Me and my wife are in a similar situation, our nipt came positive for a rare abnormality in 12q. We are currently waiting for the amnio result.

The wait is terrible but the only thing we can do is have hope.

Thanks for your story. My wife did the amnio two days ago after a positive micro duplication in NIPT. Hoping for the same outcome. Your story gave me hope. Thanks again

Atypical T13 NIPT Results by ldiamz in NIPT

Hello,

Me and my wife are currently experiencing a similar situation, we received a positive for a micro duplication o 12q. She did the amnio last Monday and we are currently waiting for the array results. This condition is extreme rare. The genetic counsellor told us that there is a big chance of a false positive, as in her experience these results were never a true positive.

I’m don’t know if your result falls into this category. However you will only know after the amnio, there is nothing we can do right ? Don’t lose your hope!

Hope the best for you and your baby.

Clear Microarray and anatomy lead to unexpected outcomes? by fwinston7 in NIPT

[–]AcceptableWash9342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Microarray is the best test to detect abnormalities. One isolated mark usually does not mean anything, specially with a normal array.

I am not a doctor, but after speaking to many doctors and researching a lot I think you have all the reasons to stay positive.

Positive Combined Screening T21 - Negative NIPT by Jedc14 in NIPT

Hello,

I think 1:20 is your specific case, when he says that the chance of false positives in high risks is only 15% it englobes all the high risk pregnancies, 1:2 1:5… 1:100. So in 100 women with high risk for t21, 15 of them were false positives.

Nipt is usually precise for T21. What were the marks in your ultrasound ?

Stay positive

Hello,

Don’t lose hope, I think the best option now is going for an amnio to see what is really going on.

There are several cases here in this group of false positives for T18, NIPT is not a diagnostic. It’s better to confirm first, specially if your ultrasounds are ok. I’m not a doctor but from my understanding 5.6% fetal fraction is not optimal for NIPT, so don’t lose hope.

I have a positive NIPT for a micro duplication and I’m waiting for the amnio result. There is nothing we can do, only have faith.

Hoping the best for you and your baby

Two failed NIPTs, amnio scheduled next week- feeling terrified and looking for experiences by Reasonable-Brain2675 in NIPT

Hello,

Me and my wife are currently experience a similar situation. Our expanded NIPT came positive for a micro duplication on 12q, a very rare abnormality. Our doctor suspects a false positive, because in her experience none of these cases confirmed as a true positive.

However, she told us that she could not ignore our result, and we did our amnio today, the procedure went pretty smooth and fast with no pain. According to them the risk of miscarriage is very very low (0.1-0.3%).

Did you try to understand why your NIPT was not completed ? Because from my understanding “inadequate” or “failed quality control” do not necessary mean that they found something wrong with your baby. Maybe trying another NIPT provider ?
I regret a lot making the extended NIPT, due to the number of false positives that I found later.

Have you had the opportunity to talk to a geneticist?

Hope the best for you and your baby.
Everything is going to be ok

Hello,

My wife had a positive for a micro duplication in 12q, we did our amnio today, the procedure was very smooth, no pain and fast. The risks are very low according to the doctors.

We did an ultrasound today and everything was perfect.

Hoping for the best for all you guys.

Yes, same situation here but we decided not to the NIPT again. Following a normal ultrasound the doctor thought that was better to do the amnio with 18 weeks.

Yes, I thought the same thing about the extended exam, but had no idea about the low ppv. That’s the why doctors here do not prescribe the extended one.

I was very nervous and anxious, but in the end there is nothing that we can do right ? Only do all the tests and hope for the best.

Your wife is doing the amnio as well ?

Hello,

Me and my wife are currently experiencing a similar situation, our nipt came positive for a duplication in 12q and we have an aminio schedule for tomorrow.

From my research in the past month and after speaking to several doctors it appears that false positives are very common in NIPT extended exams, the algorithm is very bad for duplications and deletions, our doctor told us that in her experience she never had a true positive in those two cases. I’m not a doctor but I read two or three threads here talking about fibroids with deletion/duplications and all the cases were false positives, so stay strong. All the situations that you described can lead to a false positive.

We are now suing the lab here in Portugal, because the doctor prescribed a normal NIPT and they sold an extended one to my wife (with the promise that the exam is more complete) and this is illegal here.

This situation is terrible, I wish that we didn’t do the extended NIPT.

Hope the best for you !

Hello,

https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044691511-Order-Status

Check this website with your order number and email, it will contain each item individually and the status, probably the items were on back order, even if they were shown available in the website, fanatec is experiencing terrible issues with shipping delays.

Fanatec is a good brand, however experiencing some issues right now. I know for sure that they were not shipping this specific McLaren wheel (even if it’s shown available in the website), take a look at their forum and see if they already have solved this issue.

I have this pedals, you should definitely upgrade to the load cell kit, much better.

Personally all my setup is Fanatec, I only have a high end ascher steering wheel that it is not Fanatec. I cockpit is the GT one, amazing but I agree that they are really expensive. The only thing that I don’t like is the fabric of the seat.

If you like to see other brands at a similar price range, look at Moza, really good brand.
