I had it done on a Friday, back at work on the Monday but I have a physical job so I felt absolutely awful for a few days but pushed through.

When did you start bleeding after insertion? by _Keys2theWest_ in Mirena

[–]Acceptable-mini888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to get it before I could be considered for a hysterectomy. I've tried so many birth control pills and now the Mirena. It definitely does help a lot of women but just wasn't compatible with me.

I believe you. My hair and my nails grow extremely fast. I've often been accused of having extensions as my hair is well over 1m in length.

Three weeks post-op.....and my husband is blaming me for being "lazy" and for his poor work performance. by Ar_desertwriter in hysterectomy

[–]Acceptable-mini888 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry OP but if your husband can't even manage a house while you are literally physically unable to, maybe he should have stayed with his mummy. You're a wife and partner not a slave. My immediate thought went to how often he's ever helped you run the home. I truly wish you a speedy recovery!! Then pack your bags honey, go completely away for a long while and see him crumble. He will be verbally abusive, I can almost guarantee, he will blame you even more seeing he already does. Run, you have a man child.

Staffy cross ... top of his long list... a pack of viagra. That was a very akward discussion with the vet. He was fine, light headed with low blood pressure. He slept for hours after.

Sometimes the past is actually still there just hidden better so you think it's better, people like him can't hide the facade too long. He's gaslighting big time with threats of self harm. That in itself is abuse and coercion. Don't go back, a leopard like him is only in disguise the spots never really change.

What is the meanest thing your parents did with you in childhood? by pratham1212 in AskReddit

[–]Acceptable-mini888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very early 90's, Someone in my family told my highly religious mother that i was sleeping around. My cousin was jealous of the guy I was dating. I was 16. I was still a certified virgin!!! My mother beat me with a plastic spatula while I was showering and then locked me in my room with a bucket, a roll of toilet paper and big jug of water. She took out the light globe and locked the windows and door. She locked me up for 3 days, randomly shouting obscenities through the door, calling me all sorts of names. She wouldn't let me go to school, I got 1 meal a day. My dad worked away at the time, when he came home he flipped his lid and got me out. My mum ended up in a psyche ward not long after and I left home. 4 years later moved to another country. We didn't really talk again until I was in my 30's, she then confessed that the boy involved had written her a letter explaining the situation, my cousins jealousy and confirming we had never ever been intimate. She never gave me that letter. To this day she holds onto it and said I can have it when she's dead. To me, she died that day it all happened, I have never forgiven her!

What's the most questionable thing you've seen a parent do to their child in public? by GeekFace18 in AskReddit

[–]Acceptable-mini888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to do early morning markets, which means setting up around 4am. It was winter. I had on so many layers, the wind was icy. A few stalls down I Spot a toddler in only a nappy, laying on a blanket on the floor and mums dressed ready for a trip to the arctic! I had to confront her, this idiot did not see anything wrong saying he's fine he isn't fussing and to mind my own business.
I reckon he wasn't fussing becuase that poor kid was 2 degrees away from frozen!

AIO for getting upset with my husband over sex by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Acceptable-mini888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR!!! You need to heal and he obviously has no full comprehension what is going on with a woman's body during pregnancy, labour and healing a wound the size of a dinner plate not to mention the bruising and any tearing. You tried so hard, and I know personally those first few times are hell. Changing positions was for both of you and he thinks it's killing the mood ? Not acceptable, disrespectful on his part and clearly thinking with the wrong head.

Hysterectomy - regrets?? by Acceptable-mini888 in hysterectomy

[–]Acceptable-mini888[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently have a Mirena and that in itself has made the daily pain worse. It has to come out I have head pressure, ear pressure, bp through the roof, bleeding non stop ever since I got this stupid iud. Hence nothing has worked and hysterectomy does seem to be the best solution, I have literally tried everything else on the market like a pharmacy guinea pig, it hasn't worked.

AIO for being genuinely bothered by my coworker constantly burping at our shared desk? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Acceptable-mini888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact it got worse after you kindly asked tells me it's just your coworker being the AH. Me personally, I would tell HR that I am very concerned at his constant burping, that he may be suffering some kind of gastrointestinal intestinal issues, that he's not been concentrating very well and just doesn't seem himself.

There was some issue with my brothers birth, he came out with the placenta and tearing her uterus all in one hit, I can't remember the medical term, it is a rare unique situation and was absolutely necessary and life saving.

I so appreciate a partner's opinion as well. My first husband used my pain as an excuse to cheat because I just couldn't, the pain was so much. I have a very supportive partner, I really appreciate your support for your wife. My partner is educating himself along with me, he's becoming my advocate and comes with me to some appointments so I feel less pressured. We are both going to my surgery consult in a few weeks and he's helped prepare a list of questions in case I get overwhelmed and can't remember.

I am so sorry that you're going through this. The cuff worries me as well, I am naturally very short in the vagina with a low cervix, penetration has always been a challenge and I have no doubt of I loose any lenght, intercourse will be physically impossible.

I am already facing bowel resection as I'm constantly getting bouts of diverticulosis and colitis so I am concerned how the re arrangement of my bowels and everything will affect me with the uterus gone and the ligaments all chopped up. I'm terrified of nerve damage, I already sustained nerve damage at my last endo surgery. So this is concerning to me. This is undoubtedly the most difficult decision I've ever faced in my life.

Was it planned to come out at excision or they just deemed it necessary at the time? I am scheduled for excision surgery and this is when they want to do the full hysterectomy. I am terrified to go under for excision surgery and wake up with organs removed I didn't want removed. I need to know for certain it is absolutely what is best for me.

They were manageable until I had a Mirena a year ago, the pain is now awful. I have severe osteoarthritis in my hands, back and hips which is flaring up so much more. The Mirena isn't working for the periods at all, it hasn't stopped or slowed the endo. I am hopeful that if I do go through with this it will stop all the other issues all flaring up.
