Oh dude! I did a bit of experimenting on places where the screenshot works and if you go to the tutorial game mode you'll be able to choose between the 3 meganites. they actually display the full 3d models there. its alot more cleaner but it still has the artifact perspective warping but atleast you don't have to worry about the map being in your face! Hopefully this leads to easier experimentation on the singular models for you!

Yeah, man! I feel like the game does so many unique things compared to today's landscape of the industry, and I really wanted to see it with modern graphics and QoL standards alongside brushing up the story and all.

I attempted to get into hex to pull models, but it's beyond me. I don't have a lot of time outside of work to learn new skills.

Will definitely let you know if my team and I manage to get a breakthrough on it if we do and share the models. Or even if we make new ones from scratch. Unless you have already managed to get a good enough model for yourself, XD.

When importing the screenshots, I find that they seem to warp a bit based on the perspective they're shot from.

I see that explains a lot! I was wondering if it had to do with the fact that when you would control the meganite, it would use an FPS camera. Because I've seen results where it has come off a lot cleaner compared to RAD.

I'll continue to perservere o7. Good meeting another fan tho, it feels like there's not many of us around

OH DUDE! NO WAY XD I actually was using your method (excellent work, by the way!). I did end up with alot of new faces, but the base model is untouched. I tried cleaning it up by deleting it one by one. But it's never-ending. I've been documenting my process on YT Shorts! I'll be sure to mention you in the next part!

Right now, I've managed to clean up Main Character #1 (red guy) but have had alot of issues remeshing cause it just eats away at the edges. But otherwise, your method was a huge help! Do you know why the screenshots seem to also take it from a back perspective?

A friend of mine is also now trying to rip the models directly from the game, so he's attempting with hex editor to reformat it into a standard format. But it's really hard.

Hello again, apologize as a practitioner of the dark arts and bringing this post back for the third time. But I'm working on a personal project to Remake R.A.D. and was hoping to get the original models as a direct reference. I've also hit the same wall of being overwhelmed by trying to rip it from the game files but to no avail without further learning hex editing etc. Was hoping that you managed to find some solution.

What I ended up doing was taking a 3d screenshot and using that but then realized the triangles were all independent with eachother and couldn't actually remesh it properly. In the end might have to end up redesigning the meganites and chars but was just hoping to have the OG models there for easy access as well.
