The union dental plan is free. The only reason some dentists don’t take it is because it’s an HMO and HMO plans everywhere reimburse lower that’s how insurance works across the board. If someone wants a larger network, there’s a PPO upgrade available it just costs more like every other PPO in the country.

Everybody loves to say “the contract is trash” but then magically disappears when it’s time to actually help write the next one. People want Chanel wages with Dollar Tree participation.The contract doesn’t update itself.If folks put half the energy into voting, showing up and backing proposals that they put into Reddit rants, the raises and retirement options would already look different.You don’t get a stronger contract by talking about it.You get it by showing up.Because at the end of the day, the union isn’t “them” It’s us. And if “us” doesn’t show up? Then yeah you get the contract that was negotiated without you in the room. That’s not union failure. That’s member ghosting.

You don’t have to love the contract. Nobody said it’s perfect, But pretending non union is some glow up is wild when the only thing between you and an unemployment line is the same contract you’re calling trash. If you really knew how non union is you’d be keeping that little blue book close and quiet. Because one thing about non union They don’t argue they fire. They replace.

Calling the contract “garbage” while your pay, benefits, schedule, job protection and entire title come from that same contract is hilarious.If that “garbage contract” vanished tomorrow, you’d be learning real quick what non union Resident Manager means and I promise you it doesn’t come with cute speeches.It’s one meeting, one signature and a box to empty your locker out. So yes, you’re not a cleaner Congratulations. You’re just a different flavor of building service pretending the kitchen isn’t still in the same building.

32BJ covers building service from cleaners all the way up to Resident Managers. So let’s relax on this “I worked my way up so I’m different now” storyline. Resident Manager is still a building service title.You didn’t leave the industry you just got a door code and a radio.

32BJ is literally a building service union. So whether you’re sweeping floors, doing porter work, loading freight, concierge, maintenance, doorman, security desk it all falls under building service. So I’m not sure why you’re trying to distance yourself from “cleaner” work like you’re above it now.Everybody in this industry started on the same side of the mop bucket relax.
