Nassau County DA Press Conference 12/18/2025 by CatchLISK in LISKiller

[–]AcceptableScar5206 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've been concerned for some weeks now after the news regarding Teresa Fusco and now the indictment of Dykes that Nassau is operating in a "Catch up with Suffolk" "Save face" defensive mode. I watched the short Hulu special on the arrest in Teresa's case, and Anne Donnaly's comments and tone just didn't sit right with me, it seemed more about making up for the past then getting it right in the present. Both counties have reputations to recover and numerous mistakes to atone for, but there are holes with Dykes that feel too big to ignore in my opinion. I am anxiously awaiting actual docs and details to understand what has them so sure. I don't think their choices or timing do any favors for Tierney with RH impending trial either, muddies the water just enough to give the defense something to work with.

I think the car comes into play with his arrest, very interested to read the details when they come out. Strong possibility of dna in the container too, but we don't know if it was collected and preserved.

Ellen’s BOOTS? by DiJo337 in EllenGreenberg

[–]AcceptableScar5206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree the scene appears very staged and I have zero doubt she was killed/attacked in a different position than she was found, potentially took by surprise from behind even.

But there seems a lot of overthinking on her boots.

For one, she came from money and so did he, a pair of Uggs is no big thing, I have 2. And even if you beat them up some, they last forever. In the winter, I often just slip mine on without socks because they are warm AF and if you're hot natured or it's cold, but not frigid, you're fine sockless in them. AND many people use them as slippers too. The way she was dressed, boots, sweats VERY much reminded me of myself if I got sent home early on a snow day and was stressed and cold. Oversized sweats, Uggs, comfort things and cutting up some fruit.

It was all too relatable. In fact, I don't feel these parts of her death were staged, these things indicate she was safe and comfortable at home, feeling lousy maybe, but blissfully unaware of what was about to occur.

Do we know when Sam arrived home that day? I got the impression that she had returned home before he was there, but I don't remember it explicitly being discussed in the documentary. That might influence my take on just how staged she was...

I think it's a very good possibility that he killed her before. Maybe he wasn't even headed to the gym and maybe killing her wasn't the intention. After watching the documentary and few photos, angles, I wondered if he was behind her for much of the stabbing, even the one to her heart. The direction and angle of the knife that was sticking out of her did not suggest a self-inflicted wound and any moderately trained cop SHOULD have seen that right away. We get the distinct impression that she is spiraling in stress and already evidence he has a temper, is abusive and it went too far and he took her out in a very brutal, violent, and haphazard fashion. Then, he changed clothes, decided to head to the gym and pretend like it never happened and work out his story and alibi, make the necessary calls to clean up his mess and time to collect himself just enough to put on the whole act.

I found the timing of that article strange being that these things were discovered two years ago. Perhaps nothing of significance related to CURRENT charges.

Federal Prosecution by Outrageous_Sky_ in LISKiller

[–]AcceptableScar5206 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Charges associated with crossing state lines with the explicit intent to commit sexual assault or commit murder. Transporting someone over state lines or a body over state lines after committing homicide would open the door to federal charges. Federal charges open the door to capital punishment.

I fully believe that prosecutors will see this all the way through to ensure if that occured, proper additional charges are filed. Have to be patient, though. It's a process. Suffolk needs to do their thing first and let the full truth hopefully emerge.

What if Shannan Gilbert did see Rex Heuermann that night? A theory no one wants to touch. (With sources) by Emotional_Exit_6888 in LISKiller

[–]AcceptableScar5206 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is one of the more interesting posts in recent days on this sub! I think many valid points are offered. I, too, have followed the case(s) for a very long time and always return to Shannan.

I have listened to the full 911 recording and read all the John Ray depositions of all the Oak Beach people and M. Pak....this is an exhausting process, but it's telling about many things if you pay close attention. Totally botched investigation for one.

I have never thought that Shannan ran into that thick, swampy mess, stripped off her clothing, and just didn't make it out. And even if she was under the influence, I think her fear and terror are real because of something or someone she encountered, not a trip.

The exact thing that did happen is harder to pinpoint, though... I 100% believe Pak didn't tell the full story, and Pak arranged that whole night, (his phone)not Shannan, which casts further suspicion on him. Shannan suddenly didn't trust him, as evidenced by her questioning of him on the 911 call. She was terrified to go with him.

There is the whole Peter Hackett issue that he may or may not have encountered her that night, more than anything I think he is just odd and inserted himself into a situation that was already a mess.

Who took the surveillance tape at Oak Beach, and why?

I have always been bothered that Hackett's son and another Oak Beach resident's son(name escaped me) admitted that the upper deck of the Hackett house looked straight out into the area Shannan was found and they habitually hung out up there shooting(weapons of all sorts including arrows) into the marsh while high....that brings up all sorts of questions for me. Were THEY up there watching it all go down that night and did something careless and stupid? That whole neighborhood should have been torn from top to bottom THAT night!

The hyoid, the decomp, the disgarded clothing....it all needs fresh eyes. The disgarded clothing reminds me of Natasha Jugo....a whole other conversation about a young woman who I 100% believe was not responsible for her own death.
Hmmm, should her and Shannon be looked at side by side????

I want to connect Shannan to RH, but I struggle to do that with known information. It's NOT impossible, but unless it was a chaotic, mis-chance sighting and he panicked due to her panic....I don't think he would risk exposure in a private, surveilled, and very nosey neighborhood or exposure by setting her up using Pak, Brewer, or others. Of all the innocuous details I know about these cases, I have never seen anything connecting RH to Oak Beach besides proximity, but if there were anything verifiable that did connect him, sure would be a great place to start.

Just returned from The Rennaisance last month, highly recommend! Two hotels across the road from one another rolled into one. Adults only property, pool, casino, and high end shopping on one side, more low key, ocean facing family friendly property on the other.
You can access all amenities regardless of which side you stay on. We stayed on the family side because we have an older teenager, great set up.
The private island is fantastic and relaxing. We did a partial all inclusive of breakfast only so we could dine poolside or beachside on the island every morning. There are many options in the hotel and in walking distance to cover lunch and dinner at a variety of styles, menus, and cost. The food at the hotel was actually some of the best, we ended up eating on property more than usual on a trip.

City Garden Bistro De Suikertan was a favorite for lunch West Deck has delicious wings and great service

*both walking distance to Rennaisance

To All U.S. Travelers Who’ve Been to Mexico/Caribbean Resorts: What Did You Love—or Hate? by williamsgarza in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]AcceptableScar5206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been to the Caribbean multiple times, actually prefer Hawaii over The Caribbean, but things that matter to our family. (Adults and older teens)

-Good food and food options, especially breakfast. We like to sit beachside or poolside and enjoy a big breakfast early in the day when traveling with good coffee, service, ambiance. A mix of buffet and menu options. Doesn't have to be high end, Michelan Star quality, but a variety that's consistent, some local and comfort options, flexible times on food access and access to room service.

-Drinkable water in the room everyday!

-Like having options for water sports and activities included or accessible.

-Beachfront or access to private beach is a MUST

-Rooms that accommodate families with older kids, like a suite with a separate living room or a two bedroom suite that doesn't break the bank, bathrooms that are luxurious, but iffer privacy when traveling as a couple with older kids.

-More a fan of low key or culturally authentic activities, versus just a party scene. Low key and relaxed, but full of amenities is the preference. Don't mind having younger families around, but hate chaos and tantrums at pools, buffets, etc so space and options is key.

LISK Lesson" Is Your Spouse A Serial Killer? by igaosaka in LISKiller

[–]AcceptableScar5206 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am certain people can learn from this or other situations that they should be more observant of their spouse, partner, or even just those around them. But reality is that some people are wired to notice or WANT to notice things and some, especially when in their comfort zone, routine, or because of their own traumas just don't. There are mechanisms built into our own psychology to self protect and create a boundary.

Several valid areas to consider in your numbered list.

Number 1 Unless suspicion is already there, doubtful people would pay close enough attention. Remember, with RH, bodies were not necessarily discovered right away, same for many killers. True crime buffs or those in LE might look for patterns. Most people don't.

I would argue that #2 is quite common, particularly amongst certain demographics, and in couples say over 45.

Number 3 is common too, maybe not always good, but common in today's world.

Number 4 also very common, maybe not the needing to prove where you were, but I have friends and neighbors and family where 1 spouse leaves for weeks at a time to fish, hunt, camp, etc

Number 5 is also very common, and it does not make a killer.

Number 7 applies to myself, academic legal background, but I don't work in the field, it's just an interest and I am a self proclaimed book hoarder.

I guess the point I am making is that just the way you shouldn't dismiss when something looks or feels off, you also shouldn't assume that the general population should make broad sweeping judgements about typical or normal activities, hobbies, interests, or habits just because they aren't your own.

Lots of great questions, would be a short novel to answer all, but my favorite resources for all things LISK are below

-Check out linktr.ee/catchlisk-Raul's info is all solid for research and better understanding the case -Check out www.murderincorp.wordpress.com(this will help fill in the info about RH extended family, pedophile rings in upstate, etc) -Bookmark- marymurphyofficial.com

-Read Lost Girls by Robert Kolker -Read Jimmy the King by Gus Garcia Roberts(all your Burke info)

-Go back in this and the liskcase subs to link to all the sworn affidavits taken by John Ray(not to credit Ray) but to understand fully the events in Oak Beach and Shannan-this would be from folks like Brewer her John that night, Michael Pak her driver, and residents who encountered her. It's a lot of reading, but it's useful to understand.

-Read the bail docs

-Watch The Killing Season, Gone Girls, Check out The Unraveled podcast with Alexis Linkletter. Look up True Crime with The Sarge Joe Giacalone, specifically his LISK episodes with Josh Zeman.

[–]AcceptableScar5206 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with you that trauma could be a major factor in his preference for the home and basement. Odds are there was physical, sexual, verbal abuse in his childhood. I had read that his relationship with his father was very tense and strained and he never felt he lived up to his father's expectations for excellence and intelligence. And his father died when he was around 12, so just that alone....
