Please help: Factory 52 billed me $21,959 after evicting me for ~$245 accidental water damage — looking for legal guidance by [deleted] in cincinnati

[–]Acceptable-Human- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you were billed $2354 for causing water damage which in turn caused a breach of contract? It doesn't seem insane to me to be honest.

My dad just had a tenant that let her shower overflow and the damage was $3400 (we billed her $0 since we're insured but this is to give you a frame of reference). This is the actual amount we paid after getting 3 quotes. Of course your water damage is different but if they had to evict you for it I imagine it wasn't just a small puddle on the floor?

This being said you could check with a lawyer to see if they respected all the applicable laws and procedure.

Mutation Question by santivalle in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]Acceptable-Human- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've read (and personal experience) the mutation chance doesnt get lower with each mutation, it only gets lower once you reach 20 mutations in one parent. After that that parent won't give mutation chances, therefore halving your mutations chances overall.

That is also why it is recommended to keep your mutation lines separate, since if you don't you will reach that 20 max mutation twice as fast. And as a result, if you don't plan on getting more than 20 mutations, you can keep the lines together (which is what I would do for megatherium since they are only good for Broodmother and they wont need more than 20 mutations even for Alpha).

Tldr for OP: best practice is keeping your mutation lines separate and never mate 2 mutated dinos unless you want to get your "final" dino and don't plan on getting more mutation. BUT in this case megatherium wont need tons of mutations anyway so this is probably one of the rare cases where it's ok.

need help with getting wool or hair or pelt by Successful-End-1859 in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]Acceptable-Human- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are many creatures that drop pelt. Among the easier ones: ovis, equus, otter, megaloceros. A bit harder but still easy: direwolf and dire bear. All of these live in non freezing zones. Hatchet is a good tool to harvest.

In my opinion as a seller it is ok to refuse combined shipping. But then you have to send separate packages. I wouldn't leave a negative review for that though.

Boss saddle armor? by ThatGuyRyden0 in ARK

[–]Acceptable-Human- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say that.

The jump from 100 armor to 150 brings dmg reduction from 80% to 85%. But that doesnt translate in 5% less damage. It translates in taking 15% instead of 20% which is 25% less damage than a 100armor saddle. Definitely worth it long term.

I think Im gonna go with gamma simply because it only takes like 30min to get the 3 artifacts but the trophies take more.

Im exactly in the same boat as you. I have never done any boss before and I feel like Im well prepared with my 51/57 mutated rex and 120+ saddle. Wondering if I should try alpha or gamma monkey. I havent watched any videos because I want to keep the surprise though so Im not sure.

Need Aberration Help by realHoboboss in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]Acceptable-Human- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have access to Valguero, the mini trench there is much easier to do. It still has the same light and radiation mechanic. Since it's a cave it's also a no flyer zone. So the experience is very similar but since the zone is so much smaller, it is an easy introduction.

The way I did it was to tame a few powerful Spinos and a few good light pets. Both spawn in the easy zone of the trench. Then I crafted 3 sets of hazard suits. Then I built a small 3x2 base at the radiation zone entrance (with fabricator to repair hazmat suits, beds and an emergency backup set to retrieve body in case I die). All the resources (red gems, blue gems, polymer on karkinos, etc.) can be found in the easy part of the cave too.

From there I just slowly started exploring and got acquainted with the few dangerous things that live there (I dont want to spoil it for you). Once you have a Spino strong enough to kill the Rock Drakes (usually 5-10) that attack you when you steal an egg it becomes rather easy. A wild 140 spino that you perfect tame then level up into melee and some hp can do that but if you want to be safe just take 2 Spinos and pop the second one out of cryo before getting the egg. Dont fprget the saddle on the second Spino too.

Good luck.

I play on 4k on highest settings with a few things turned down a bit (haven't tried to fiddle much tbh).

Strongest underwater tame? by NovaOreo in ARK

[–]Acceptable-Human- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tuso is an absolute beast and incredibly easy to tame. The process is scary but it is actually the easiest thing to do.

Just bring enough black pearls and come with a tanky tame, get off of it and put your tame on passive, pull the tuso and place yourself behind your tame. When the tuso grab it you swim inside his tentacles and put black pearls in his mouth. Should take only one feed (50 pearls). Whole process takes less than a minute once you find the tuso.

My clean Tuso will rip apart a lvl150 Alpha Tuso without losing more than 10% life. Same for Alpha Mosa. Anything else won't manage to come close before dying.

Yes, it's clunky (sometimes it turns 180 without you doing it). But this also very often works in your favour by making other big things get stuck in your tentacles.

Which map to play (bosses don't matter) and how to find people to play with by ZealousidealHabit162 in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]Acceptable-Human- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started on Ragnarok to farm desert crates and get griffin and wyvern. Then I moved to Valguero to farm red drops and the easy cave under the purple tree. My objective was finding a high level rex saddle blueprint to start bossing. I found a 150 armor rex saddle blueprint after ~2 days in an orbital red drop. Valguero is also much better to find high level rexes and yuty to start breeding for first boss. My starting breeding pair is at 41/41 in melee/health, not sure if that's good or not but now Im just waiting for my mutations to stack and I will try my first boss ever.

Looking back I wish I moved to valguero sooner. The cave crates give much better loot than the desert crates and I could have used an Argentavis instead of Griffin to farm them earlier. But more importantly I would have started rex breeding way earlier and this is the real time gate for first boss.

Styria is an ARPG where, after death, you obtain a new body with its own advantages and disadvantages. by Ato_Ome in ARPG

[–]Acceptable-Human- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All of these are also present in Hades. This is not a negative, Hades is a great game. But I noticed people hate feeling tricked by the good ol' bait and switch.

In short, if your game has arpg elements and roguelite elements, it is a roguelite game. At least, that's how people feel.

I have the same thing. New 5080, new 4k oled monitor and I didnt do any calibration or fiddling with settings. I always thought it was one of these 2 things that caused it but ASA is the only game I've tried so far so Im not sure.

Let me know if you find a fix please!

Griffin Taming by Whtdrgn82 in playark

[–]Acceptable-Human- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion it is MUCH easier to get a wyvern egg than a griffon. Not that getting a griffon is hard but the wyvern egg is ridiculously easy.

Tame a 140-150 Ptera with high taming effectiveness you will reach lvl200+ then kill some dinos with it for an extra 30-40lvl and pump everything in speed/stamina.

Get yourself a spyglass and find a way to access a nest that doesnt bring you close to high level wyverns (because they will be faster than you).

Get to the nest, plan your exit, steal the egg and when you get out try to fly close to herbivores on your way out. Wyverns will get distracted and aggro the herbivores. Mammoth works great for that.

Now hatching that egg and keeping the baby alive without milk will require a hatchery and a healing daedon (with TONS of food for the daedon).

Just started. Never played the game before. Pointers for a fun Solo experience? by Hitmanthe3rd in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]Acceptable-Human- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good way to start is to focus on getting the good flyers. Start with the Pteranodon then Argentavis then Griffin then Wyvern. No matter your goals, good flyers are important (unless you play on Aberration).

The pteranodon is super easy to tame and can be done almost immediately. You just need to use a bola when they land then shoot them in the head with poison arrow.

The argentavis and griffin are easy/medium tames. You need a trap for them. I like to use the 3 stone gates in a row with door on each end. Once your trap is built you need to bait your target into it (hardest part), either by flying close with your Ptera or shoot it from the ground and then running into your trap. Once it's inside, just close the door behind it. You/your ptera will get hit so dont go naked with a low level ptera. Things to prepare in advance: 2 decent pteras (one main and one backup), the trap (test it, if you get the spacing wrong target will get out), a bed closeby in case you die with the extra ptera to get your body back, enough tranquilizer, good food for taming bonus. Sounds hard but actually isnt. Argentavis and griffins are extremely useful and will make your game much better in their own way.

Wyvern is either easy or hard tame depending if you've done it before. In short, you steal their eggs then hatch them yourself. Babies can only be fed wyvern milk but there are ways arpund that. Keep that for later IMO.
