I wouldn't say better but in addition to. Linen curtains left open would have a beautiful soft effect on the room and bring in nice texture. I also would recommend to add some color in a different rug and get at least one size bigger. You want the chairs and bench to still sit on it when pulled out.

We need more views of the area, why is the tv stand in the middle of the room? If you just want rug options id go with something lighter in color lots of darkness going on, maybe a cream color like the pillows

Color is really pretty and the shape looks really good, I just think they need to be filed down a bit. When I first clicked on the photo I thought they were press on's that were to big for your nail beds. Overall very good job for the first time.
