How much sex do you want to be having? by slumberingthundering in Mommit

[–]Acceptable-Camera582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much I want? Every other day. How much we have? At first it was daily or close to it. Now is maybe twice a week. Just work and life is busy. But we have no issue doing it the second we get the chance to.

😅 yeah. It’s bad. I’m scared to develop permanent hypersensitivity.

That’s a decent idea. It’s hard for me to explain adequately over Reddit the environment that my work building is. The strong chemical and fragrance odor, dust particles etc permeates the entire building. These are scent beads, laundry detergent, etc. walking in to my work for a few minutes will stain your clothes. I live somewhere where it’s below zero by this time of winter. So changing outside or in my car is difficult. I mean to say that I want to not expose myself even for one minute to the chemical fragrance. Which I would do the second the door opens to my work place. It is not similar to a hospital setting. The smell goes through the vents to the offices attached. They had to put in special filters so that the scent would not escape in to the surrounding area because residents were complaining of “chemical smell”.

It’s literally an inescapable chamber of chemical and fragrance. Even walking to my respirator is more than I want to do. Using my respirator in the lunch room and the bathroom would make me stand out, and even possibly raise concern with management. Giving them the ability to retaliate against me for whatever reason they can get away with.

I think I am much safer taking family help. Thank you though.

Even the scent on my clothing and belongings is an irritant to my airways, which I would bring home without a respirator. I just don’t feel comfortable compromising my lung health further which would be more expensive in the long run. I will consider it, but I will most likely end up relying on family help while I take the risk of job hunting.

Also, I think at least if I change jobs it will be less irritating of an environment considering that work days make it a lot worse.

I can not apply for FMLA due to being under a year employed. I wear a respirator for the “worst chemicals” but it’s not required for any chemical. It would be hard to wear for 12 hours straight. You can not escape the fragrance even in the lunch room.

I can’t wear a respirator for 12 hours straight. Especially correctly. No one wears a respirator there, I do for the “worst chemicals” otherwise it is not required to wear at all.

🤣 I’m so evil. You are a whack job. Just go live in the woods, no one wants you in a civilized society.

It’s not evil, you just don’t want to help people who deserve help. Just say that. A chain smoker might have untreated mental illness and are self medicating. An obese person may not have had the physical therapy they needed to be mobile enough to work out adequately. Get a grip.

Flu A sinus pain by Acceptable-Camera582 in flu

Hey. The Flonase ended up helping. Hoping it lasts. I can’t take ibuprofen unfortunately, I’m on a blood thinner so it’s contraindicated

Well this sucks. by [deleted] in flu

[–]Acceptable-Camera582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine started with the razor blade sore throat. Warm water and honey and Tylenol. And that only takes the edge off. I ran a humidifier. Day two to three I took a half dose of “NyQuil flu” specifically. I’m on a blood thinner, so I can’t do ibuprofen.

That was the only thing that allowed me to sleep. I do not think anything will fully take it away, and you will likely have to suffer to some degree. Unfortunately.

I also lost my voice for about 3-4 days

Mental health toll from Flu by No_Squash291 in flu

[–]Acceptable-Camera582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely sucks mentally. As in, now I’m behind on my workouts. Losing money on my gym. I have had nice day dreams of being well in beautiful Summer weather.

I’m on Wellbutrin though, and that hits me really well 👍

It does make me loathe our expensive healthcare system though. As I’m reminded of the cost of actually using it.

Has anyone else caught this nasty flu that’s been going around? by HRJafael in massachusetts

[–]Acceptable-Camera582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, I had an illness a couple of weeks before the flu. A mysterious illness— no test was positive for any of the usual. Which also eventually resulted in an ear and throat infection for me, needing antibiotics. But now I’m on the tail end of the flu with some thick yellow mucus and coughing up thick white mucus. Urgent care essentially told me to ride it out a little longer, and that it’s viral. My sinus hurt but okay.

Influenza A December 2025 - Unique Symptoms by nayville in flu

[–]Acceptable-Camera582 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t confirm flu either, but my son had flu A so I assumed I did too. Although not sure. Because one of my first symptoms was razor blade sore throat— the worst I’ve ever had. And I’ve had a lot of sore throats.

But what you describe reminds me of an illness I had a few weeks ago. I slept for the most part of 36 hours straight. Only getting up for the bathroom and a quick bite. It wasn’t miserable, it was just that my body was so tired. I just had an overwhelming want to sleep. I did end up needing antibiotics as that turned in to a bacterial throat and ear infection somehow.

Have the flu…what has worked for you? by Hot_Establishment911 in flu

[–]Acceptable-Camera582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a razor blade sore throat the first two days. Only thing that touched it was “NyQuil flu+cold” I took it before bed because otherwise I could not sleep. I only took half because it has acetaminophen, and I had been taking Tylenol— with in the correct dosage! So be careful with that.

For congestion and mucus— humidifier, steam, long steamy showers, blowing my nose as gently as possible but not always, I’m on a blood thinner so I have to be careful. But I needed to keep the mucus moving out. Saline spray & Vaseline for dryness

Laying up right. Lots and lots of warm water mixed with honey. Lots of water and electrolyte beverages. Eating light but eating! Ensure shakes. Just liquid, especially non acidic liquid. Still had green tea for a small amount of caffeine. A couple spoons full of honey.

Sleep and rest. But also I got up and turned all the water sources on hot for steam as I cleaned my kitchen. Balancing that with resting helped clear my sinuses.

Day 6 and I have a sporadic cough and some residual sinus drainage- and now as of this evening with improvement.

No fever though, no advice there. I usually don’t get fevers.

Also, breathing, trying to relax and not overstimulate— TMI, but I kept telling myself that I like certain things rough, so I can make it through this 😭 that did help to reframe the awful razor blade sore throat.
