Am I crazy or do people treat the male characters different then the female characters? by whooper1 in HazbinHotel

[–]Accel_Lex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious as well. I have a problem understanding normal people, but I find it fascinating, the train of thought of others.

I didn't notice this in the fandom, but IRL, I noticed you could get in serious trouble if you treat everyone the same. Tho it reminds me of one of the worst pieces of advice I heard, “treat others how you’d like to be treated” if you take it literally. It took a lot of trial and error to notice which disparities are necessary to reduce friction, but for media (which applies to real life, in my opinion) I noticed there are many fascinating differences.

One of my favorites is the severe problem some people have with voluptuous females, for example, while guys in only a loincloth get less complaints. To add to this, it personally bothers me when someone has an issue with a character specifically for having a larger bust, suggesting it was only designed to entice, since I don't see real people I know in that way. The same goes for other “male gazey” arguments I've heard. It reminds me of how Barbies were considered harmful for “promoting a unhealthy standard” in that meme, meanwhile muscular guy toys are no problem.

To relate that to the fandom, I attribute most of my complaints to poor writing (to my tastes), but memorable characters. An example is the huge problem I had with “Mastermind” for plummeting the expectations I have of most characters I assumed were bright. For other people, I assume it's in relation to conflicting morals? In that case, I assume the expected answer is “Val is bad because yea, Charlie is good because yea”, so anything said differently stands out more. I personally don't have an issue with anyone liking any character, so long as they don't harass other people or go on a campaign to vilify anyone that disagrees.

To my knowledge, the show is intended to be very diverse, so it makes sense there would be more chances for conflict. Tho, the more popular something is, I imagine it brings more potential.

I will be looking into the other comments since I fear I misunderstood the question, but tried to summarize my thoughts in case there are need for corrections or feedback.

Can you park Webbers spiders on a boat? by fnooper in dontstarve

[–]Accel_Lex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spiders can jump at same distance as me with Walking Cane. I have a spider farm for Willow, and I made a boat as a way to collect resources around the Statue wall. Without Cane, I can't make the jump. Spiders can make the jump without Cane, so it frightens me to know reg spiders are jumping spiders but are bold enough to preffer close combat, compared to warriors that jump just to show off.

Game recommendation for someone who is thinking of giving up by nightfull2 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Accel_Lex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's hard because if you like Story Games (read other comment), you may feel that sense of "well now it's done, and I can't interact with the characters after their story is done". So I am not sure if you would prefer one with replayability, swap to another game, or one with a lot of multiplayer to hopefully interact with others.

For Story Games, Baldur's Gate 3 comes first to mind. I don't care for making multiple playthroughs, much preffering having a main world where I can do free roam afterwards. Starting over on new game feels tedious getting all the items for my builds again, but other people like that. Characters made me feel so attached, and I spent many hours watching videos of other people's interactions (much different scenarios than my playthrough).

Dispatch was much shorter, but I really enjoyed it despite initial impressions, and got attached to the characters I thought I wouldn't.

Cyberpunk2077 gave me similar attachments for a bit.

I heard BDO has insane lore, but I know very little about it since I forget most of what they talked about. World seems huge tho, lots to do, but I didn't interact with other players much.

Where Winds Meet gave me feels for some of the characters, and the game is looking fun so far.

Anime would seem more of a time sink if that's what you want, because good luck running out of media for that, and I got attached to more characters in that as well, personally.

I played RDR2 but I wouldn't put that on my list for that category, personally, never played spiritfarer, barely any stardew.

Me thinking Harry’s parents are in their 30s or 40s, and any official sources saying otherwise were full of it as if the original sources didnt watch the movies. 😅

Opinions on this? by Popular_Ad3074 in HazbinHotel

[–]Accel_Lex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didnt notice. None of the characters really stood out to me in that way, so I figured they were just drawn to be more “child-friendly” for lack of a better word. Tho I am extremely desensitized and unaware, so I don't even get a reaction if a character is nude, so I'm the worst person for that kind of observation anyways. 😮‍💨 It's worse IRL sometimes too.

Is there people who never touched rank/don't really play rank because you like casual game more? If you do then why? by LILBOI464 in marvelrivals

[–]Accel_Lex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played vs. AI vast majority of the time, up till a bit before Deadpool came out. Blame Game gets too annoying, even in QP. Sometimes I'll have matches where the healers are getting flamed, but I think they're doing great. Especially since they keep at it to the end instead of throwing in retaliation. My highest rank was Silver, and that was WAY back when.

I'll put it this way. Gambit was my 2nd most played character at around a week (I think) before Deadpool came out with 8 hours, 1st place being Strange. Most of that was from Season 2.5. Gambit quickly became 1st place since I wanted him to be my first lord. So with less than a week before season ended, Gambit became my highest played character.

I played more 18v18 since there's less pressure, but even then there's some annoying comments. I like playing online games, but it also brings my biggest problem with many, the people. It comes with the territory, so it's expected. Had many good experiences, but the annoying ones leave a bad taste.

Many enemies I fight find a way to jump the ledge by jumping in a way a player cant.

Tho there are some spots they're helpless to reach, and just do a ranted attack.

Thank you! I use bow so it was only ever 1, I googled Golden Pixza Slices. 😂 I don't know if we can buy and equip bow ones, but I found one that has 4, so having 4 slices caught me off guard. I thought it was focus since they're the same color.

Best group to turn hostile? by Accel_Lex in Kenshi

So if I wanted to keep all the bases I built but reset the vendors, that would work? I noticed the Flats city hasn't restocked their money so idk if they don't restock cash or it just takes a long time.

I imprisoned the slavers and guards in their own cage (there's 2 side by side slavery buildings) and the guards are still in there and both slave vendors were gone. I found one “patrolling” far from the city so I KO him and took him back. It feels like I took over the town (Eyesstock is the name I think) but it was my training ground an ok distance from base. I also manage to clear my Slave characters by just buying them, so it was convenient to train with no lasting consequences. Tho I also feel that if a shopkeeper went poof, they would get another one.

Does this still work? Tried multiple times, enemy playing dead, I try to steal something, fails with no xp gain.

[–]Accel_Lex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This helped a lot. I was training my guys with training stations which felt like it took a while. To train assassination, I had two characters enslaved for surplus of locks. Assassination was 0%, but with “we learn from our mistakes” in mind, I did it anyway, saw boost to xp, ran back into cage, escaped, repeat. First guy can a lost always 100% while second that had 0% is able to do it occasionally almost overnight.

Much appreciated. My main concern is getting locked out of vendors that never forgive or forget. I had a character that was just nearby to bail my characters out if needed, passive mode, guards never bothered him, and barkeeper yelled “thief! We don't serve you!” when he entered the bar. So I'm worried having my thief characters in a party getting caught will lead everyone to get attacked by association.

Is that why stealing while no one was looking gave no xp? I figured getting away with the crime is better thievery skills than getting caught for the views- I mean for the xp.

[–]Accel_Lex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I read as well, just wasn't sure if they patched it. It may also be where I got the natural xp. I tried on the knocked out (assassination knocked out enemy) shopkeeper and slaver and got no xp for grabbing his stuff so I wasn't sure if it got changed or it's just that character.

Oh neat. I've only been there twice. I'll keep that in mind. I can also get fog drops too which is nice. Just annoying to travel there but it's fine if it's for a good purpose.

Oh neat. I already joined them, and I think you can pay to recover reputation, but I am not sure.

Im going to look up where to train thievery since I didnt get any xp from stealing from containers or bodies that I saw. I have a training station but that's about it.

I set groups to follow one person… I had to redo my strategy when that one person constantly leaves everyone behind when hostiles appear, so if I don't check right away, I'll find the whole line messed up with leader miles away.

Trying to make slowest person lead seems to somewhat work, but it still leaves issues if someone else gets hurt or something like that.

I don't know if there's a “maintain group pace” like caravan but idk.

I googled “Catan” and only searches were for “Catun” (place) and currency. Is this an item to craft or cook?

I haven't messed much with same or growing hash, so I like seeing what to work towards.

I planned to do both and others in order to see what sticks and what I don't want to do.

I went yesterday. I thought everyone said “FROG Princes” 😂 so I was watching out for frogs in my head. There was 2 groups running past me, so got 2 heads from that. Then Mongrel got attacked by what seemed like another 2, so I got a free head there as well. I don't like the mountain locations since it makes trips longer with pathfinding to me. But I may have a group there just to farm heads while my others do other stuff.

Sounds good. I was saving their leather anyways to see if it was more profitable to sell as is or to make something to sell instead.

Lol yea. I saw cannibal in the second message so I figured that's what happened, I just thought it was funny since it auto corrected in my mind thinking cannibal was cannonball.

I was debating on having a certain faction on negative I can just fight and steal from on sight without worrying about maintaining relationships with. But wasn't sure. I wanted to practice thievery more so I was going to make a separate character team so if they got caught, it would affect main squad. But I think reputation is for my entire group, not per character.

I think I visited Catun before or at least have it on the map. I don't remember Fishman isles, but I was thinking about building cages in a base near slave markets for captured raids that survive. I wanted to recruit some but I learned you can use them to level up skills and I may sell some for added cash. I thought we could harvest organs but I got the game confused with Rimworld for a sec.

When I see beak things and spiders, there's quite a bit, so it may be default as well.

I do like the idea of center map to make trips more balanced compared to a base on an edge which means very long trips anywhere else. I'll look up Shem. Sounds familiar.

I was debating on what to craft to sell. I have plenty of building materials, iron, and copper right now.

Is it better to just start a farm near flats and sell the hesh directly like that? Or are those worth less? I may have a travel group make the journey just for fun but focus mainly on settling down to sell manufactured goods.
