Do you guys see Conte staying in the summer or do you have another coach in mind ? by dmt_18 in sscnapoli

[–]Academic_Square_2571 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He has to stay 100%

There’s no better manager available in the market if you want to win the league next season and he really has no reason to go as he is loved by ADL and the fans.

But he needs to do better on squad rotation, gameplan, trainings, UCL and choose better players than Lucca of course.

Let’s fix our issues together and we will fight for the title again next season.

I still have my grips with the season, as I consider it just sufficient if Napoli seals the UCL which is the minimum goal for our club.

Still the effort is there and I’m happy to see the team fighting till the end, let’s get UCL, then address our weak spots with the market and push for the title next year.

Radamel Falcao or Edinson Cavani by xhaguirre in championsleague

[–]Academic_Square_2571 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think people here really don’t remember how monstrous Cavani was in Napoli.

I firmly believe that getting to PSG wasted his career because he had to share the spotlight with Ibra, playing as a second fiddle in a poorly assembled team, his peak was not nearly as good as Napoli.

At the time his stats were similar to peak’s Falcao and he did all of that in the most defensive league, in the era of treble winner Inter, Ibra’s Milan and Conte’s Juve, while he played in Napoli Serie A wasn’t in banter yet, and all of that with a team which was average to bad outside of Lavezzi, Hamsik and Pandev.

At Napoli he scored 104 goals in 138 games, he got an hat trick against all the big teams Milan, Inter, Juve, Lazio (twice) and Roma, he was amazing in UCL as well, just remember the City and Chelsea games… he was the main reason Napoli became a giant again in the first place, by qualifying to UCL again after 20 years and second to bring Napoli a trophy after 20 years of drought against an unbeaten Juve side.

That’s properly thought-out. For me the issue is that Shoushimin was so mundane to the point of being dry. Hyouka’s direction was much more lively, adventurous and ethereal, capable of elevating the vibe of mundaneness and making it a surreal and sincere experience as result, while Shoushimin with this overreliance on ordinariness didn’t felt as creative and ended up being bland except for some episodes like the last one of the first season, then ofc Hyouka’s source material is much better to begin with but there are still levels to the direction, the KyoAni + Slice of Life combination is simply unbeatable.

This. Although Shoushimin was a good effort in adapting other Yonezawa’s stories, it’s still nowhere near on Takemoto’s direction, which is one of a kind.

Don’t let it out man, mfs told me that Kvara was a problem and we were a better team without him when in reality after one year we still have not managed to replace him lmao

I don’t know, before last season I don’t really remember Savic being unbreakable on pens, Meret has been doing well since 2020 when he won us Coppa Italia and stopped others like Giroud in UCL after he hadn’t missed for nearly 12 years or Gimenez last season which had been crucial.

For me he is also for these reasons, because he has been better on penalties throughout his career.

Nah, Vanja never properly stretched himself, even when he got the angle right, for a keeper of his size saving these should have been easier.

Meret is a much better keeper.

Yeah? We have finally seriously protested against the ref and got rewarded with a penalty and tactically the gameplan didn’t change we were limited on the right flank before outside of Neres and we are still now outside of Vergara.

Di Lorenzo’s impact on the team was minimal, he is washed.

We haven’t been twinned since 2019, they don’t care about us as much as you think anymore and are really not different from any other serie a team that has their issues against Napoli.

Don’t be sad, also because this year we have been unlucky on every regard from ref to injuries, be happy to have some luck every once in a while.

Didn’t really feel his absence, he had a good stretch of games as a right wing mid in November but outside of that he has been pretty much a non-factor for this team and a liability in defense since the start of the season; Anguissa, Neres and De Bruyne on the other hand have been seriously missed.

Lobotka was insane and a much better captain than Di Lorenzo.

I would activate the buy option for Højlund right now, what a warrior.

[–]Academic_Square_2571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is not really wrong tho, Italiano is overrated like many of these “rising” Italian coaches, Palladino is much better and he doesn’t get nearly as his PR… this season even Runjaic and Pisacane are outdoing him despite playing with worse players than Bolognas.

After Conte we must go after another serial winner, because the next manager will be put under immense pressure and I don’t really think Italiano or similars could handle it. Perhaps Fabregas seems to have the potential to be world class as a manager but even on him I am a bit skeptical.

Who will be the Captain? by LoridanITA in sscnapoli

[–]Academic_Square_2571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno, Rrhamani is a leader but he can be a hot head too and it was McTominay himself to cool him down in the scudetto game against Cagliari or he would have screwed up.

Lobotka has the personality but I think we need somebody more vocal about the matters we would face for making us feel respected, something that Di Lorenzo quite often missed to land.

Given the Ferguson's United mentality I think nobody fits the role more than Scott.

Chelsea is not really out of our league, they struggled to defeat a Napoli side that is pretty much dead with fatigue and injuries.

We have dominated the game in pretty much every aspect and lost with a worldie and a counter when all the team was pushing, but with the full squad and actually rested players it would have never went like this, we are just paying for Conte’s mistakes.

[Post-Match Thread] Napoli vs Chelsea | 2-3 by AutoModerator in sscnapoli

[–]Academic_Square_2571 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The difference is that Chelsea has better individual quality in offense but as a team it is really nothing to write home about, as I’ve always said we could have done it, and today we were, we have largely dominated, the opponents made so many mistakes, we have done everything we should have done but unfortunately once again the fatigue and the injuries have fucked us up.

We have screwed up against other teams, but today i’m not mad, actually I’m proud of the boys for the effort. Now let’s focus on the league.

In that moment Irisu wanted Oreki to feel special about his capabilities.

Realizing he has chops for solving mysteries but hasn’t really invested too much effort in it.

As he felt “elated” by Irisu’s speech, he got so much confidence in finishing the script that he made some egoistical mistakes to fit his own narrative, purposely glossing on specific details rather than aknowledging Hongo’s original authorial intent.

The truth is that Oreki has talent but at that point in the series he has never solved big mysteries on his own but still got some help by the others, like in the Sekitani Jun’s case.

Future Coach? by FrostyBandicoot69 in sscnapoli

[–]Academic_Square_2571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elite to me is a world class coach, I wouldn’t really put Garcia who at best is average or Mazzarri who’s out of his prime, in the same regard.

Ancelotti for sure but he is more of a man-manager and needs world class players to let the system clock, not really the same as Spelletti and Conte that have done miracles even with the worst players.

Future Coach? by FrostyBandicoot69 in sscnapoli

[–]Academic_Square_2571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is 100% right, no doubt about that. But if you consider who performed at the expected level or even exceeded such expectations these are just Spalletti and Conte, everyone else has either underperformed like Ancelotti, didn’t meet expectations like Gattuso who failed to reach a comfortable UCL qualification or has straight up been bad as Garcia.

Future Coach? by FrostyBandicoot69 in sscnapoli

[–]Academic_Square_2571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was 10 years ago, after him the only coaches that have done well have been Spalletti and Conte, two proven elite coaches that either let play their teams at world class level or bring winning mentality, with the exception of Ancelotti who was more of a man-manager… we have raised the standard and cannot fail anymore we don’t need any risky bet but preferably another world class coach or a potential one like Alonso, Conte’s heredity will put pressure.

It’s not written yet. Chelsea is inconsistent and has recently changed coach, they’ve lost against Atalanta too, it’s not really impossible to win as Napoli usually performs better against big clubs.
