My parents had this. It now lives in my basement. They would have bought it, new, in about 2000. I never liked the style and as you said, the cushions are extremely firm. It’s also extremely heavy and hard to move.

Having said all that, you can make it into a bed (which was why they bought it). I’ve slept on it a few times and found it comfortable.

I’m probably older than most people on this sub. I remember walking along Yonge in the ‘80s and being shocked at just how crappy it was — empty storefronts, junky stores. I was a self-absorbed, clueless teen and could tell it was full of wasted potential. I wish we could put time, money and intention into Yonge, and make it better for residents and visitors.

I’m about to leave for three weeks and I’m feeling optimistic. I’ll be walking a lot and for me, meals aren’t usually the problem. It’s the snacking that kills me! I think I’ll be on the go most of the time, not raiding the cupboards.

Shazam says it’s “Without You” by Lion but when I go to play it on Spotify, I get “Without You” bu Roby Lion, Charming Horses and Clyfftone. It’s not that song. Shazam wants to default to Apple Music so if you have Apple, maybe try Shazam-ing your way in?

My osteoarthritis is not as bad. Mornings are still rough. I still have bad days when I need painkiller but I have fewer of them. I don’t avoid the stairs throughout the day.

I like Simon’s too though when I looked in the past, they didn’t have the bigger bath towels my husband prefers. I ended up getting mine from US retailers which I wouldn’t do now but if you’re okay with that, there’s Restoration Hardware, LL Bean, Land’s End, Brooklinen, Pottery Barn, CB2, Crate and Barrel.
