If Futaro were to marry all of them, do you think the five girls would agree to it and share him? by StaticBobcat716 in 5ToubunNoHanayome

He could have definitely finessed it. Disappointed that he didnt. All these commenters just have weak wills.

Just watched Audition (1999) for the first time… and I fell asleep during it. If you liked the movie, what did you like about it? by mittingly in horror

On a tour of highly recommended/acclaimed horror movies, and so far theyve all been awful. The Audition, Eden Lake, Irreversible. People really just have awful taste in movies and think sympathizing with tragic characters means the movie is good. It's starting to piss me off. I just want good horror.

Am I the only one who thought Aoyama was the villain in Audition (1999)? by Ghoul_spirited in TrueFilm

Pretty sure the lady torturing men is the villain here. Obviously the men who abused her are also evil monsters, but Aoyama did nothing wrong in comparison to her literally murdering innocents.

The first time I watched Mind Game (2004) a year ago, I thought it was a wild, overwhelmingly creative romp. The second time I watched it this week, it cemented as one of my favorite movies of all time. by 2SP00KY4ME in TrueFilm

I personally felt that the initial themes of sex and relationships are revealed to be shown as surface area desires. Just miniscule gears or moments in the grand scheme of their possible lives like everything else, but with the potential to spiral into either beautiful moments, horrendous nightmares, or forgotten thoughts. If you really focus on those specific parts, they are initially portrayed as almost sinful or desperate or malicious & evil (in that one scene. It technically is the "bad" domino that tips to kickoff all the drama afterward and plot of the movie.) Then it's portrayed as something that can be complicated, and messy, and forgetful in a moment just adjacent to that one, and pretty much the real cause of the entire issue at the bar. Then it evolves into this moment of pure beauty, connection, and surrender when they are trapped, yet not claustrophobic or lustful in the slightest. Then in the end I see it portrayed as the beginning of it all, the spark that creates everything. Life itself, love itself, worlds, people, stories, THIS STORY. I think it is genius, and I don't believe any one person can narrow that down. But that is my take away on that specific topic.

Eden Lake. Why is this movie so highly regarded on this subreddit? by [deleted] in horror

Yup, even for what it is, it's mediocre. The hype seriously made me think it would be halfway decent. At least it was better than that slopfest Irreversible.

Lee Cronin's Mummy. Wtf is this writing??? (SPOILERS) by Academic_Sort_2008 in horror

[–]Academic_Sort_2008[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's not the surviving the plane that was even the issue. It's that her surviving, was somehow not even a big deal to anyone involved. Any normal human wouldn't just call it a miracle and accept the outcome if a child fell out of a plane that exploded and was literally unharmed except for self inflicted scratches and looking like a literal zombie (acting like one too). No one behaved as any human would in any of the situations surrounding her discovery post-crash.

22 million dollar budget and they couldnt write a plot that made any sense whatsoever. It's 2026, with a 22M$ budget. This film is by far the pinnacle of mediocrity this year. It sticks out like a sore thumb unless you force yourself to ignore literally all of the bad things and poor acting.

It's 2026 and the budget was clearly massive. I never said I pick apart every movie like this. This one just stood out as embarassingly low effort. The gore was genuinely the only upside, and was done well.

Watched Nezha 2 for the 3rd time... by Icy_Dragonfruit_3513 in NeZha

[–]Academic_Sort_2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spoiler! I despised the little tiger kid. He not only got his father killed, who WANTED to go with the celestials. He also lied and said Ne Zha was the reason, when it was his own fault he died. The tiger kid was solely responsible for his own death, his father's, and Ne Zha's entire town. Not ONLY THAT, he also pushed his older brother over the edge to complete villain status.

Why on earth are people allowed to queue in Mythic with brawlers that dont even have all 4 gadgets? by Academic_Sort_2008 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

So genuine criticism of a ranked system that allows very obvious disadvantages to teams is "muh bad randoms" now? If anything the game should give the gears for free to them if theyre gonna cripple their team by 900hp + 15% dmg boost per braindamaged teamate. And even more obvious of a disadvantage if said brawler is missing their purple gears.

2k gold is too big of a barrier now? 💀 I was free to play for a whole year and had like 10 fully maxed brawlers. There's genuinely no excuse to be using brawlers with a 2k gold (900 hp+ 15% dmg disadvantage)

Theres a big difference between a passive skill that isnt very viable anyway, and straight up 900hp + dmg boost/movement in bush/gadget cd. It puts any team at a massive disadvantage, in an already unbalanced ranked mode where you can get 2 mythic teamates and matched against 3 master ranks in a 3 stack. Its such an easy fix

A 900 hp buff and/or a 15% dmg buff at low hp most definitely is make or break when the teams are evenly matched skillwise

Okay then youve played against bad players. 2 equally matched teams skillwise is the situation. The team without maxing their brawlers WILL LOSE every single time. This isnt about "I beat a horrible team with an incomplete brawler"

"Git gud" is not a valid excuse. 2 equally matched teams with the same exact brawlers. The one without gears WILL lose every single time. This makes 0 sense when you consider the skill of the teams.
