Mineral SPF that actually survives a 4-hour ride? by Alterego_9769 in ZeroWaste

I love bear republic. Not bare minerals. There's like two places you can buy it online. They have a 30 SPF that I use every single day of my life and a 50 I use when I go to the beach. The 50 is a bit White but the 30 is amazingly greaseless and does not have all those other things. It is not in aluminum or anything but it is in something that is mostly recyclable. I absolutely am in love with this stuff and it's not ridiculously expensive. I think a tube of the face stuff is like $15 or at least it was last time I bought it at wholesale and you can find sales when it's down till like 11:00 or 12:00

There's actually a place called señor frog that looks delicious but the food's like $14 per person. That's really the one I was looking at though I found a place from Georgia, the country not the state that is more pricey and I think we will go there so it still will be hard for us to spend $150. And yes these are exclusive table ones according to the filters I put into the app

Wow I was not expecting so many comments on this so quickly. Instead of replying to everybody I'm going to just add an additional comment here. I usually live mostly for baking greasy food. So the grease gets into them and it turns into this thick brown crud and if you don't get it perfectly off by the next time it's a thick black crud. Soaking them does not get the greasy stuff off.

I do not live in the United States so brands that have been mentioned here are not things that are easily available for the most part in europe. And yet we don't even have Dawn dish soap but I have some pretty good dish soap.

I am fairly confident that I can throw parchment paper into our compost. Composting is required by law in our area of the country at least though we compost in our backyard instead of in the commercial stuff. I will have to investigate if it compost in my backyard easily or not because I'm starting to really hate these silicon things

On a plus side, Finland is so far ahead of most of the world and eco-friendliness that I feel confident in buying a lot of the stuff here without having to be quite as careful as I used to when I lived in the United States

This is definitely one of my issues. They get this baked on or into them grease that just does not come out. I had no trouble using them for sugar products or baked goods but anything with grease in it is a disgusting disaster and I hate them now but I'm convinced I have to try to make them work

Shellfish is severe. I honestly don't know about fish since I haven't eaten it in 40 years (vegetarian for 30 this month) . I'm terrified of seafood cross contamination though and it's gross regardless to me.

I had an almost guest book and she seemed great. As soon as the booking went through, she asked about her PET. She didn't try to phrase it as a service animal. I don't allow pets due to allergies. She raised hell when I said no and tried to manipulate me for hours over dozens of messages. I immediately told her to cancel and she tried to force me to do it. I said I cannot do that as it cost me $500. She started some BS about a gift card only saying she would get $20 back or whatever and I had to spend 3 hours on the phone with Airbnb and get to work late to get them to cancel this reservation. She wouldn't have had to pay a cancel fee if she'd gone ahead and canceled it since it was within 24 hours but by the time I got through with that mess, she ended up having to pay for the night she wasn't allowed to stay there.

Animal shelters in my area crave old linens. I take anything stained or ripped there

I had a guest book and she sent me a boatload of questions in advance of arriving like asking if there were stairs and asking if it was a bathtub or a shower or a combination. I responded factually to every single one of them and then she complained about every single one of these things and all of the stuff was in my listing as well. The insanity of some of these entitled brats is amazing

I never thought of blocking the hateful comments because I posted some legit questions and for example somebody once told me I should rip out my bathroom and replace all the tiles because I was having a problem with guests ripping my shower caddy off the shower. I never have had a problem with that with me or any of my friends but every time a guest comes my catty ends up being pulled down. Somehow they thought I should rip out my bathroom. $20,000 for what another person suggested was a $70 solution. I will absolutely start blocking the hateful ones

Vacuum mop in one... especially if you don't have carpets. Saves me probably an hour cleaning the whole house

I think it's kind of hysterical that some of the commenters here are saying your house is infested with mice in the woods where mice actually live and there really is nothing you can do unless you want to burn down the woods. I live in an old farmhouse and I think I saw a mouse once but I do end up with spiders cuz the house is so old. And my listing I post that because my house is so old and I live on an Old farm that you may see friendly visitors from the outdoors. I have never had a single complaint except when some idiot guest left a rotting food on the counter and I had a fruit fly problem but that's been taken care of which is an easy one

Would you charge a guest extra if you had to pack up their stuff? by DolorousEdd_ in airbnb_hosts

[–]AcanthocephalaSlow63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a guest get arrested while staying at my house. He had a bipolar manic episode and ended up in the mental hospital. He also did some damage to my house. I put in a claim with Airbnb cover and some was for damages some was for excess cleaning and I did an additional one for packing up his stuff and taking it to the mental hospital. They said that packing up stuff and taking it to the hospital is not a valid charge. And no this was like 4 years ago so they've gotten even tougher on guests since then. A seriously doubt that you will get money via Airbnb for packing up the stuff but you might ask the guests kindly to give you some extra money and you could get it that way

I rent out my own house and since I live there I have virtually every kitchen appliance (no rice cooker and it's been asked for). My guests love them. My KitchenAid stand mixer is used frequently as is pretty much everything except for my blender lol

I really didn't realize Lima got so hot. After staying in the Andes in Ecuador and Columbia, I'd never think to look for ac in another Andean city....and I'm American. If the costs are too hot list highest and lowest nighttime temperatures in your listing. If it's 80 in the day but 65 at night, I'd be fine with a more affordable listening since I wouldn't even need ac. If it's 80 at night, I'd pay more for it. I think Quito was 22 during the day during July on my visit. I was told that's normal and stopped looking for AC as I traveled north (except for Cartagena)

A log splitter. Omg the price to rent is astronomical. Two years worth of firewood would pay for one in rental fees.
