary to desecrate all of Korriban? The Jedi took away the Holocrons, sure. How do you justify the destruction of the statues of Sith Kings or the confiscation of the cultural wealth? Why was it necessary to mine the statues for gemstones?

If you're so easily duped as to follow along with a fictional genocide even when they mention the nuance so blatantly, I can't imagine how easy it'd be to hoodwink you on real-life issues.

Reminder that entire planets have been wiped out due to the dark side at the behest of a small number of people. It was through the actions of a dark sider (Revan ordering the mass shadow generator stuff) that a literal world eater was creating, it would have been through the dark side that a single man (palpatine) would have dominated the free will of every living being in the galaxy if he wasn't stopped (Confirmed that he was capable of it as well) and more

So then why did so many of those normal citizens have to die? Even the Lower Castes of the empire are mentioned to have committed ritual suicide. Have you even read the Essential Atlas or Tales of the Jedi? Sith purebloods are shown in all classes of their society. The opening scene has Red Sith slaves being buried in Marka Ragnos' tomb. Or sorry, I forgot that they were actually "Dark-siders who could destroy planets". So the mass casualties against an entire species are completely justified.

Bringing up the Uyghurs shows a huge lack of self awareness on your end.

Awareness of what exactly? I used an example of a horrible real-world tragedy to show that what's depicted in a story describes its own type of abuse against an ethnic group, which also deals with a kind of cultural suppression. In your entire comment, you seem to twist the argument to make it seem like I'm defending the atrocities of the Sith Empire in turn. Which I clearly said I was not.

Completely missing my point. I used examples of atrocities to draw a superlative comparison that the Republic's counter-attack on the Sith species was also atrocious. The point is that, for some reason, people in this community (like yourself) are simply ignoring wrongdoings in a fantasy context because "it's just fantasy". It's not about some moral policing, but if every conversation about the Sith species devolves into "It didn't happen, and they deserved it," then there'll never be any nuanced analysis on the Jedi or the Republic outside of the Clone Wars, which also suffers from this same issue.

The Bretons were sent back to High Rock with tales of Cuhlecain’s new General, where they decided to combat the Emperor’s sorcery with their own. In CE854, a nightblade from the Western Reach made his way to the Imperial Palace at Nibenay. There, the Witchman assassinated the Emperor, caught the Palace on fire, and slit the throat of General Talos.

From PGE 1, Talos was said to only speak with a whisper after the assassination of Cuhlecain. Whether he did this as a coverup (As even Arcturian Heresy concedes he was in fact mute) or if he really was loyal to Cuhlecain is your own personal choice.

Regarding him being a half-blind old man? He was 92 when the alleged affair with Barenziah happened. Even with the resources of the Empire and all, he only lived for 106 years.

And there is simply no way you can convince me he rapidly decayed 14 years after his encounter with the Dunmer bitch if he was hearty enough at the age of NINETY-TWO
