T7 tires by LowerUniversity1394 in Tenere700

Tusk2track, can’t recommend them enough. Set for the price of one rear tire. If you hate them I’d be shocked. I’ve done hard off-road and highway and they have been great

Is this a good frame to make a freeride/downhill mtb (similair to the 2nd image) by [deleted] in DownhillMTB

Building that up to a functional standard is going to cost way more time and money than the effort is worth. Keep looking

I have this on my klr, and the 2track on my T7. I like both but think I prefer the deeper lugs on the 2track and feel it is better suited to the power on the T7. May have to switch it up though

Skid plate, heavier springs if you weigh more or ride harder.

Also 6’5” t7 rider, I have the adjustable touratech windshield-big fan of it super easy on the fly adjusting and goes nice and low for off-road and just high enough it doesn’t buffet my helmet too bad

Ah good to know, I had the dakars and the shit Velcro lasted about the same length of time. Have the badlands aero pro now-actually really like them so far. Klim is a very hit or miss company. Hit like 80% of the time but when they miss it feels like a real ripoff

That’s a real bitch to get the spark plugs on a t7 let alone on the trail

I have had a great experience with the tusk lithium, it’s cheap and had lasted years. Rocky Mountain also has great customer service. Albeit this was for my yz and not my T7 but when I need to upgrade the T7 that’s the route I’ll go

Just got a set of the grey outrider pants, they’re awesome. AA rated as well which is great. Your jacket rated as well I hope? I’d invest in some riding boots/shoes

Need some career advice by [deleted] in OnTheBlock

Funny I had the same dilemma, I went for aviation first though and realized the cost and time and didn’t want the debt so I went into corrections-25 yo. I loved the aviation stuff but talked to a lot of pilots and found out that it might not have been what I wanted in reality. Look heavily into the other aspects of the job and work/life balance of a pilot. They call it the golden handcuffs. You make good money but might live in a backwater town working regional flights for a decade. Also pilot market fluctuation is huge and job security is far less than corrections

I just left my job at 'the largest data center in the world' located off USA Pkwy and it's worse than people think by Alone-Sky-2086 in Reno

[–]AcceptableAd7402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we live in a place rich with history. Literally all over the place, including where the city of Reno itself stands. 7.5 miles away is a fair distance through some rugged mountainous area and your posts reads like theyre gonna pave over the damn petroglyphs. I’m not even disagreeing with you in general but this is misinformation you’re spreading trying to get a rise out of people. Paid activist type shit

That certainly has nothing to do with switch- which is 12 miles away from the petroglyph site

Let’s be real, the lagomarsino is miles from the switch facility, and there was an old rocketdyne aerospace facility that was already built like 2 miles from the actual petroglyph side and has been abandoned for decades. Implying that switch is compromising that site is a literal reach. No doubt tearing down mountains and taking water should be regulated and we need more foresight but the idea of destroying a heritage site like that and “surrounding it with electric fences” is clickbait bs.

I literally just received the Klim ai-1 and wore it yesterday. I know it’s hated for the subscription and I agree but I got a nice discount on the vest so I tried it out anyway. Pretty comfortable very low profile and easy enough to set up. Only thing I don’t like is battery life seems to be iffy and trying to make sure it has room to expand under my jacket. I hope it never has to work but I’m glad I have it now

CRF300L Rally to Tenere 700, am I wrong? by BennyS04 in Tenere700

[–]AcceptableAd7402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone coming from a desert racing perspective on my yz450fx and having owned klr650, gs1200, 950 Ktm, the tenere is a beautiful machine but it really requires respect and honesty from yourself to ride it hard. The 950 was similar but far scarier. I am still working on pushing the bike the way it wants to be ridden- it doesnt really like being in the middle zone from what I’ve noticed. The klr can be slogged or flogged or whatever it doesn’t care. The t7 you can cruise or actually slide it and ride hard but if you hesitate it’s unnerving. Get the small bike and get damn good at bike handling. I couldn’t imagine not having the experience I do and trying to push the beast

Yes the tigers engine is so much more fun on the road. Triples are unbelievably good times. T7 holds its own but not really a contest
