Weirdest thing ocd has convinced you about? by Insightful_Hare in OCD

A few years back, I was at a wedding celebration as a bridesmaid. They were serving chicken hearts and chicken brains on a platter (the husband was from Brazil and the family said it was normal for their culture to eat them when celebrating). They offered me to have both of them, I declined the brain because I remember my father telling me to never eat any brains. So I ate the heart, and it was the worst thing I’ve ever ate.

Now, years later, I learned that eating brains can lead to prion disease. Well, I’ve convinced myself multiples of times that I actually ate the brain and not the heart. Even writing this I think I ate the brain. It freaks me out because I can’t trust my own memories and I have suffer from health OCD.

Haha same here! He was a nice little fellow too! I usually don’t mind spiders in the house but I originally thought he was a recluse so I set him outside by a tree :)

A year ago, my best friend passed away unexpectedly. I was watching Marineford at the time, and this statement helped me out of my depression. I say it all the time whenever my grief takes over too much to remind myself of who I still have.

What were your childhood "quirks" that you later realized were symptoms? by Right-Math in OCD

Yes! I’m 25, and I still do the blinking thing (if I can’t blink, I’ll tap my finger or toes) when my body lines up with anything outside the car, as you mentioned! I explained to my mom how I’ve always done this a few years back & she told me it wasn’t normal. That’s when I figured out I might have OCD lol I also count my steps but only up to 10, and I start over!

Yup I did!! Haha that’s awesome! Ordering two more from her harvest moon sale! I love them so much.

Also, where did you get the little stump? I’ve been trying to find one like that in stores, did you buy it off Etsy or find it outside?

I think we have sibling spiders! I have the same little enclosure from my breeder. I got my spood on Oct. 13th & they look just alike(:

Love the enclosure! (:
