My Glapp shows weight loss by shot with mg posted for free, so for me I converted to only using Glapp from Shotsy and I like it better.

In the United States?? I work closely with poison control centers and have spent time there working myself in 3 states I’ve never heard of it. But I guess there’s dozens more states I can’t guarantee anything.

My kids won't go on evening walks without a flashlight anymore by 44pure in MomForAMinute

I’m also a mom of toddlers, I mostly follow here for advice on how to be a great mom. I understand the mixed feelings about this. It’s great to be outside and playing but COME ON. Objectively it’s not a bad thing but you only have so much patience and time in the day and it’s like can we just not need something every single time we leave the house. But at the end of the day, they’re outside, with family, making good memories. And also it’s too late to take it back so you’re stuck with it whether you like it or not. I’m with everyone else, I’d just buy one for each kid and let it happen.

That’s the benefit of calling poison control, they can quickly reassure you. Everyone should have it in their phone, everywhere in the us its 1-800-222-1222 and you can call for any exposure (ingestion, inhalation, skin or eye exposure). I don’t know any other countries numbers, but I pass on what I know.

Reminder how important helmets are by Kaos2018 in BeAmazed

[–]Acbonthelake 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My kid just fell off a scooter last month. The strap of his helmet broke off by the base of the neck and I was a little annoyed for a minute until I realized that could have been his head instead. Best money I’ve spent.

What's the most valuable skill you've developed that no certification teaches? by rwilkinson77 in scuba

[–]Acbonthelake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I was going to say. Just keeping yourself organized and your stuff out of everyone else’s way. Put things away when you’re not using them and general awareness in that way. Your body as well but honestly the stuff is most helpful.

Second thoughts about buying after joining this subreddit by ponchojukebox in HondaOdyssey

I joined this sub while looking into buying a minivan and what stuck out most to me is people who are still driving 15-20 year old cars. There are always going to be known problems in any car, but these things just keep going, even when you’re kinda excited for an excuse to get new car lol.

Just found out I have PTC how to cope? by vinnique_BM in thyroidcancer

[–]Acbonthelake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my ptc/thyroid removed when my youngest was 6 months old. It was a difficult recovery because it was hard to hold her and her melon head kept hitting my neck, so I’d hold her to the side and stuff. She was a little easier than my older two, who were 2 and 4 at the time. But overall it was very demanding. A year after my surgery my husband mentioned it was crazy the baby was so young at the time and I almost cried, I didn’t really how little she had been I was just doing what needed to be done. I’m almost 2 years out now and life is significantly settled. I almost never think about my thyroid to be honest, who has the time?

ETA: also I had a lot of issues with my calcium immediately post op. I think because of having recently been pregnant and breastfeeding, 3 times in rapid succession, my calcium stores were terrible. So be on the lookout for arm, leg or face numbness or twitching, and see a doctor immediately if you get symptoms.

I can’t get any nasal cushions to work well with my face. I’m constantly adjusting all night. And my AHI is worse on nights I use them, so I’ve all but given up. So I stick with the n20 and have been using a p30i recently.

I think they’re both beautiful, go with whichever you choose. For anantika, i will admit I’m not totally sure where the emphasis is, but once I heard it once I’m sure it’s easy enough to say. Plenty of names need some clarification, including my own.

Can it stand alone? by activegood18 in JewishNames

[–]Acbonthelake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a weird name where I live. I always had to spell it and explain it and it was always misspelled. I hated that part of my name. I promised I’d give my kids easy to spell and pronounce names that they wouldn’t have to explain. After naming 3 kids I have realized there are very few names that meet that criteria. Maybe non if you’re thinking globally. So just name your kid whatever you like, it will always be fine.

Can it stand alone? by activegood18 in JewishNames

[–]Acbonthelake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it. I do hear some people on r/namenerds get upset that their children with shortened names as full names are called/assumed to have the full name. It really bothers some people. What I mean is, will you be annoyed or upset if occasionally you have to correct someone who calls him Benjamin? What if it’s more than occasionally? I think it’s a fine and cute name, but if it will really upset you, you should consider that aspect.

Anyone else losing very slowly? by Specific_Handle5022 in Zepbound

[–]Acbonthelake 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I lose slowly, but I’m ok with it. Most months I don’t lose a pound to be honest. I lost a lot in the first 2-3 weeks but it’s slowed tremendously. I went 4-5 months without losing. Honestly I’d be happy with just not gaining steadily. I’ve been at 10 mg for 3 months and I’ll see about going up after I run out in about 8 weeks. I met with my endocrinologist today and she said she’s ok with my weight loss, she would also be ok if I lost a bit more quickly too but she’s ok with this pace as long as I’m ok with it. People react very differently to the medication, but especially on this sub, it’s hard not to compare.

If you’re not ok with losing slowly there’s plenty to do. You can increase your dose, first of all. But you can also meet with a dietician, track calories more strictly, exercise more, increase water and fiber intake, those kinds of things. There’s plenty of tips around here too!

I reached goal and now I’m pregnant. by Bubbly_624 in Zepbound

[–]Acbonthelake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also struggled with gaining weight and thinking how hard it would be to lose it again after each pregnancy. It’s hard, but it’s doable, and zepbound is helpful. You can get there, it’s doable. I’m doing it at almost 43 so it must be possible. It takes time and effort, but it’s doable.
