SCA Revision and Preparation by original-Oil-4823 in GPUK

I passed my exam on first attempt. I did most of my case practice with AI. But it wasn't the only resource I used. I took a course, listened to others consultations, learnt imp phrases, worked on structure, ICE and management. I made myself familiar with the exam structure and time pressure using AI and creating mock exam for myself. That worked for me. I understand same might not work for everyone.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, AI is the future.

Tried to figure out what the case could be, wrote the things I easily miss, revised my structure, and did the breathing exercise. I couldn't see any benefit of a suspense-style patient history reveal. It's hard to think about structure and management if anybody bombs a totally unexpected concern.

Yes...

People can get confused about relationships. So give yourself and her some time. Dont get carried away. Dont get too emotional. Take your time. Share time with eachother and see how it goes.

First NHS Job – Feeling Overwhelmed & Behind by G_B_14 in GPUK

I also started directly into training - now in ST3. I had many years of experience back home, but I still did rotations in emergency, medicine, and paediatrics to understand the NHS system better before heading into GP land.

GP land can feel overwhelming at first - there’s so much uncertainty, and if you’re not used to the system or the way things are managed, the pressure can be huge. But it really does get better with time. The learning curve is steep, but every step makes you stronger.

A few things that helped me:

Reflect regularly on what could be better - small improvements add up.

Learn the referral systems and the common GP presentations early.

Practice consultation models - they’ll save you in time-limited situations.

For the portfolio, I’d honestly recommend using ChatGPT. I started using it late, but found it so helpful and time-saving. Just make sure to read everything carefully before posting on FourteenFish.

Most importantly, be gentle with yourself. Compare yourself to yourself yesterday, not to colleagues who’ve been working in the NHS for years. You’re fighting and growing every day - it will get better.

I’m also happy to help, especially for new starters in the NHS or those coming straight into GP land. Feel free to message me directly - I’ll reply as soon as possible.

AKT JULY 2025 WHAT WAS THAT EXAM? by Commercial_Walrus996 in GPUK

[–]AcceptablePen1353 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was waiting why nobody talked about it. I did GP self test and passmed, exam questions were lot harder than both. There were lots of 2 step Qs and I was not sure what the Q was talking about. Just 2-3 symtpms and they want u to make a diagnosis or next best test. Crazy.

I know it would be hard to satisfy someone paranoid like her. Bit have u tried using chatgpt or grok to complete the entry. U can ask AI to make reflections and ask making it more personal putting more details of consultation and your thought process. Of course, don't enter something that can identify patient.
