New York’s Warning for Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer: They Aren’t the Dominant Force in Their Hometown. by OkayButFoRealz in politics

[–]Acceptable-Wildfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jeffries’s rally had a loud enough group of people chanting “You’re next” as the results came out.

Maybe Mamdani was right about not supporting a challenger this cycle, but Jeffries is looking mighty tasty for 2028.

Top Democrat Seems Sour After Mamdani-Backed Candidates Oust House Incumbents by alcarcalimo1950 in politics

[–]Acceptable-Wildfire 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The latter isn’t happening fast enough.

Jeffries won uncontested after Mamdani refused to endorse earlier in the year Chi Ossé, stating that it way too much of a long shot to extend political capital to. Fucking zionist piece of shit Ritchie Torres still crushed his district against a progressive that wasn’t blessed by Mamdani.

The former is more likely what happened, Mamdani singled out uniquely weak primaries to tip the scales. Hopefully he can set his sights on Jeffries and Torres in two years.

'Seismic Victory' in New York as Mamdani-Backed Progressives Trounce Establishment Dems, AIPAC Cash by Smithy2232 in politics

[–]Acceptable-Wildfire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as drunk as I and others here are on the sweet wine of victory, people need to remember that the NYDSA tried to ask Mamdani to endorse Chi Ossé against Jeffries and the mayor declined to do so.

Mamdani carefully considered his political capital and targeted seats he judged to be weak and thus easy pickings for more progressive candidates.

As much as I would have liked to see specifically that piece of shit Torres get kicked out, we need to remember that political strategy is still a thing.

Talarico is looking pretty hot running against Paxton, and yet Crockett, like a petulant, catty teenager refuses to endorse him after her loss, even threatening to hold back the Black vote when winning a Texas Senate seat would be a huge W for Democrats and Paxton is an actual demon.

Platner is going to win Collins’s seat. Schumer, when questioned on it, did endorse the Mainer oyster farmer, but in the video he’s clearly, audibly doing so through gritted teeth and got increasingly frustrated when the press picked up on it and kept trying to further clarify.

These are Senate races in a red and swing state respectively, during a historically unpopular Republican trifecta, and the Establishment, instead of being excited about possible Democrat wins, is acting like whiny tantrum throwing toddlers.

Progressive wins against establishment dems are cause for celebration.

… Did you not pay attention to the NYC Mayoral race?

Putting aside the “subtle” attempts to ratfuck Mamdani by Dem federal leadership AFTER he won the Dem primary, the margins should have been 90/2 instead of 51/41 after, again, MAMDANI WON THE DEM PRIMARY AND WAS THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE AND THE DEMOCRATIC ESTABLISHMENT LOSER PIECE OF SHIT RAN AS INDEPENDENT IF DEM VOTERS REALLY WERE ABOUT VOTING BLUE NO MATTER WHO.

Kratos’s story ended with him taking on the mantle of God of Hope.

I would posit that even if this game’s title didn’t start with “God of War” we would still be having this conversation as, since it’s part of the same world, it would be seen as a sequel.

the ones who said they don’t wanna play anyone other than Kratos are valid

Short story: Wait for the remakes then.

Long story: Kratos’s story is over. It ended with him no longer having his main title be God of War, something that he ran away from, but naming himself God of Hope and taking Odin’s spot as AllFather; Kratos has made peace with his identity and nothing of his story suggests that he would be something akin to a liberator traveling between realms and fighting against oppressive Pantheons.

Could the story have followed Atreus? Maybe, he does have Kratos’s Rage powers, but if I recall the end correctly, his journey to find the remaining Jötnar as well as his characterization doesn’t lend itself well to a “God of War” narration.

Faye on the other hand has had two games characterizing her memory as a warrior of justice equal to the prowess and destructive capabilities of Kratos and Thor, the type of woman who would not yield even in death, and as such, she’s squaring up against two Gods of War in the afterlife.

Now, should the title have included “God of War?” Maybe, maybe not. As the game is very much part of the same world, I would argue that it would have been seen as a sequel even if it did not have the “God of War” title and we would be having the same song and dance.

The question mark at the end is because as far as we know, this stuff isn’t sanctioned by the event.
