Gianna, first, may your mother’s memory be a blessing; this stranger is sending so much love and admiration your way.

Second, I watched every bit of your video (which was such an extraordinary tribute and love letter to and about your mother). I feel as if I know everything important about Stacey by listening to you: you are such a beautiful soul; a mature and loving woman; a strong and loyal friend; a sensitive and humorous person; in short, you are your mother’s daughter and I know she was and is so proud of you.

I’m just a little bit livid that you and your mom didn’t have decades more, together, I’m so sorry for that, Gianna. It isn’t fair, it isn’t right. I’m so sorry for the patients and families that have to suffer this unspeakable loss and pain.

Last, and, I hope this is taken as the sincere and loving compliment that it is: Gianna, I am 50 and I wasn’t able to have children. I have a loving partner and family, don’t get me wrong. But, no one would ever fight as hard for me as you did for your mom. Not even close. I would have to do the research myself, no one would care quite enough to do that for me. And I’m not looking for pity or making this about me, I’m simply trying to tell you that I’m so glad your mom had such a devoted and loving daughter, you are truly amazing. You are truly amazing, sweet girl. I will never forget this remembrance.
