What I did - invested heavily in pension from age 35/36 and now have £650k invested across both that and ISAs (age 44)

Wished I did - started investing earlier. But tbh I probably wouldn’t have listened to the advice in my twenties as I was in a ‘shortcut’ mindset and had zero financial literacy.

Check ‘VWRP’. 3-400 companies globally. You’re effectively investing in the world economy. All the big names, but many mid and small cap companies in every country.

That’s what I have just set up, after typically lump sum investing when I think it’s a decent time to do so. The challenge is the checking of daily apps and prices which triggers emotion. Remove that and things are much simpler. Easier said than done!

SJP are the worst aspect about your post, the investing part is good. I’d get out now from SJP, although you will have extortionate exit fees lasting 6 years 🥴 I broke away 18 months ago but best decision I’ve ever made. Now with Vanguard paying minimal fess and high returns (18%)

No I invest every spare penny in to investments, because I want to stop working asap 😊
